RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

In this chapter, we discuss the various stages followed during the study. Typically, this

chapter's contents include research design, respondents of the study, research locale,

instruments used for data collection, data gathering procedure, and statistical treatment of data.

Research Design

The study design used in this study is of the qualitative method type. It is the most

appropriate method to use. As the study of the nature of phenomena, qualitative research

focuses on investigating why a particular phenomenon is observed (or not), evaluating complex

treatments using multiple components, and improving interventions. Especially, this study

design aims to study how different variables affect each other. It is also a descriptive type of

research. Descriptive research is a type of research used to describe the characteristics of a

population. It collects data that is used to answer a wide range of "what, when and how"

questions related to a particular population or group. This method is used to determine the

Guess Satisfaction in services in Quest Hotel, Tagaytay City.

Respondents of the study

The respondents of our study are the guest in Quest Hotel Tagaytay City, Cavite. They are

the one who have enough knowledge to answer the problems posed in our study. They

answered the questionnaire that we gave to them which supplies the information that we need.

Researchers conducted survey to respondents in Quest Hotel, Tagaytay, it was computed

that a total of 40 respondents were needed to conduct the study and asking some information
about guest satisfaction in services in Quest Hotel Tagaytay City, Cavite. The researchers of the

study used a simple random sampling as a sampling technique, which defined as sampling

technique where every item in the population has an even chance and likelihood of being

selected in the sample.

Research Locale

The study was conducted at the Quest Hotel Tagaytay City, Cavite since the respondents

are the guest of the Quest Hotel. The researchers chose the place of implementation because it

will give the researchers the needed information for guest satisfaction in services.

The study was conducted in the municipality of Tagaytay, specifically in Fora Rotunda along

Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, Silang Crossing East of Tagaytay, in the province of Cavite.

According to Stritch ( 2012 ), hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short

term basis. Facilities provided inside a hotel room may range from a modest quality mattress in

a small room to large suites with bigger, higher quality beds, a dresser, a refrigerator annd other

kitchen facilities, upolstered chairs, a flat screen television, and en-suite bathrooms. Small,

lower priced hotels may provide additional guest facilities such as a swimming pool, business,

childcare, conference and event facilities, tennis or basketball court, gymnasium, restaurants,

day spa and social function services. Hotel rooms are usually membered to allow guests to

identify their room.


Quest Hotel, Tagaytay is a choose destination for relaxation, bonding and staycations. An

ideal place for guests looking for value for money and an escape in the South located right in

the heart of Tagaytay City. It's cool climate and it is overlooking to the world famous Taal

Volcano is one of the trademarks of this hotel.

Moreover, Quest Hotel Tagaytay offers a budget friendly room that will meet the vacation

that you deserve, the quality service and comfortable rooms to stay in. The maintenance of its

cleanliness and orderliness inside the whole establishment is observed and one of the things

that the management prioritize is the safety of everyone in the establishment.

Instrumentation

For this research study, a survey questionnaire was prepared by the researchers. It is

created using suitable questions formed by the researchers. After studying the previous works

to generate the logical framework. The questionnaire was settled in English and, at that time,

translated to get applied suitably to wide-ranging study. The exceptional questionnaire for the

research included twenty question objects on customer satisfaction as well as service quality.

Each respondent was given and requested to answer the same established questions in a

prearranged instruction in this technique. The questionnaire was paper-based. The

questionnaire was two different forms, open and closed-ended, to get the respondents' opinion.

The study employed a close-ended questionnaire as the most convenient tool for gathering data

on the visitors. It could reach a considerable number who can write and read independently.
Data Gathering Procedure

The researcher followed the following steps in gathering the data needed in the study. The

first action taken in gathering information was to make or construct a concrete and easy to

understand questionnaire. The whole questionnaire was printed and sent to the adviser for their

comments, suggestions, corrections and proper evaluations. After the modification it went

through the panel members for validation. All the comments, suggestions and corrections made

by the panel and the adviser were considered in the revision of the questionnaires. The

questionnaires were retrieved and the data were subjected to statistical analysis and

interpretation.The researcher personally distributed the questionnaire to the respondents and

explained to them thoroughly the rationale of the study.

The guests response was assessed by the prepared survey questionnaire. It was given to

twenty guests. Here are the steps for the collection of data were used as follows:

• The researchers used survey questionnaire.

• The researchers gathers information by giving survey questionnaires to the respondents.

• After the completion of the survey questionnaires, the respondents gave them back to the

researchers.

• After the questionnaires have been accomplished, the results were tallied and tabulated.

These data became the bases of analysis and interpretation.


Statistical Treatment of Data

In this study, quantitative rsearch methods were used in order to fully investigate the

research problem. Guest's responses to the survey questionnaire were statistically analyzed

according to their perception and knowledge.

Moreover, the researchers solve the findings manually to ensure that no answers will be

biased to our study. Here are the statistical treatments that are used merely in the study.

Frequency and Percentage

The researchers made use the frequency and percentage scale to quantify the data gathered

and to find statistical significance of the relevant problems in this study.

The formula of the percentage is:

% = f / N x 100

Where;

% = Percentage of response

f = frequency

N= total number of respondents
