Day 10 (September 24, 2021)

Today is my tenth day as a practice teacher in Bright Beginnings Academy in

Tanza, Same as yesterday, my task is to observe the classes of grade 4 and grade 1

and help in admitting and checking in the students on the Little Lives app.

The grade 4 students did their usual routine in the morning with Teacher Judy

and had a spelling as part of their daily focus. When Teacher Judy had already gave

them a few reminders, they prepared themselves for their first subject in Filipino.

Teacher Jhamina facilitated a quiz to the students. Since most of the students are

English speakers, the questions had to be translated by the teacher. While the quiz is

on-going, Teacher Jhamina makes sure the order in the class and reprimand those who

were trying to leave their seats. They also had a quiz as they moved to their next

subject, Araling Panlipunan which was also taught by Teacher Jhamina. After taking up

two quizzes, the grade 4 students had their snacks until their next subject. In Math, the

class also took up a quiz led by Teacher Pauline. When they are done with their

quizzes, Teacher Judy surprised the class by entering as news reporter, reporting about

the current updates about the Covid-19 virus. The students were all immersed as

Teacher Judy states the news to the class. After that, they went on to discussing their

topic Communicable Diseases for their Health subject. When they finished their

discussion, Teacher Judy allowed to eat their lunch and comeback when the class

resumed for Teacher Leah’s English class.

Teacher Leah facilitated an activity to the class where the students are asked to

describe one another. She use it as motivation for their topic in adjectives. The class
had fun as they find words to tell something about their classmates. Finally in the last

subject, Teacher Kim discussed about skill related fitness for their PE subject.

I also had the same routine in the afternoon class in admitting and checking in

the pupils in the Little Lives app. During the opening, the class also had their spelling

led by Teacher Pauline. After doing their daily routine, the class prepared themselves as

they wait for Teacher Krystel in their AP class. Today, the grade 1 pupils tackled about

the members of the family. While the teacher is discussing, the questions and sharing

regarding the topic were welcomed by the teacher. After that, they answered an activity

in the book until the end of their period. The next subject of grade 1 pupils is English

and Teacher Leah continued their discussion from their previous lesson. The class

answered a few exercises to check if they really understood their lesson. When they are

done, the kids started eating their snacks.

As soon as the snack time is over, Teacher Jhamina joined the meeting to

facilitate in their Music class. She taught them a song and its actions and sang together

with the class. She then associated it to their topic on steady beat and then after that, all

of them sang all along. Finally, in Math class, Teacher Pauline also gave them more

practices and exercises to master the skill of adding numbers. She allows the students

to explain how they add while answering each exercises. Shortly after, the class went

on to their consultation time with Teacher Kim where they review what their

assignments today are.

Today is another day to familiar myself on the current medium of learning. It was

challenging and I do have a hard time especially with my internet connection. But,
despite all these challenges, I am hopeful that I can still teach even if the today’s

situation limits it. I am thankful.
