From Scrap to Sculpture

NAME: JELLAMAE U. ENGUIG YR/SECTION: BSIT

THE PROCESS/STEPS

• Before I start making the sculpture, I collect things that

are no longer used at home, such as beads, plastic
bottles, disposable spoons, etc.
• After gathering the recyclable materials, first, I cut the
plastic bottles into the form of leaves, and I used sticks
and straws to form the tree.
• I colored the bottom of the tree using spray paint and the
branches with acrylic paint.
• After making the tree I had an idea to make a human
figure to represent Gaia (The personification of the earth
in Greek mythology).
• I used paper and thin cans to form the face and the
body.
• To add texture to it, I attach random things like beads
and straws. I also add leaves made from plastic bottles
of mountain dew.
• I finished the sculpture by painting it with the hues of
green.
ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLE

• It has height, width, and depth and occupies actual space.

• The colors are made up of hues of green, and red and blue.
• The texture is a combination of smooth and rough.
• Some parts are symmetrical and some are asymmetrical.
• Used the principle of Proportion.
