2022-2023 Mid-Year Performance Review and Evaluation

The fourth day of MPRE hosted by Ma’am Deliza Dumandan started at 8:25 in the
morning at Pasian National High school SBM Hall. The program was initiated by the singing
of the Philippine National Anthem and followed by a prayer. After that, Ma’am Dumandan
called in Ma’am Cherry Mae M. Bandija to give us the recapitulation of the third day’s
discussion.

Ma’am Jenny O. Derano, the school’s Head Teacher I, gave a short message before
the session proper about the teacher’s intervention. She gave us a scenario where a teacher
made an intervention to assess an unmotivated student. She shared her personal
experience as a mother where the teacher called her attention to solve an unanticipated
problem involving her child. She explained to us the importance of intervention in addressing
the gaps in the child’s knowledge and barriers to their progress. She then presented the 3
phases of intervention: call the attention of the student, inform parent and home visitation
which we can also apply in similar situation. Before she ends her speech, she assigned each
one of us to create an intervention plan across grade level across subject areas following the
3 phases of intervention she shared to us and that this will be our tool to achieve the
DepED’s pursuit on the policy “NO ONE LEFT BEHIND”.

Ma’am Christine A. Teves was the one who led the session proper. She started her
discussion by introducing Zip Grade as a tool to get the proficiency level of the students. She
taught us how to use it by providing us with direct practical experience in operating our
cellphones and laptops. She also presented the SIM or Strategic Intervention Material a
learning material that helps students to master competency-based skills which were not able
to develop during the regular class. She gave us some examples and explained that SIMs
can be presented using powerpoint presentation, printed materials, or computerize activities.
She also discussed on how to make a project design which we can incorporate to our
intervention plan. After the discussion, we were grouped by Ma’am Teves according to our
subject areas to create our intervention plan for the school year 2022 to 2023. The session
gave us a clear guideline to organize the procedures that we will take to reinforce the
learning of the students.
