Interview tips:

1. Keep your admission letter, and CNIC

2. Reach the centre 15 minutes before your allotted time
NOW YOU ARE CALLED FOR INTERVIEW
 Knock the door, and wait for them to call you in.
 Stand until you’re asked to sit.
 If they ask you how you’re doing say something like “I’m doing good, thank you.
How’re you doing?”
 If they trigger you, do not loose your temper. Stay confident. Give your answer with
the same tone (this doesn’t mean you have to be rude or disrespectful), so that they
know you can take whatever they throw at you.

Introduce yourself
 Educational background, not in detail just the name of institute and field. If you have shifted
to a different field, mention it and give a little bit of reasoning (probably he will ask you the
reason, so save your answer for it)
 Three sentences of words that describe you, give a supporting sentence.
 Your hobbies, don’t just say for example “I like doing reading, swimming, and running”,
rather give some sort of reason for why you love doing that particular activity.
 Your qualities or skills
 Your aim or vision- it is advisable that you link your vision to IBA

For those who have shifted their fields

It is mentioned here in your personal statement or as you have mentioned earlier you have shifted
your field, why is that so?
 Give a suitable reason
 Try not to say that it was the only option or I applied to take a chance and got here and stuff

Why IBA?
You can tell the real reason you’re joining IBA if you don’t have any go for these:
 Exemplary curriculum
 Outstanding networks
 Faculty
 Facilities that IBA provides to its students (research a bit about it, you can look for the e-
books, gym, grounds for football and cricket, badminton court, and more).
 You can mention the societies IBA has
 You can read the director’s speech on the website, you can speak about that there was his
person who said IBA is the finest institutes for Business (look for that person in his speech
there).
 You can then say how IBA would help polish your skills, and instill core qualities required by
an entrepreneur in you. How this is a platform for you to achieve your vision.

Why BBA? (It can be any other program too)

 Look for the courses this program entails, then speak about the importance of it in the
corporate world.

How do you define success?

 You can say something like there’s no particular definition of success, it may vary from
individual to individual. Then you can speak about what is success for you?

What is your biggest failure?

 It can be anything, it is a vague answer

Do you have any experience of social work?

 If yes, list them.
 If not, tell them and also mention how you’re willing to engage yourself in it in the future.

If you have mentioned any quality in the personal statement, they might ask you for instances
where you showed that quality.
 You can tell your experiences in it that are related to the quality they asked you about

They can ask you about your idol, or someone who influenced you to do something
 You can name some personalities about whom you have knowledge. Don’t name someone you
don’t know.

What are your strengths/weaknesses?

 Strengths you people can manage.
 Weakness too, but make sure you say that “but I’m trying to overcome this
___weakness___, by doing ____this this____”.

If they ask you an academic question

 Answer it if you know the answer
 If you don’t know the answer, please tell them. Say something like “I am not sure I can recall
the answer for it”. One thing the interviewer dislikes is if you’re trying to make up an
answer, they think that you’re trying to fool them.
