Course Title : Civic Welfare Training Service/Literacy Training Program
Credit Units : 3 units lecture
Time Allotment : 4 hours

I. Vision:

II. Mission

Northwestern University ensures the efficient implementation of the NSTP components to ready the youth for emergency and
defense preparedness.

III. Course Description:

CIVIC WELFARE TRAINING SERVICE 1

It refers to program of activities contributory to the general welfare and betterment of life for the members of the community
or the enhancement of its facilities, especially those devoted to improving health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety,
recreation and morals of the citizenry.

LITERACY TRAINING PROGRAM

Is designed to train the students to teach literacy and numeracy skills to school children, out of school youth and other
segments of society in need of their services.

IV. Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1. discuss, reflect and internalize the mission, vision, philosophy, objectives and CHAMPS of the University in relation to the vision,
mission, goals and objectives of NSTP;
2. understand and explain the basic premises of the constitution and what it means to him as a citizen;
3. respect and observe existing laws of the land;
4. become active and responsible citizens of the country;
5. organize and mobilize for community extension programs; and
6. become volunteers for communities;

VI. Classroom Management Rules:


To maintain class order and discipline, the students should:
1. Keep away all types of gadget during class hours otherwise, they would be confiscated by the facilitator;
2. Attend sessions/meetings religiously and on time;
3. Avoid talking and doing other disruptive behaviors while class is in session;
4. Talk professionally and avoid uttering profanities;
5. Take the responsibility of updating themselves for what transpired if they missed a session by contacting a classmate;
6. Clean the classroom and arrange the chairs before the class starts and before leaving the classroom;
7. Feel free to get updates of their class performance; and
