COURSE TITLE: PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HEALTH 2 (GRADE 11)

COURSE CREDIT: 80 HOURS/SEMESTER

COURSE: SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL -TVL

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Physical Education and Health offers experiential learning for learners to adopt an
active life for fitness and lifelong health. The knowledge , skills and understanding which include
physical and health literacy competencies support them in accessing, synthesizing and evaluating
information; making informed decision; enhancing and advocating their own as well as others fitness
and health.

This course covers concepts, principles, mechanics of officiating and rules of specific
sports. It also covers management of fitness, sports and recreation events. At the end of the course,
the learner will be certified by National Sports Associations (NSAs) and TESDA.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the student should be able to;
1. Know the importance of sports and physical activities in enhancing your health.
2. Learn the physical activities for the prevention of modifiable risk factors for non-communicable
diseases.
3. Identify strategies to promote sports at home, in the school, and in the community.
4. Explain the sources of energy for physical activity.
5. Discuss the variety of assessments that you can use in evaluating your performance in Health-
optimizing Physical Education.
6. Explain preparation needed to get ready before getting into any physical activity.
7. As a sports spectator, explain why individual techniques, team strategies and tactics were effective
in a game or competition.
8. Know the basic characteristics of fitness goals.
