Subject: Language Testing and Assesment

When i when was in elementary school in the Ciamis district, i will talk about
learning English at elementary school. Learning English in elementary school used to be an
interesting way. From here i started learning English. In fact, i should have started learning
English early, so i started to get used to learning English at school and the community. From
here, children imitate the language around them, which greatly influences their learning of
English in the home environment. Also, my teacher at the time had an interesting way of
teaching English. From here, English is also mandatory so that you can access information
and communicate effectively and efficiently. The introduction of English in primary school
allows students to know and master the language faster. Can have a better foundational
knowledge before proceeding to higher levels.
Learning English in elementary school is the same as reading. a teacher at my school
gives out pictures like drawings of fruits, animals and vegetables. My teacher then pointed to
them one by one, followed by the students. After that, the teacher gives the students a test to
write the name of the food in English. The next lesson is listening and speaking. From here,
students learn to sing English songs and all students are instructed to follow what the teacher
is singing. This process also helps train your child’s hearing and speech.
Another fun way to learn is by playing games. Playing with English words will
motivate students to learns English. For example, a teacher divides students into groups and
prepares different vocabulary on colored paper. Each sheet of paper contains English words
and other sheets contains Indonesian words. Some of the provided slips of paper are then
given to the group and the slips of paper they bring are sealed so that the writing cannot be
seen. Have them pick it up and stick it on the board the prepared. That was how i learned
English in elementary school.
Then i continued my school to junior high school level, at the junior high school the
English learning process was focused on strengthening the ability to use English in six
language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, insulting, writing, and presenting
integrated, in various types of texts. In this junior high school learning at least the six English
skills refer to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning,
Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) which reflects the specifications that can be seen from the
ability of students to: Maintain interaction and convey something desired, In various contexts
with clear articulation; reveal the main mind to be conveyed comprehensively; and
Maintaining communication although sometimes there are still pauses.
Then learning this junior high school my teacher applies learning methods such as
listening first because; the ability to understand information, give appreciation to the other
person, and understand the information that is heard, so that it can deliver responses relevant
and contextual. The process that occurs in listening includes.
Activities such as listening, identifying, understanding, interpreting language sounds,
then understanding meaning. Listening skills are also non-verbal communication skills that
include how well a person captures the meaning (implied and explicit) in an oral exposure
and understands the main ideas and supporters of the information content and context that
underlies the exposure. They then read their ability to understand, use and reflect the text
according to their purpose and interest in order to develop their knowledge and potential to
participate in the community. Ability to verbally convey ideas, thoughts and feelings in
speaking, social interaction. The ability to write, convey ideas, communicate, express
creativity, and produce written texts in a variety of genres in an effective and understandable
manner is necessary for readers with appropriate organizational structure and appropriate
language elements. is. And finally a present. The ability to express ideas fluently and
accurately can be addressed by communication methods through various media (visual,
digital, audiovisual). Understood by the listener. delivered by voice Presentations should be
designed and developed accordingly according to the needs and characteristics of the listener.
As a student, i use English to interact and share ideas, experiences, interests, opinions
and views with teachers, peers and others in a variety of formal and informal familiar
contexts. Through repetition and substitution of vocabulary, here i understand the main ideas
and relevant details of discussions and presentations on a variety of topics familiar to me,
drawn from the context of school and home life. Express opinions, compare, and
communicate preferences. Then use simple sentence structures and verbs to explain and
clarify your answer.
