Quantitative research is when you look at the data and analytics.

What is primary research?


Primary research is when you do it on your own.

What is secondary research?


Secondary research is when someone else does it for you.

I would need to research what is trending, what was popular and what is nice to look at (camera shots,

Looking at the projects above pick one communication method and skill that you have used in more than
one project, compare how you have used them differently.

In the lost short film and the Blair witch trailer project, there was use of camera shots. In the lost short
film, there was more freedom to choose the shots that were used. However, in the Blair witch trailer,
there were set shots we had to get in order to complete the project.

This time focusing on THE BLAIR WITCH TRAILER PROJECT ONLY how successful do you feel you used
the following communication methods and skills? Provide one example below for each of the following
methods and skills.

Use of camera
The camera was used efficiently in all the projects, like the Blair witch project trailer with the shots of
the trees.

Use of editing
The editing was used effectively in all the projects, for example the clips in the lost short film.

Use of sound (Music/ dialogue/effects)


The sound design was used to great effect, for instances, the sound in the lost short film was used to
show just how empty the looping corridor was.

Narrative
The narrative was used to tell a story, namely the Blair witch project trailer had the narrative of
people going missing in the forest and to present the mystery to the audience.

Writing skills (Scripts/synopsis/questionaries/surveys/taglines/evaluations)


The writing skills were used in the lost short film, for example there is foreshadowing in the
background and establishing shots to show the narrative for the looping corridor.

Research Skills (Secondary research of short films)


The use of research was used to help with all the projects previously mentioned such as the Blair witch
project trailer. The research was used to help create the sense of tension needed for our own version.

What worked well?


I feel the posters worked out well.

What would you do differently and why?


I would try to do the sound editing differently next time as I felt it wasn’t the greatest. I would also spend
more time working on the writing of the lost short film as I feel I needed more time on it.
