Human resource departments have traditionally helped firms with hiring and firing
employees, managing benefits, and conducting appraisals while collaborating with
line managers. But there are trends emerging that are altering how organizations do
their human resource management obligations. The trends includes:-

WORKFORCE DEMOGRAPHICS & DIVERSITY TRENDS


 Workplaces are getting diverse day by day; more women, people of
color, seniors, and those with disabilities are working.
 For example : Johnson & Johnson
They have invested a lot of money in making sure that every
employee contributes to the development of an inclusive culture. "To
maximize the worldwide potential of diversity and inclusion, to drive
outstanding business results and sustained competitive advantage,"
reads the organization's Global Diversity and Inclusion Vision.
They are achieving this through employee resource groups, mentoring
programs, and 'Diversity University,' a dynamic website that teaches
staff members the advantages of cooperating with one another.

TRENDS IN JOB PEOPLE DO


 Following are the big three trends in the job people do :
1) More emphasis on services.
2) More demand for ‘Freelancers’
3) The “HIGH TECH ERA”

 The nature of work has changed from manufacturing to service. In


order to produce and supply services, an increasing number of
workers are employed.
 While many occupations provide variety, working as a freelancer
makes it possible to work on a wide range of projects and themes.
Working inside for one organization might not give you experience in
other markets or professions. One approach to expand one's horizons
is to freelance.
 Nowadays, technological competence is required for work. The major
shift is the rise of high-tech employment, which makes people more
aware of the necessity for technology in their surroundings.
 ON-DEMAND WORKERS -- In order to complete a job, one can
connect with workers directly through a platform using on-demand
labor. It combines the adaptability of working with independent
contractors with the technical specialization and accessibility provided
by a network of experienced workers. For example, Freelancers,

GLOBALIZATION TRENDS
 Entering international markets to boost, increase the revenue, sales ,
ownership. All the trade areas agreements that promotes international trade
come under the heading of globalization
 The effects of globalization are changing how people, corporations, and
governments interact. In particular, it alters the character of economic
exchange between countries by fostering commerce, opening up global
supply networks, and facilitating access to labor markets and natural
resources.
 Multinational firms represent the contradictions of globalization through
their impact on the social and economic development of the nations where
they are located. They enrich the community where they invest or conduct
business by bringing wealth, jobs, and skills. However, they can also
undermine local enterprises, take advantage of cheap labor, and endanger
indigenous cultures.

ECONOMIC TREND
 People were spending more than they were earning during periods of rising
GDP. They began purchasing homes for less money.

 In order to combat inflationary pressure, the Revenue Board, which had


supported the economic recovery following the Great Recession, started
raising interest rates.

TECHNOLOGY TREND
 Technology is changing day by day, its getting advance and it is necessary to
keep up with latest technology.
 Organizations use social media tools like twitter, snapchat, and linked in to
hire new staff.
 Employers are able to include gaming elements into training, performance
reviews, and hiring thanks to websites like Knack, Gild, and True Office.
 Mobile technology is developing. The development and addition of several
mobile applications, including as MAPS, GPS Tracking, and cameras, has
transformed the functions and methods of operation of mobile devices,
which are now used for more than just calling and texting.
 Replicating human intellectual processes in machines, particularly
computers, is known as artificial intelligence. AI has several uses, including
speech recognition, machine learning, expert systems, and natural language
processing. The following are its advantages:
