Preface

The devil has been waging war against God , the creator way before
the beginning of the ages. Especially now as we draw to the close of
the ages. He has intensified his fight against God and His creation.
God has however given us all we need to be able to overcome the
devil through the precious blood of the lamb.

God wants to restore His creation to its original state that is the state
before Adam and Eve gave over their dominion when they sinned
against God.

 Chapter 1

Introduction

God redeemed the world through His son Jesus when he was nailed
to the cross and shed His blood for our sakes. Jesus brought us back
into covenant with God when he bore all our sins and made
atonement for us once and for all. He just did not cover our sins as was
done by the priests in the old testment but He removed them from us

complelely and as a results bought us the priviledge of being able to
come into the presence of God. He defeated the devil once and for
all . Col 2:14 -15 , says ‘ having wiped out the handwrittIng of
requirements that were against us . And taken it out of the way,
having nailed it to the cross . Having disarmed principlalities and
powers , He made a public specticle of them truimphing over them in
it. The devil had every right to accuse us because our sin remained . Sin
seperates us from God and since God is light , sin makes us dwell in
darkness . The devil was given the legal rights to operate in places of
darkness .These are places which do not have the word of God
dwelling in it . And so before Jesus Christ died for us and removed us
from the power of sin, the devil had ordinaces that were against us
which he used to keep us in bondage . Christ erased those ordinaces
when his blood was shed as the living sacfrice that permanantly
destroyed the power of sin in our lives and he triumped over the devil
destroying his legal ground and authority over our lives . He won the
legal ground on our behalf to take back the dominion , authority and
territory the devil took from us when Adam and Eve disobeyed God.

Salvation

Salvation is the act of saving or the means of being set free. Its is being
delivered from the coconsequences of sin which are -:

- Seperation from God

- Curses

-Affliction, sickness and disease

-Turmoil , torment and fear

-Rejecton , oppression and judgement

- Captivity , guilt and shame

- Poverty and lack

- Barreness and unfruitfulness

The question is why does it still seem like the devil is still having an upper
hand when Jesus obatined victory on our behalf ?

First and foremost because God is loving and true to his word , he will
not force His will on anyone . He gave us the freedom to choose. So
our decision on what to do with the finished work of Christ will
determine our freedom from the devil.

The word freedom is most times misunderstood as many think

freedom is being free to do whatever we deem fit to do. The apostle
Paul on the says in 1 Corinthians 6:12 ,”Everything is permissible
(allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for
me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other
things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of

anything or be brought under its power.. The word here says all things
are permissible but not all things are beneficial . So any thing we do in
order to please the flesh gives instant pleasure but does not satisfy the
soul really. Our souls long for true pleasure that can only be attained as
we dwell in the presence of God(Ps 16:11) .

True freedom is when we dwell in the will and purposes of God . It is

when we are free to become the people God called us to be and also to be
able do the assignment He gave to us. It is when we dwell in his blessings
and attain propserity through him. It is when we are free from the torment,
distruction and captivity of the devil. True freesom is when we allow Jesus
Christ to be our Lord and master and when we live our lives according to
the standard of God’s word and in his presence daily being led and directed
by the Holy spirit .

So one reason we remain in bondage to the devil is because we love God

but also the world and all it offers which is enimity to God. The spirit of the
world comes with pride of life whereby just like the devil the desire is to
take God's glory for ourselves. It therefore fosters competition , desire for
fame and worldly possessions and worldly power. And this spirit keeps us in
bondage unless our minds are renewed to the word of God and to his
standards

God’s saving grace

The devil has waged war against God and His creation since time
immemorial . God has put in place many strategies to overcome him . The
greatest of this was the sacrifice of his only begotten son who died and
rose again so that we could attain salvation in every form . Not all things
are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when

considered ). Colossian 2:15 says that Jesus triumphed over the enemy and
made a public specticle of him.

Many are ignorant of the fact that they also have a part to play in order to
attain total deliverance .The bible says in Hosea4:6 , “ My people perish
because of lack of knowledge. The devil does his best to keep us ignorant
of his devices causing us to embrace certain things as normal and yet they
contravene the commands of God. We have ignorantly taken part in things
which displease God because of ignorance but that does not justify us
because we still remain open for the devil to launch his distructions. We are
ignorant because we do not seek to know God's word which is His
blueprint on how we must live and it also reveals the deep secrets of
creation . It also reveals His will and purpose for us. Because people
will not read and meditate on the word of God themselves , they will
end up in deception from false teachers and prophets who seek to
further the agenda of the devil. The word of God has an answer to
everything we encounter on this earth.

There are some churches which are really cults which discourage
people form reading the word of God claiming that it is stale news and
claiming that the only way that God communicates through His people
is through the ‘spirit’. This is the height of disception because only God
knows if the spirit that they claim to have is the Spirit of God. The Holy
spirit will lead us to repentence and glorifying Jesus. He leads us to
obey God .

The word of God in Joshua1:8 says , “ we must not let the book of the
law depart from us but that we must meditate on the word of God
day and night so we can prosper and have good success. So when we
do not read the word of God we remain in bondage through
deception according to Matthew 12:28 which says,”But if it is by the
Spirit of God that I drive out the demons, then the kingdom of God
has come upon you [before you expected it]. Christ spiritually defeated

the devil and restored back the dominion we lost when Adam and Eve
disobeyed God. But it is the children of God , the seed of Adam who
were given the command to rule over the earth, subdue it and cause it
to work for us according to Genesis 1: 27-28 .So the ones who take
back territory are the children of God. God is spirit and so he enforces
His rulership through the agency of His sons.

God to complete His work on earth uses people who are willing and
obedient to further His agenda. So it is with enforcing the victory of
Jesus Christ .It is the responsibility of the Son's of God to take back
territory from the devil by engaging him, exercising authority over him
and displacing him and taking away his dominion through spiritual
warfare, praise and worship, and destroying the devils legal ground
when we live holy and sanctified lives.We are not to refuse to
participate in our deliverance and remain passive because we also
remain in bondage. The word of God in the book of Matthew 11:14
says that the Kingdom of God suffers violence but the violent take it by
force also in Acts 14: 22 it is said that , “ We must enter the Kingdom
of God through many tribulation. No worrior expects to win a battle
without pain, suffering , difficulty and discouragement. It is through
endurance and perserverance that we succeed in the kingdom of God.
It is easier to value something when we fight for it but when we easily
obtain it , its easy to lose it . Proverbs 20:21.

The devil has been ruling our territories for so long and he will not
easily relinguish. So we must be tenecious and stubborn also in order
to take back our territory. The whole story of our salvation is best
exemplified by the judicial system. We had been found guilty by the
highest court and were supposed to be jailed inorder to pay for our
sins and transgressions . Jesus however stood in our stead and he was
the one who paid the price on our behalf and took away our guilt. He
also restored back what we lost. So the courts gave us the rights to live

in freedom and repossess what belongs to us. The repossessing aspect
is our responsiblity. Jesus opened the prision door for us to come out
but the walking out of the prision is our responsibility. So we must join
together with Christ Jesus in order to overcome the devil and advance
the Kingdom of God.

The devil’s devices

The word of God in 2 Corinthianss2:11 also tells us not to be ignorant

of the devils devices. More so in the day and age we are living . The
devil’s activities have increased because he knows that his time is
limited and he wants as many souls with him in the lake of fire. His
deceptions are in the church which has opened its self up by loving the
world and its standards. We have embraced certain things that do not
please God. The church has been deceived to become materialistic and
many have based their relationahip with God on what they can attain
from Him and the truth is not being preached. The Message of
salvation has been replaced by prosperity gospel and gospel that
gratify the flesh. Its no longer a message of faith but one to appease
our selfish desires. The devil like this because it renders the church
powerless to fight him and advance the Kingdom of God and thus
delay the ushering in of his judgement.Also it affords him time to
recruit more people through deception. Some in the church have sold
their souls to the devil because of their love for money , fear ,
acceptance , power and refusing to endure or wait for God’s timing.

The devil keeps people ignorant by causing them to deny that he is

working against them. So he has allowed some to live a complacent
life to the point that they do not even know that they are in captivity.
Some love to gratify their flesh and so will remain in compromise.

Some have participated in devlish things because of lack of knowledge
of his devises. The devil’s authority was taken away and restored back
to us. We are now the ones who enforce the victory of the cross. ..
Denying the devil's existance and knowledge of his existance does not
make him go away but we need to displace him and take back our
territorry . The words of God in Matthew 12:28 says, if we cast out
the devil by the figure of the spirit then the Kingdom of God has come.

Culture and tradition.

These are man made rules and laws usually with roots in the occult.
They are a serious enemy to the law of God and it is one way the devil
has kept us in deception and bondage. We will delve into it in later
books. However we must not allow things in our culture and tradition
to hinder us from the will and purpose of God. Iniquity is therefore the
sum total of all twisted thoughts or the total of all that is evil in
mankind . It came into man when the devil deceived Eve to go contrary
to God's will.

Iniquity is transmitted in the human at conception and moves through

the lineages like DNA. It operates like a spiritual umblical cord that
transits the spiritual DNA of evil from generation to another. Iniquity is

refered to in the bible as a body of sin . It has formed part of the
spiritual body of man affecting his behaviour and structure of thoughts
.It originates in the spirit and invades the soul and body.

Legalism of the devil

The devil is a legalist in that he justifies his actions against us by

accusing us before God according to the sin and iniquities in our lives.
Sin and iniquity open the door for the devil to launch attacks on us.
We must be in a position to defend ourselves and countering those
accusations before the courts of heaven. What ever is decided in the

courts of heaven that is God’s throne stands until we counter petition .
The devil’s legal ground must be destroyed first before we can present
ourselves before God . If there is unconfessed sin and iniquity in our
lives , then our attempts will be futile because sin seperates us from
God and as a result we can not stand before him to be justified. We
need the blood of Jesus to grant us access into the courts of heaven
and to repenent so the devil will have onthing againsts us and our
petitions will be granted.

Sin and iniquity keep us open to the devils attack.

Sin

It is missing the mark . It is violating and going against God’s will ,

purpose and plan for our lives. Its start from violating the commands
of God and to living the life God did not predestin for us.

Iniquity

Means twisted and distorted. It is anything that turns us away from

God’s straight and perfect path . Lucifer was the originator of iniquity .
He was created perfect and full of beauty . He began to desire God’s
throne thus turned away from God’s perfect and straight path. Iniquity
in the spiritual substance that produces sin . It can be said to be the

root of evil. When transmitted to man in birth , it impregnates his
heart with thoughts and intentions opposed to righteousness , truth ,
love and everything God is. Iniquity therefore is the sum total of all
twisted thoughts or the total of all that is evil in mankind. It came into
man when the devil deceived Eve to go contrary to God’s will.

the human lineage as a spiritual DNA. It operates as a spiritual DNA of
evil from one generation to another. Iniquity is refered to in the bible
as the body of sin. It has formed part of the spiritual body of man
affecting his behaviour and structure of thought. It pervades the spirit
and invades the soul and the body. In plain terms , iniquity is the
tendency to sin that runs through the blood line. A sin might have
been pepertrated by an ancestor and was not repented of. When sin is
done constantly , it becomes a bad habit which then gets
empowerment from demonic forces. Thus one comes to a stage they
cannot stop a certain habit because demonic forces are now actively in
control. An example from the bible in Genesis. 20:2 whereby Abraham
lied to Ahimelec that Sarah was his sister. Issac also lied the same
about Rebecca his wife in Genesis 26:6 . When we get to Jacob who
was the third generation , the tendency to lie had turned into
deception . The name Jacob mean’t supplanter . He got his brother’s
birthright by deceit. We see in this example that the tendency to sin
increases from generation to generation and unless curbed it get
worse and worse. Iniquity brings about curses on our lives. Sin always
comes with consequences as it seperates us from God. Sin is the door
through which the devil gains legal access to bring us into captivity and
bondage . God dwells in light . So when we sin , we are seperated
from the light and so we enter into the domain of the devil which is
darkness and that leaves us at his mercy until we repent and turn from
all wickedness. When we repent, we are ushered back into the
presence of God and there the devil cannot dwell.

 Breaking the legal ground

The only way we can silence the devils accusations against us is

through repentence of our personal sin and the sins in our
generations. Repentence is not just confessing our sins , but it is totally
turning away from our wicked ways and to begin to live righteously. It
is to have a clean break from all the wicked things that we have done
or that were done in our generation. Generational sin can be sin by
tendency within a family line. For instance in some families there is a
tendency towards substance abuse where almost everyone
drinks ,smokes or takes drugs. In some families, there are problems of
promiscuity, etc. As a result of this sin, it opens up doors for certain
consequences to befall members of that household because of the sin
in their life.

You may ask why the next generation has to suffer for the sins of
previous generations? God himself said in Exodus 20:4 that he would
visit the iniquity of the fathers to the third and forth generation. So
when we have iniquity, it moves like DNA and when its not
repentented in the eyes of the devil you represent the originator of the
iniquity since you carry the same DNA with that person and so you are
open to his attacks. But when we repent and come under the blood of
Jesus, the iniquity is washed away . The blood of Jesus justifies us and
leaves us in a state of purity as if we have never sinned before. This
then closes the devils legal ground and protects us from his wiles and
mechanations.

Repentence

It is turning away from sin . It entails owning up to the sin and turning
away from it. This means once we repent of a sin we should never go
back to it. Repentence comes with-:

1. Godly sorrow .- It centres on God . We have to be truely sorry for

violating the Commands of God and grieving His spirit.

2 . The confession of sin alone is not genuine repentence . Genuine

repentence is accompanied by a change of heart. We must commit to
change. We must desire righteouness and commit to conform to God’s
desires. In Judges 10:15-16, the Children of Isreal put away the gods
they were serving to show that they had changed their ways toward
the ways of God.

3. Clear verbalisation - It is necessary to confess our sin to someone

trusted. Genuine repentence cause God to deliver us because He
cannot endure our suffering but we suffer because of our actions of
rebellion.

4. Restitution - It may mean to seek forgiveness and pay back.

 Chapter 3

Hinderances to total victory

A point to note is that to be fully delivered from the grips of the devil is
a process. It is not an instant event but it is a gradual and on going
process. Our full redemption will take place when Christ comes to take
us with him and when we receive spiritual bodies. Whilst still on the
earth , we remain subject to its fallen state .

The things we have to uproot have taken years to be ingrafted in us

and so will take time to be removed because the devil always puts up a
resistance . Just like a physical war, it takes time before territories are
won. In the book of Joshua, the Isrealites did not take back terrirory all
at once , but it was a gradual process. Scripture iinDeutronomy 7:22
says that God would not give them territory once and for all but
gradually least the beasts of the that territory would consume them.

In Matthew 12:43 , Jesus said that the devil will leave the house clean
when cast out. Meaning he is housed in whatever area he afflicts us .
He goes into arid places and tries to return . If he finds the house
unoccupied , he will come back to reposess the place bringing with
him seven more deadly demons with him leaving the latter state of the
person worse of than it was in the beginning. So when we go through
deliverance ministry and counselling we must make sure that we close
every door through which the devil comes in through staying righteous
and filling our soul with the word of God. We also must feed our spirit
and allow the Holy spirit to take residence in our lives. We must also
dwell in the presence because the devil cannot stand the presence of
God. Some other doors through the which the devil acesses our lives
are as follows -:

Disobedience

This is going against the commands of God and chosing to do what

pleases us which is not pleasing to God. Judges 2:2-3 says ,”And you
shall make no covanant with the inhabitants of this land ; you shall
tear down the altars . But you have not obeyed My voice . Why have
you done this? Therefore I also said, “I will not drive them them out
before you; but they shall be thorns in your side and their gods shall be
a snare to you.

Our disobedience causes God to not fight for us and leave us at the
mercy of the devil who is merciless and ruthless.

Serving other gods

We can’t serve the Almighty God and at the same time serve the god’s
of our forefathers and except victory. We can’t continue to claim to be
Christians at the same time consulting witchdoctors , necromenicia,

spiritist or participate in one occultic activity after another and expect
victory. God hate the occult and it is the very reason why we remain
accursed and in bondage. Deutronomy 18 : 9 says,” When you come
into the land which I am giving you , you shall not learn any of their
abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you
anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire , or
one who practices witchcraft , or a soothsayer , or one who interepret
omens , or a sorcerer , or one who conjures spells , or a medium , or a
spiritist or one who calls the dead ( necromencia). For all who do these
things are an abomination to the Lord your God .

All these are practises of following others deities and caused the Lord
our God to drive out all the nations which practised all this. Every time
we go into a shrine , we are presenting ourselves to the diety of that
shrine. There is always an exchange of vitue when we do that . God is
a jealous God and commanded us to worship him and him alone and
he promises to visit with wrath to the third and forth generation of
those who participate in worshiping other gods.

When we do not give ourselves wholly to God , we are lukewarm

before Him and in Revelations 3: 14-21 , he admonishes the luke
warm church to choose to either be hot or cold. Luke warmness causes
God to spew us out of his mouth. We cannot also serve God and
mammon which is the spirit behind the love of money. The love of
money and worldly riches can be corrupting and the bible says it is the
root of all evil. Also the love of the world is enemity with God. God
desires us to seek first His kingdom and all the things pagan chase
after will be given to us .

Discouragement.

To take our territory we must guard against discouragement . The devil
uses discouragement to bring us to a place of giving up .
Discouragement causes us not to believe and trust God to see us
through. It makes us doubt his word. The spies sent to spy the land for
the Isrealites as they prepeared to go into the promised land were
overwhelmed by the size of the people they encountered and were
discouraged . They also sought to discourage the rest of the crew . If it
was not for Caleb and Joshua who believed God and refused to be
discouraged, the children of Isreal would have perished in the
wilderness. Thoughout the book of Joshua , Joshua was commanded
to be strong and courageous in order to take the land of their
promise. And so it must be with us that as we embark on this journey
to take back our territory and God’s territory that is in the grip of the
devil , we must be strong and courageous. In Joshus1:8 , the antidote
given to Joshua to kill discouragement was that he was to meditate on
the word of God and that the law should not depart from him if he
wanted to prosper and have good success as they obeyed the law and
did things according to it. Our faith is built up as we feed on the word
of God .

Unbelief

It a great hinderance to us attaining the promises of God. Prov 3:5-

6 ,tells us to trust in the lord and to lean not on our own
understanding . Philipians 4:4-7 tells us not to be anxiuos about
anything but through prayer , supplicattion with thanksgiving , we
should make our requests known to God and His peace which
suprpasses understanding would rule and guard our hearts and minds
through Christ .

We should have confidence that whatever we ask for God will give us
according to His will. Our prayers are heard by Him according to 1

John 5:14-15. James 1:5-8 admonishes us against doubting and
double mindedeness. It says, “ But let him ask in faith with no
doubting for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed
by the wind . For let not that man suppose that he will receive
anything from the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his
ways .

In Matthew 17:20 , the desciples were rebuked by Jesus because they

had failed to heal the epileptic because of unbelief . Jesus told them
that faith as small as a mustard seed would cause a mountaiin to fall
into the see. The examples in the word are many . To be victorious in
spiritual warfare , we have to believe that God is with us , fighting on
our behalf.

Unforgiveness

This is failing to release a person who has offended us , hurt us or

caused us some form of harm . When we do not forgive a person , we
carry their offenses on us but when we release that person we allow
God to judge righteously . God doesn’t want division and always
judges for reconcilation and peace unless the persons involved are set
for wickedness . It is not for us to avenge because God himself
promises to revenge on our behalf. Sometimes there could have been
factors that lead to us being hurt which don’t warrant us to condemn
the person who has hurt us. Sometimes the person might be genuinely
sorry , but unforgiveness refuses us to release them . Sometimes we
also hold grudges against a person because we do not approve of their
way of life or because of something done against us by their kin. All
this is uncalled for and it is a great hinderance to us accessing the
benefits of being in the Kingdom of God.

Unforgiveness gives birth to bitterness and bitterness birthes rebellion ,
cruelity, anger and just the tendency to hurt others. So the saying goes
, ‘ hurt people hurt others’.

Forgiving someone who has grossly hurt us intentionally or otherwise

can be very difficult . It can only be accomplished through the devine
enablement of the Holy spirit . We need to surrender the issue before
God. Everything we deal with starts with us making a choice to obey
God. He commands are us to forgive so that we can also be forgiven .
He forgave the whole world for forsaking him and following a creature
that rebelled against him so he knows above all the bitter taste of
being betrayed and hurt because we His creation hurt him above
anything else. Imagine he had to sacrifice his own son so that peace
would reign once again between us and him . He took us back when
we were so marred with sin and made us his children ones again and
took our sin upon himself. So God is the only one who can heal us
and bring us into total forgivness.

Truelly forgiving someone is a process where we daily choose to

release the person who has hurt us. Sometimes just a thought of the
person who hurt us can bring up thoughts of bitterness and anger .
When that happens its best to go back to God and ask for the help of
the Holy spirit to bring us peace and restoration.

Usually we can know that we have forgiven when we are able to face
that person without feeling any negative emotions rising against them.

Unforgiveness is a serious blockade to our deliverance . In Matthew

18:21-35 , Jesus Christ tells the parable of an unjust servant after he
had told them that they were to forgive anyone who offended them
seventy times seven times. In the parable , a servant who had been
owing the king a huge debt and had had the debt written off couldn't

forgive a collegue who also owed him money much less than what he
had owed the king. He had sent his fellow man to jail until he had paid
the debt. When the king heard what this servant had done , he was
inscensed because of his heartlessness and delivered him to the
tormentors. Mathew 18 : 34-35 says ,” And the master was angry and
delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to
him . So my heavenly Father will do so to you if each of you from his
heart does not forgive his brother his trespasses. When we forgive ,we
close any legal ground of the devil to bring us a spirit of torment and
any other attack on our lives. Forgivesness is a key to freedom. We
ourselves have had our sins forgiven and this has brought us into
tremedous freedom which has brought access to the many blessing of
God. So we must choose to forgive and be victorious.

Guilt

It is the fact or state of having committed an offense, crime, violation, or

wrong, especially against moral or penal law;
It is also a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, crime,
wrong, etc., whether real or imagined and not forgiving ones self. Guilt is
basically living life without forgiving oneself . Many people feel that
they are not worth forgiving and go about living under condemnation.
They fail to forgive themselves also and allow themselves to he
tormented by the devil who reminds of their sin and makes them feel
worthless. When we have sinned and confessed our sins , God is
faithful to forgive us and will not condemn us. He wipes away that sin
and it will be just like we have not sinned in his eyes. In John 8:7, 9-
11 , Jesus forgave the woman who was caught in adultery and was by
law of the Jews, supposed to be stoned to death .
God's heart towards us is to forgive us and for us not sin anymore
because he wants to fellowship with us. But sin seperates us from

him . So he chooses to forgive us when we repent so that our
fellowship with him is restored. God does not want to judge us but
wants us to be saved and that is why he gave his only begotten son so
that we could be forgiven of our sins.

So if God could forgive us for many abominations we perpertrated , so

why should we not forgive ourselves. Guilt brings forth low self worth
and destroys our potential. It also causes one to live in shame and fear.
We also cannot receive the promises of the kingdom because we are
not in the Kingdom. Roman 14:17 says , “ The kingdom of God is not
about eating and drinking , but righteousness , peace and joy in the
Holy Ghost.” When we have guilt , we have no peace and joy and as a
result we are out of the kingdom of God and therefore have no legal
claims to the benefits of the kingdom. So when we have sinned and
done wrong , we must repent and turn away from our sins and God
will render us guiltless. But if we fail to repent , we go about guilty and
shame faced and therefore our sin remains. So like King David , we
must learn to quickly identify our error and repent of it and never go
back to our vomit so that we may dwell in the kingdom and be
partakers of his devine inheritance.

We must also forgive ourselves. Failure to forgive ourselves can cause

us to become wreckless ending up even more deep in sin or it can
cause us to become withdrawn , tormented ,depressed or even
suicidal.

Anger

There is anger which is not bad and which the saints of God must have
, that is anger toward sin according to Ps7:11, God himself was angry
with sinners. In Numbers 16:15 , when Korah , Dathan and Abiram led

a rebellion against Moses leadership, Moses was very angry and prayed
to God in anger and the rebellious suffered the wrath of God.

Ephesians 4:26 says , Be angry but do not sin . Do not let the sun go
down on your wrath nor give place to the devil. Acceptable anger is
anger toward sin .James 1:19-20 says,” We must be slow to wrath
because the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Our anger can cause us to react foolishly . When angry , we tend to
make irrational decisions which may have detrimental results which we
regret when the anger has subsided . Sometimes when one is
angry ,they tend to say things which they regret having said when the
anger is gone . In a fit of anger some have cursed themselves or even
God or their situation . Proverbs 29:11,20 says, “ A fool vents his
feelings but a wise man holds them back . Vs 20 says “ Do you see a
man hasty in his words , there is more hope for a fool than for him.
Anger causes one to be hurtful and abusive to others .

Anger can cause us to clam up that is it causes us to store up the anger

inside us . The anger builds up into bitterness and grudges . It causes
us to habour malice and the desire to hurt others . We must learn to
quickly let go of our wrath before it opens a door for the devil to enter
in. Hidden anger can foster rebellion and can be used by the devil to
bring spiritual harm to the one it is directed at. The devil manipulates
the human spirit since one will be in a state of sin already and he cause
the one angered to curse the one whio made him angry causing
calamities to fall on the one who offended them. So let us quickly
learn to forgive and not sleep on our anger because can be
distastorous and a mighty door for the devil to come through.

Sin

Galatians 5:16-21 lists the works of the flesh that keep us from
entering the kingdom of God. God hates sin and he will not look upon
it and thus when we continually sin we break our fellowship with him.
When we sin , its very difficult to come before God's presence. Our
consience will not let us . Because of the broken fellowship , we can't
the benefits of the kingdom of God. When we operate in the flesh that
is in carnality in order to fulfill the lust of the flesh we deny ourselves
entrance into the kingdom of God. Sin gives the devil legal access to
launch attacks on us . Where there is sin , there is darkness and the
devil has the right to operate in darkness . God is light and when we
sin we are out of that light and we begin to operate in the stronghold
of the devil.

Attitude

The motive behind our seeking deliverance must be so that we be free

to take part in the advancement of the kingdom of God. If our motive
is so that we feed our flesh then we can be guaranteed the wrath of
God. Our deliverance must not be so that we can have more money
and material possession as show cased by some deliverance on the
media. When demons leave , the kingdom of God is advanced and so
once we are free from the devil's bondage and begin to live in the
kingdom of God , then we are guarenteed the benefits of the
Kingdom . The word of God say that Christ came so that we may have
life in abundance and so once we live in the Kingdom of God we have
access to that abundant life. God is seeking to have a relationship with
us and he wants us to live under his rule and governance and as Sons
and heirs to his glorious Inheritance with Christ . So our first port of
call when we seek deliverance is to make sure that our relationship
with God is right. If we seek deliverance outside a relationship with

God we stand to see the demons once removed , return and with
seven more deadly ones according to Matthew 12:43.

Wrong spiritual warfare strategies

We have been bombarded by many doctrines surrounding

deliverance . Ephesians 6:10 says ,’ We do not fight against flesh and
blood . But there are doctrines that enocourages people to pray
against diabolical people or people we suspect are enforcing
wickedness in us. Most people serving in the kingdom of darkness are
they themselves deceived . Some were initiated unknowingly . So were
deceived by the love of money and power. Some found themselves
practicing the occult because they were born in it. They themselves are
in need of delivance and salvation of God. So when when we do
spiritual warfare , our prayers are targetted at the spirits behind and its
is always best to ask for the guidance of the Holy spirit to direct our
prayers . God is the righteous judge and he will judge accordingly. As
his saints , we must pray that His will to be done , forgiving those who
persecute us and surrendering them to Him. God doesn’t want anyone
to perish but wants everyone to be saved .

Confidence in man

Deliverance is from the Lord through the blood of Jesus and the power of his
annointing. God uses man as vessels through the power of the Holy spirit to
administer healing and work miracles. There are people God has given the
mantle to bring about deliverance and healing though also the children of God
by faith can obtain it too. It is our gift from him. There are people who operate
more in that gift because he has given them the ministry to administer healing
and miracles. When we solicit the help of deliverance ministers , our confidence

should never be in them but in the Lord to deliver us. The deliverance ministers is
but an instrument to guide and walk with those in need of ministering. It is
through our faith and belief that we are delivered. Jesus could not administer
much healing where there was unbelief.

No deliverance minister by himself can heal anyone. It is only by the power of the
holy spirit. Therefore it is wrong for us to go about putting on ammulets , wrest
bands and having their pictures as a form of protection. Our protection comes
from God . When we do this , its similar to the occultic practise of putting on
charms for our protection.A person can be gifted but the annointing they carry is
only known by themselves and God. There are many wolves in sheeps clothing
going around masquarading as man of God and yet are agents of the devil. We
are in an age which was prophesied by Paul to Timothy were there will be a rise
in false teachers and man of God. They even perform miracles , signs and
wonders under the power of witchcraft. We must be careful and test the spirits
as the word of God commands us to do. Such people you will know by the fruit
they produce. The word of God says a good tree will not produce rotten fruit .
The fruit of the spirit should be evident in true servant of God. They must have
love , joy, peace , patients , kindness , goodness , meekness , faithfulness and
selfcontrol.

A deliverance worker who is manipulative , controlling , self serving , proud ,

arrogant and unteachable is not imbibing the spirit of God but of witchcraft
which is the spirit of the devil . Also we must flee from those who take the glory
for themselves . God will not share His glory with anyone.God created us with
gifts and the annointing gives us the devine emamblement to operate in those
gifts . There is the annointing of God that is Holy and the power of the devil
which is witchcraft . So we must be careful and be sure that the person leading
us is not operating under the power of the devil , which perpertuates our
bondage.

Words

The words we speak frame our lives . Words have creative power and just as in
Genesis 1 , God created the worlds by His spoken word , we His creation also
have the power to to speak things into existance . Our words can curse us or can

agree with God. Negative words give the devil power to enforce his wicked
schemes in our lives . Joshua 1:8 , Joshua was told to meditate on the word of
God day in and day out in order to have good sucess . When our our thoughts
are of the word of God , that is what we begin to speak and the word of God is
life giving. So we must guard our hearts because out of its abundance our mouth
speaks. Our words have power to give life or death . So we must be careful of
what we speak beacuse what we speak is what we will reap.

Fear

Fear acts in exact opposite to faith . It brings about dread and discouragement
whilst faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation upon
which we aquire the things we long for .It is all the evidence to prove that which
is still unseen according to Hebrews 11:1 ( Tpt). Fear gives the devil legal rights
to afflict us . Fear causes us to be tormented and sucuumb to intimidation and
control . It paralyses us and cause us not to act in our own defence. It opens
doors for the devil to continue to pursue us and we become pawns in his hands.
God did not give us a spirit of fear , but of love , power and a sound
mind( 1Timothy). This shows that where there is fear , there is no love and
soundness of mind . A lot of people who have phobias have come under the
terrorizing power of the devil which has limited them and caused them to be
unable to function normally in society.

Resources for spiritual warfare

The battle for the advancement of the Kingdom of God is real and spiritual.The
scriptures below give us a picture.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 , "For the weapons of our warfare are not physical
[weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow
and destruction of strongholds. (In as much as we) refute arguments and
theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up
against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose
away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

Ephesians 6:12 , " For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending
only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers,
against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness,
against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Zechariah 4:6I , "Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the
candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the
word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My
Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts."

We need to learn as much as we can about rules of the battles , battle plans ,
strategies, the enemy’s nature and his devices . God has given us resources which
we can use to overpower the devil and also tactics for employing them. The
resources we have to engage in spiritual warfare are as listed below-:

1. The armour of God

2. Praise and worship

3. The word of God

4. The blood of Jesus

5. The testimony of Jesus

6 . The Holy Spirit

7. The name of Jesus

8. Prayer and intercession

9. The authority of Jesus

10. Angels of God.

11. Fasting

We enter into the spiritual battle with the assurance that Satan was defeated
according to Colossian 2:15 which says, “God] disarmed the principalities and
powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example
of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].1 Peter 3:22 also
says ,” ][And He] has now entered into heaven and is at the right hand of God,
with [all] angels and authorities and powers made subservent to Him.

Jesus sits at the right hand of the father waiting for His enemies to be made a
footstool according to Psalms 110: 1 which says ,” THE Lord (God) says to my
Lord (the Messiah), Sit at My right hand, until I make Your adversaries Your
footstool. [Matt. 26:64; Acts 2:34; I Cor. 15:25; Col. 3:1; Heb. 12:2.]. We his
body are the ones mandated to make His enemies his footstool by enforcing the
victory on the cross and advancing the kingdom of God using the power of
attorney he has given us through his name and his blood. What happened on
the cross was a legal transation and it needs those represented to take the land
that was won on their behalf physically enforcing the victory. What Christ did
was get our title deeds back so we obtained our legal ownership but having the
title deed in your hands its not enough. One must physically possess the land for
it to be a full victory. That mandate was given to us the children of God, to
establish God’s rule and. boot out the illegal occupant , the devil who had been
occupying our space for too long.

The repossessing of stolen property is not always easy as the illegal occupants
always puts up a fight before he can relinguish the property to its rightful
owners.We must be wary of that fact . Paul in Acts 14: 22 says, “Establishing and
strengthening the souls and the hearts of the disciples, urging and warning and
encouraging them to stand firm in the faith, and [telling them] that it is through
many hardships and tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.No worrior
expects victory without going through pain, suffering , perseverance in the midst
of discouragement.

Its easier to value something when we have gone through pains to obtains
it .Proverbs 20:21]An inheritance hastily gotten [by greedy, unjust means] at the
beginning, in the end it will not be blessed. [Prov. 28:20; Hab. 2:6.] . Our
suffering produces Godly charater according to James 1: 2-4 which says,”
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or
encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.Be assured and
understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and
steadfastness and patience.But let endurance and steadfastness and patience
have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and
fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

The armour of God

Ephesians 6:12-18

[12]For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical
opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master
spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces
of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

[13]Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and
stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis
demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

[14]Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth
around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral
rectitude and right standing with God,

[15]And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-
footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news]
of the Gospel of peace. [Isa. 52:7.]

[16]Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can
quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].

[17]And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which
is the Word of God.

[18]Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all
[manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong
purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's
consecrated people).

We put on the armour of God to be able to withstand the fiery darts of the
enemy - All parts of the armour of God gives us protection from arrows
specifically targeted at areas that cause us not to otain victory. Also those are

areas which the devil can use as legal ground against us.We will look at the parts
of the armour of God in detail and in the given order.

The belt of truth

Truth is the foundation of everything The truth of our Lord Jesus Christ and His
finished work on the cross is a bedrock upon which we stand if we must achieve
victory. Many people have fallen into deception and remain in bondage. Truth
will set you free and keep you from chasing after vain things. We see that a belt
holds things up. Our truth can only be found in the word of God. There are many
deceptive spirits moving around the world but as the saints of God , we must live
with the word of truth as our blue print. Jesus is the only truth that leads us ito
the Father . John 14:6 says , “Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and
the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

Jesus is the only truth and when we stand upon Him as the word of truth , we
are able to counter the darts of the enemy. Eve our matriach was brought into
disception after the devil managed to make her question God's truth. This gave
access to the devil to cause her and her husband to sin against God.

When we know the truth , we are able to counter temptation. In Mathew 4 , we

see that Jesus overcame the devil’s tempations by using the word of truth to
resists temptation . The devil knows the scriptures and can use them to justifiy
himself in a twisted way so we need to know the word for ourselves so we will
never be decieved when something twisted is being presented to us.

We must know what God says about every situation eg marriage , finances ,
relations , etc .When you do not know the truth , you can’t really fight for what
ever the devil is trying to steal , kill or destroy in your life . But when you know
the truth, you can be able to stand declaring the word of God and thus
defeating his evil intentions.

As African, are born into a culture and tradition that is seeped in occultism .
Without the truth , you can be bound to the occult and continue in demonic
practises. But with the word of God , you can begin to desist from those
practises . God in Hosea 4:6 says , My people persih becaue of lack of

knowledge. So we must seek the knowledge of God so we do not perish as we
continue doing things God hates in ignorance. We must know God’s point of
veiw concerning all matters and begin to live according to His point of veiw and
not man’s if we want to live victorious lives.

Breastplate of righteousness.

To be righteous is to be in right standing with God. When Christ died and rose
again he obtained righteousness on our behalf and imputed it on us. By
ourselves we cannot be righteous. The word of God says our righteousness is as
filthy rags before God. So when we put on the breastplate of righteousness , we
put on Christ who is the Lord our righteousness. The breastplate potects our
chest and heart area . Our heart is synonymous to our spirit which is saved on the
day we get born again. But it has to be protected against issues of life that can
bring about bitterness and unforgiveness. If our hearts are not circumcised, we
may end up conceiving things that displease God and bring us out of alignment
with God. According to Roman 14:17 , righteouness is one of the attributes of
the kingdom of God so we need the breastplate of righteouness to attiain the
benefits of the kingdom of God. When we are righteous , the devil finds no legal
grounds to accuse us thus cannot launch his attacks. So we must strive daily to
put on the breastplate of righteousness so as to guard our heart form the issues
of life .

The helmet of salvation

The helmet protects our head which harbours our mind which is our
emotions ,thoughts and will. The devils major attacks on the saints of
God is through the mind where he tries his level best to cause the
saints of God doubt God by giving them negative thoughts and
suggestions that will cause us to question God or to doubt his word.
The devil can also capture the mind of a person to a point that they

can lose their salvation. According to 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 , our major
battles are fought in our mind . Romans 12:1-2 , says we must renew
our minds so we are not conformed to this world. When we remain
connected to the world standards and refuse to put on the helmet of
salvation , we stand the risk of backsliding.

Preparation to preach the gospel of truth

The kingdom of darkness strives in chaos and disorder. Where ever

there is chaos , the devil and his cohorts prevail. Our Lord is the prince
of peace. He rules our hearts with peace . When he was on the earth
he said to the disciples, “My peace I leave with you. We must be
instruments of peace where ever we go so as to prevail against the
kingdom of darkness. According to Romans14:17 , peace in the Holy
Ghost is one of the instruments of the Kingdom of God. Also in
Matthew 5:9, it say ‘ Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be
called the sons of God. Where there is the peace of God , there is the
kingdom of God . So on our feet we must always be ready to bring
about peace in much chaos and confusion.

The sword of the spirit ( the word of God)

The word of God is His blueprint for our lives. We are commanded to
live according to His commands and precept found in His word in
order for us to have good sucess .Joshua 1:8 , says , “ This Book of the
Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day
and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written
in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will
have good success. To suceed we need to now the will of God for our
lives. Our sucess in life is measured by how much we have
accomplished the purposes God he has for us.

God’s word is His creative power on this earth because by it he framed

the word. His word in us cause things to also be created according to
his will and plans. His word does not return to him void , but it
accomplishes what he purposes it (Isaiah 55 ).

In Matthew 4 when Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil , He

defeated the devil using the word of God. A true word of God in the
mouth of a believer cause the devil to depart. The devil cannot stand
truth. He is silenced when we stand on the truth.

So the word of God should be the standard upon which we live so that
the devil will have no basis to accuse us in the courts of heaven.

The sheild of faith

A shield is used in battle times to ward off the fiery darts of the
enemy. The devil our enemy loves to send firey arrows against the
saints of God. He sents arrows of doubt, discouragement and
disappointment against the saints of God in order for them to lose
faith in God. He also brings upon them many temptations and
hardships . We need the shield of faith in order to withstand those
fiery darts of the devil. Faith comes by hearing the word of God and so
we need to stay hearing the word of God and meditating on it. Jude
20 says we need to build ourselves in the most Holy faith by praying in
the spirit , so we also need to devleop a lifestyle of praying in the spirit.
Hebrews 11:6 says , “But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a
rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Faith is the currency
through which we appropriate things in the kimgdom of God. Jesus
could only miracles where there was faith. Lack of faith renders the
power of God weak.

Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you
can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted
in the sea,’ and it would obey you. So even little faith is able to cause
Christ to move on our behalf.

Praying with all manner of prayer in the spirit

Romans 8:26 says , “ Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the
Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of
the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to
the will of God. “ When we pray in the spirit , we allow the Holy spirit
to pray and make intercessions on our behalf when he do not know
how we aught to pray. Also He helps us to pray the will of God over a
situation.

When we pray , we remain alert and as a result are able to quicklly

counter the attacks of the enemy. When we are in constant
communion with God he begins to give us revelation of the root of our
problems and the prayer strategy to engage for a particular situation.

In the next chapter we discuss the other resources God has given us in
order to effectively wage spiritual warfare.

 Chapter 5

Praise and worship

God created the earth with creatures great and small to reflect His
glory. He created the human kingdom in His image in order for us to
have a relationship of love with him. In Isaiah 43:21 , it is said , ‘ The
people I formed for myself shall declare my praise. In Revelations 4 ,
this is the story of the vision of the throne room of heaven given to

John the revelator. He saw in His vision how worship is perpetually
being offered before the throne of God. Twenty four hours a day , the
24 elder are ever praising God together with the seraphim and
cherabims. God deserves our praises and our worship because
everything he created for his pleasure.

Praise and worship is based on devine revelation . It is an outward

physical manifestation of and inward attitude of the heart. We give
reverance to God through thanksgiving , praise and worship.
Thanksgiving relates to God's deed , praise relates to his character and
worship relates to his Holyness.

When we praise God we cause him to rise up and move on our

behalf . Our God inhabits the praises of His people. When we worship
God with all our hearts , His glory comes down. 2 Chronicles 20 , the
children of Israel where surrounded by the Ammonites , Moabites and
other enemies. Jehoshophat set himself to seek God and he gave him
a strategy through Jahaziel the prophet. The musicians went before
the army of God singing and praising God. God set ambushes against
the enemies who had surrounded them and thus they defeated.

In the book of Acts 16:16-24 , Paul and Silas where imprisoned . As
they began to worship God in Vs 25 at midnight. Suddenly an
earthquake shook the foundations of the prison and all the prison
doors opened and chains were loosed.

Our worship causes prison doors to open and chains to be loosed and
causes ambushes to be set against our enemies.

Worship calms depression and causes demons to flee. In the book of 1

Samuel 16:14-23. King Saul was tormented by a depressing spirit . It
took David playing the harp for Saul to be refreshed and dIstressing
spirit would depart from Hiim.

 Chapter 6

The word of God

The word of God is the Standard upon which His childen should live
by. There are many things that are beneficial to us if we live according
to the word of God. In Deutronomy 28:1-14 it says ,

[1]IF YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being
watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day,
the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.

[2]And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you
heed the voice of the Lord your God.

[3]Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field.

[4]Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground
and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young
of your flock.

[5]Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading trough.

[6]Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be
when you go out.

[7]The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be
defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way
and flee before you seven ways.

[8]The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse
and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which
the Lord your God gives you.

[9]The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has
sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God
and walk in His ways.

[10]And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the
name [and in the presence of] the Lord, and they shall be afraid of
you.

[11]And the Lord shall make you have a surplus of prosperity, through
the fruit of your body, of your livestock, and of your ground, in the
land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.

[12]The Lord shall open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give
the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your
hands; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

[13]And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you
shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the
commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day
and are watchful to do them.

[14]And you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I
command you this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after
other gods to serve them.

The above scripture show the benefits of obeying the word of God
which are-:

1. Blessings in the city and in the country.

2. The fruit of our womb will be blessed and all our produce and
peovision.

3. God will cause our enmies to flea from before us i. He will fight our
battles on our behalf.

4. God will command a blessing upon our stors houses and on what
we set our hand to do. . He will also bless the land which He has given
us..

5. Go will establish us as His Holy people to Himself

6. Thee people who are around uz will know that we are called by his
name and will fear us. Therefore our enemies will not be able to stand
before us becuase of the word of God.in which we abide.

7. God will bring increase and abundance upon our produce , livestock
and the fruit of our body. All thiz the devil works against us attaining.

8. The Lord will open to us His good treasuries to give rain to our land
in the due season. He will remove the famine and hunger and will
bless the works of our hands .

9. He will cause us to never borrow but to lend to many.

10. He will exalt us cause us to be above and not bellow. He make us

the head and not the tail.

Basically when we adhere to the word of God , we are empowered to

prosper.

Good sucess and prosperity

Joshua 1:8

[8]This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you
shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do
according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way
prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good Sucess.

When we abide in the word of God we have good sucess and
prosperity.

Answered prayer

If we abide in the word of God , we are able to make petitions and

they will be done so that God is glorified.John 15:7

[7]If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in
you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it
shall be done for you.

Truth that sets us free.

John 8:31-32

[31]So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide
in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with
them], you are truly My disciples.

[32]And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

There is freedom when we abide in the word . We get to know the

truth and will never be victim to the devils twisted lies and deception.

God’s commands are everlasting and they give us the rout to true life
in Christ Jesus.

Fruitfulness

John 15:5,7-8

[5]I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in
him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off
from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

[7]If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in
you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it
shall be done for you.

[8]When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and

glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of
Mine.

When the word of God dwells in us and we dwell in Him , we bare

much fruit and God is glorified.

So far we have seen that if we dwell in the word of God and abide in it
we have prosperity , blessings and fruitfulness through answered
prayer.

Gods word is establiahed forever

God’s word is forever settled in heaven and for as long as heaven and
earth shall remain not a single one of it shall be removed.

Numbers 23:19

[19]God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of
man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has
promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and
shall He not make it good?

God does not go back on His word but stands by it forever.

God's word produces results

Isaiah 55:10-11

[10]For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and
return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth
and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
[II Cor. 9:10.]

[11]So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not
return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall
accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the
thing for which I sent it to accomplish.

When we speak the word of God in times of warfare concerning our

lives , we agree with with God to bring about what he sent it forth to
accomplish. When we speak the word of God , we are decreeing
God's creative power over the situation to bring the word of God to
pass over the situation.

The devil doesn not want us to agree with God's word and so most
times influences us to speak negative words . He gives us negative
thought . Also he capitalises on our ignorance of God's word. Many
Christians do not dwell in the word of God and so can be easily
deceived . It is difficult to wage war without the word of God because

the devil responds to the word of God. Even God's angels hearken to
the word of God.

The devil has deceived people for years by twisting the scriptures to
suite his agenda. He capitalises on the fact that many people not read
the bible . They relie on other people’s revelation of God’s word. The
danger is that we can rely on a person who is also deceived or in the
devil’s service.

So its important to seek the word of God for ourself so as to get our
own personal revelation and rhema word.

The word of God is the sword of the spirit

In Ephesians 6:18, the word of God is refered to as the sword of the

spirit which is used to cut off all the darts of the enemy. Jesus used the
word of God to defeat the devil in Matthew 4 when He was tempted
by the devil.

The word helps our faith

The word of God says that faith comes by hearing the word of God. So
to be able to stand against the attacks of the devil we must know the
word and counter every negative word of the devil. Victory can be
attained when we stans upon the word of God and are not shaken.

From the word of God see that prosperity comes when we dwell in the
word of God so when we are faced with issues of poverty and failure
we must meditate on the word of God and adhere to it in order to be
fruitfuil , blessed and prosperous so we attain good success.

The Blood of Jesus

The blood of animals was used in the old testament to cut covenents.
The Israelites were required to bring sacrifices to the alter of the
tabernacle in order to atone for their sins . The blood was offered as a
symbol of the covenant established between God and His children. In
the New testament , the blood of buls and goats was replaced once
and for all by the blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ which became the
ultimate atonement of sin . It established a permant covenant between
God and His children . The blood of Jesus reconciled believers
permanantly with God.

The life of every creature is in it’s blood. Blood is sacred to God and so
he commanded the children of God not to eat the blood of any
animal.

The devil understands this and as his mission is to go against anytjing

God commands, he has devalued blood and uses it as food for his
followers. He also uses it as a source to attain power for his agents

inorder for them to accomplish his diabolic missions. He has placed
value in the shedding of the blood of human beings as a way to spite
God. He also makes diabolic covenants with blood of animals and even
human beings.

What is a covanent

A covenant is a will aggreement made between parties for instance

between a husband and a wife, friends, business partners , people
seeking for protection for those in power,etc. King David and Jonathan
, Saul’s had a covenant of friendship.

A covenant is guided by rules. It is as old as the creation. In the garden

of Eden , God had a covenant with Adam until he broke it when he
disobeyed God . God had stipulated to Adam not to eat from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil. He was to subdue the earth and
have dominion over it. He was given rulership over it. Adam however
broke the stipulations and ate from the tree thus breaking off the
covenant and so death resulted. A covenant between willing parties is
broken by death. This means if one breaks the stipulations of a
covenant , the result can be death and or when one of the parties
dies , then the Covenant is broken . For example ,the covenant of

marriage is broken when one of the spouses dies , leaving the
remaining spouses free to remarry if they want to.

A covenant if maintained well entails that each of the parties is a co-

owner of what the other has. Each party is entitled to the other’s -:

1. Protection

2. Provision

How is a covenant cut?

1. There is an exchange of gifts between the two parties.

2. There is mingling of blood whereby the parties make incisions on

their fingers and drip the blood in wine before a priest . They then
drink the wine.

3. They then press their fingers their together where they made
incisions fortheir blood to mingle

4. They then plant a memorial tree that serves as evidence of the

covenant. They are then expected to abide by the stipulations that
guide the covenant and should not break them.

In marriage , the covenant is effected when the marriage is
consumated .

Nowadays , people sign contracts and put stamps and signitures on

aggreements as a sign of it authenticity. When the agreement it
breached then consequences come upon the one who broke the
agreement.

There is always bloodshed when a covenant is cut. In the the Old

Testament , God cut a covenant with Abram in Genesis 17. He used an
animal as a substitue for himself and Abraham was commanded to
circumcise himself . This covenant was permanant. It lasted until the
coming of Christ who came with an even better covenant. In this case
God did not substitue himself but shed his own blood for there to be a
covenant with blood that spoke better things.

Because of the covenant between God and Abraham , Abraham

became entitled to God’s protection , provision and establishment of
the promises of God. The requirement was that Abraham walk
uprightly and be holy(Genesis 17:1).

Also they had to be circumcised. They would be cut off if thet were not
circumcised . God changed their names and gave them names

signifing that both Sarah and Abraham belonged to him because of
the covenant.

Moses was given the law of the covenant of God at Mount Sinai but
broke it when he came down the mountain and saw the children of
Israel in debauchery. They were then required to atone for their sins by
the blood of animals sacrificed by the High priest of God inorder to
remain in covenant with God. The atonement only covered the sin but
did not remove it. This mean't they had to regulary make those
atonFements in order to remain in covenant .

The new Covenant

In the new covenant , the lamb of the covenant was Jesus God instead
of substituting himself with the blood of animals , gave up His only
begotten son and offered the blood of His son as surety of the
covenant . His requirment for us to be in thar covenant is that we
accept the Lordship of Jesus Cbrist and we come under the better
covenant where Christ Jesus is surety.

1. When Christ died , he paid the death penalty that came with
previous covenants. I the previous covenant , there was a death
penallty for most trangression. Peoplw would be stoned to death a lot

of things such as idolarry , stealing , adultery , etc. But Christ wipes
away those transgression when we truelly repent and the puniahment
bybdeath haa been removed.

2. The blood of Jesus earased all the sin and did not just cover it but
took it away and made our slate clean before God. This is how we
have been reconciled to the father and been granted access to Him.
God previously could not look at our sin and it caused us to be
seperated from Him.

3 Jesus Christ gained permanent access into the Holy of Holies and is
now forever making intercesssion on our behalf. His blood became the
access into the Holy of Holies and it is what he present to God on our
behalf to perfect our petitions and prayers.

4. It is the blood of Jesus that stills God's wrath and judgement.

5. The blood of Jesus gains us access into the courts of heaven to allow
us to be able to counter the accusation of the enemy so that we can
present our petitions before God.

6. It allows God's righteous judgement to be effected in our lives. We
are as without blemish. The blood of Jesus justifies us and it is as if we
have never sinned.

Hebrews 9:16-26 says , “Now a person’s last will and testament can
only take effect after one has been proven to have died; otherwise the
will cannot be in force while the person who made it is still alive. 18 So
this is why not even the first covenant was inaugurated without the
blood of animals. 19 For Moses ratified the covenant after he gave the
people all the commandments of the law. He took the blood of calves
and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and a hyssop branch, and
sprinkled both the people and the book of the covenant, 20 saying,
“This is the blood of the covenant that God commands you to keep.”21
And later Moses also sprinkled the tabernacle with blood and every
utensil and item used in their service of worship. 22 Actually, nearly
everything under the law was purified with blood, since forgiveness
only comes through an outpouring of blood. 23 And so it was
necessary for all the earthly symbols of the heavenly realities to be
purified with these animal sacrifices, but the heavenly things
themselves required a superior sacrifice than these. 24 For the Messiah
did not enter into the earthly tabernacle made by men, which was but
an echo of the true sanctuary, but he entered into heaven itself to

appear before the face of God in our place. 25 Under the old system
year after year the high priest entered the most holy sanctuary with
blood that was not his own. But the Messiah did not need to
repeatedly offer himself year after year, 26 for that would mean he
must suffer repeatedly ever since the fall of the world. But now he has
appeared at the fulfillment of the ages to abolish sin once and for all
by the sacrifice of him self!ith God.

What does the blood do for us ?

a. It speaks life and destroys accusations of death and distruction

leveled against us by the enemy

b. It stills God's wrath and justifies us.

c. It destroys the legal rights the devil aet against ua inorde to attack
the lives ofvthe saints of God. The blood denies the him access into our
lives.

d. The blood of Jesus causes God himself to rise up and fight for us in
fulfillment of condition of the covenant we are with him. When the
devilbsee the blood of Jesus presented , he flees because he knows he
is now contending with the great and awesome God who already

defeated him. It ia the same blood that defeated him at tge cross of
Calvary .It triumphed over him and made a public specticle of him.

e. The blood of Jesus breaks curse and brings healing.

Seven areas Jesus’ blood was shed

When Jesus was crucified , His blood was shed in seven different
places breaking different curses represented by those areas.

The firat place His blood was shed was in the garden of Gethsemane
where he prayed travailing that he come under the will of God. He
sweated blood as he fought for the will of man to be brough under
the submiasion of God. Luke 22:43 -44.

2. His blood was shed on the crown of His head as a crown of thorns
was placed upon hia head . This destroyed the curse of toil and
hardship that was leveled on man when Adam sinned against God.

3.He was also stripped 39 times . Isaiah 53:5b says,” By His stripes , we
are healed . The blood that was shed on His back because of the
stripes was a covenant for our healing . He guaranteed our healing.

4. The blood of Jesus was shed in his hands as he was nailed to the
cross destroying the curse of nonproductivity in our hands . The blood
was shed so that the works of our hands would be established
guaranteeing us prosterity and devine provision.

5. Jesus blood was also shed on his feet as he was nailed to the cross.
This blood was shed to destroy bounderies and limitations. Our feet
are our accese to go whereHe sends us and so tje blood of Jesus
gurqnteed us access and where ever we set the soles of our feet we
take possession. We are now enabled by that blood to take back
territory for God.

6. Isaiah 53:5a says, “ He was bruised for our iniquities.” The blood in
his bruises destroyed the power of iniquities in our lives. Iniquity is the
hidden tendency to sin . It is the generational sin that follows the
blood line and which can arise at a given time or circumstance and
begin to torment us. He destroyed the curse of sin when he was
brusied .

7. The blood and water gushed from his heart when it was pierced by
the sword by the centurion in John 19:34. Blood gushed from his heart
as he died from a broken heart to destroy the curse of sorrow and

broken heartedness . Also it was to heal our souls and spirit and unite
our hearts to God.

So when Jesus blood was she , it purchased us from the grip of

Satan’s dominion and power and restored us back into the kingdom of
God. It broke the devils power and restored to us the autjority he had
taken from Adam . Jesu got back that authority and gave it to the sons
of God. The rights of the dev were forever taken away by the shed
blood of our Lord and saviour.

So when we remain ignorant , the devil still accuses us before God and
hIs accusation stands for as long as we defend ourselves by the blood
of Christ that justifies before God. When God sees the blood of Jesus
on us, he remembers the finished work of His son that forever
liberated us from sin and the devils condemnation.

King David fasted in repentence when he sinned against God when he

killed Urriah after having commited adultery with his wife.

The name of Jesus

The word of God says the name of Jesus has been exalted above every
other name . Jesus came to destroy the devices of the devil . When he
died and rose again , he defeated the devil and took back the authority
the devil had taken from man. Jesus took back the keys of death and
hades and obtained dor us the authority to bind and loose things here
on earth as it is in heaven.

The name of Jesus is a dread to the devil and by it the saints of God
have been given authority to transact on behalf of our Lord Jesus
Christ using his name. When Jesus Christ finished his assignment on
the earth , he was gloried and gained the Kingdom of God . His
rulership over all things was restored . The word of God say that all

things were created by him and so all things answer to him.It Also says
the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereoff. Jesus Christs name
causes every knee to bow and every tongue to confess his Lordship
whenever it is mentioned( Philipians 2:9-10).

Even before Jesus was glorified , demons would tremble and flee
because He was operating under the authority of the Father .
John14:10 says,”

[10]Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in
Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My
own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His)
works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

[11]Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else

believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot
trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father's name
convince you.]

Jesus was also known to spend time in prayer communing with the
Father so as to know and do the will.of God. So when he was glorified
, he was reinstated to His former which he had left when he came

down to the earth and took the form of man in order to redeem man.
Hebrews 1-4 .says ,” God appointed him heir of all things .”

Jesus name is greater than the name of any angelic being as he is the
Son of God and heir of all things. He is the express glory of God. The
name of Jesus was confered to Him because he was found worthy to
merit it..

Jesus in turn gave us the right to use that name to transact on His
name half here on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus was given power and
authority over rulers , authorities , principalities and powers and overy
every name that has ever been named on this earth in all the agew
when he sat at the right hand of God.

Jesus’ name was exalted for the sake of the church, His body. The
church has a right to use the name to use it against our enemies , to
petition God and to worship God .

The name over the hosts of hell

Jesus won a tremendous battle for us and was given the highest
authority on the earth. He overcame all the hosts of hell when ye met

demands of justice for the sin of man and therefore obtained
redemption for man.

He left the devil paralysed and defeated. Jesus became a much

stronger man than the strongman the devil according to Luke 11: 21-
22 Luke 11:21-22

[21]When the strong man, fully armed, [from his courtyard] guards his
own dwelling, his belongings are undisturbed [his property is at peace
and is secure].

[22]But when one stronger than he attacks him and conquers him, he
robs him of his whole armor on which he had relied and divides up
and distributes all his goods as plunder (spoil).

So when when Jesus appears on the scene , the devil is paralysed and
when his name is mentioned , the devil has to bow because all
authority has been given to Jesus on earth and in heaven and he has
delegated that authoritt to the saints of God through the use of His
name. We have the right to use it in order to defeat the devil and his
cohorts . With the name of Jesus we can carry out the will of God on
this earth. With the name of Jesus miracles are wrought and doors and
doors for ministry and service an be opened.

Petition

Jesus said in John 14:13, “John 14:13

[13]And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as
presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and
extolled in (through) the Son. [Exod. 3:4). So inorder to access God
with our petition, we use the name of Jesus . Jesus is the way to the
father and our only mediator. So with his name we get access into the
theone of God where we can lay our petitions to God according to
Hebres 4:16 which says ,”Hebrews 4:16

[16]Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the
throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners),
that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in
good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help,
coming just when we need it].

The name of Jesus affords us to reign with hin as we bring in His

kingdom rule through his name. Just like the police of a nation
operates on behalf of the government authorities. We the saints of

God have also the same authority through the name of Jesus to
operate on behalf of His Kingdom of which we belong. So with that
name we can decree things and they will come to passIve.

We can command things according to God’s will and they must obey
and so this way we reign and have dominiin over the earth as God
intented for us initially.

Worship

Jesus is the only way to the Father and so our worship sbould only be
through his name. His name causes every knee to bow and his tongue
to confess that he is Lord. In the book of Revelation 5:8-14. Worship
was given to the lamb of God in the courts of heaven. So also our
worship should be here on earth as it is in heaven.

The Authority of Jesus

According to Genesis 1:28 , when God created man , He gave them

authority to rule and have dominion over the earth. Man was given
dominion over all the other things God created that is the fish in the
sea ( marine kingdom) , the birds of the air and over all living beast
( animal kingdom) , He gave the plant kingdom as source of food . He
also gave us the authority to subdue the earth and replenish it. God
created the earth by speaking it forth into exsitance. That same power
he gave to His chdildren. God’s intention was to rule the earth with the
man . God was created as a vessel through which he would further his
creative agenda on the earth.

In Genesis 3 , man disobeyed God and forfeighted his authority to the
devil and became subject to him. Man was banIshed from the
presence of God and lost his communication he previously had with
him . He no longer dwelt in the glory of God which protected him but
was now subject to the ruthless rule of the devil.

God did not did not create man to dominate another but once he fell
from grace and landed in the hands of the devil, he began to dominate
other man. We see in Genesis chapter 4 whereby Cain the son of
Adam killed his brother Abel. Through out history man has sought to
dominate others through the terroristic rule , wit h raft , socery , wars
pandemics , etc.

Man has become an enemy to himself . We have rumors in the media

of people who are masterminds behind the creation of pandemic as a
means of population control.

Some have developed superior attitudes because of colour. Racism has

been one great tool used by the devil to cause people of one colour to
have dominion over others of different colour.The black race has been
terribly affected by racism.

We also see domination in the family whereby the whole concept of
submission was misunderstood and man thinks that the female gender
is less superior than male. There haa been a lor of abuse of the female
gender byan seeking to dominate them in a bid to enforce submission.
The word of God however says a wamonust subject herslf to her
husband. She muat honour other man but not subject herself to
them . So no man must enforce submission on another mans wife. A
woman answers only to her God and husband then everyone else.

Honour also has been miaunderstood. Honour is earned and not

forced and so we see those in powee wanting to enforce others to
honour them which results in domination.

The Order of the Kindgoms Created by God

The kingdoms created by God are in the to ing heirachial order-:

a. Kingdom of God

b. Human Kingdom

c. animal Kingdom

We see man subjecting themselves to animals through totems. There

are some religions and ethnic grpups that venerate animals to the
point that if a person kills such an animal they can be sentenced to
death. There are some African cultures which worship serpents and
anyone who kills a snake can be in grave trouble. The Baal worshipers
worship cows especially the Hindu and Indian Religions. In Southern
Africa, many have totems usually symbolysed by animal.Theae animals
are revered that is they are regaerded with such awe and devotion.
Anything you give that much devotion to becomes an object of
worahip. In this caae people exchanged the glory of God and
subjected themselves under the domination of the animal kingdom.
They began to take on the traits of the animal that they revere. popular
saying by a mighty woman of God is that ,” You become what you
behold.” So instead of beholding God and becoming more and more
like him , man have subjected themselves under the reverance of
animals and end up behaving just like the animal that they revere.

Totems are also used by the agents of darkness to keep us connected
to the kingdom of darkness. Totems give the devil legal rights to to
continue to bring us into bondage. For a witch or witchdoctor to gain
power over us they have to access our past through connecting with
familar spirit . These spirits are spirits that run through the generations
and are as old as our generations. They have all the information about
our past. So inorder for another member of the dark world to gain
acess to the thinhs in oir generations , they use the totem to gain
access to those familiar spirits in order to seek legal right to continue
your bondage.

The plant kingdom

Plants ans herbs were given for food for all living creatures on the
earth. The devil has howevwr used some plants to create drugs and
chemicals that have been used to slowly destroy peoples lives. Drugs
and chemicals like alcohol keep a person from fufilling their God given
assignment because they affect a persons's mental function . A person
intoxicated by alcohol or drugs cannot make proper decisions as tjose
chemicals cause alterations to the chemical balances of the brain .
They affect the speech and raye of reaction of a person . Most people
when intoxicated bring themaelves into a place of numbness and are

have done henious things only to remember when the intoxification is
gone.

Smoking has been a cause of cance and essentially defiles the body
created to be Holy.

Many young peoole have lost their lives under intoxification by either
overdosing , being involved in accidents , being murdered or abused
both physically and sexually. Drugs and alcohol can bring about
sickness and disease.

The mineral Kingdom

This Kingdom though being the least in heirachy has had the greatest
impact on man. This kingdom consist of the water animals and
minerals.

Man has subjected himself to the love of money to the point that he
can do anything for it.

thwie high levels of manipulation, domination and control. They are
responsible dor the false religionsg, false prophecy , false signs and
wonders and everything that goes against God. They over wealth and
riches in exvhange of ones soul. They are the spirit behind sexual
perveration, seduction and prostititions .

The spirit of Leviathin which is a spirit of pride is also a water spirit and
is usually levelled at the church to bring the man of God down.

People in the dark word have never stopped using their authority .
They use it backed up by the spirit of witchcraft which is the spirit of
the devil. They have for years subjected the children of God under

The agents of darkness have manipulated the eatth , the air, the sun,
moon , stars , water and fire. They use words to curse and subdue the
world and manipulate destinies and do things that go contrary to the
will and purpose of God. They use their power to continually dominate
the children of God to keep them from rising up to fulfill their
mandatw to advance God's kingdom.

Christ and our restored Authority

When Christ Jesus died and rose again , the word of God says in
that he went down to hell and preached to those who where there
and took from them the keys of death and hades . He defeated the
devil and unlocked allnthenprision doors and set us free dron the

However Christ Jesus unlocled those prision doors and has given us the
authority to walk out of those prisons .

In Matthew 10:1 , Jesus gave the disciples the power over unclean
spirits and to cast them out to heal sickness and disease and to preach
the gospel of the kingdom of God.

Matthew 12:28 says, Matthew 12:28

[28]But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out the demons, then
the kingdom of God has come upon you [before you expected it].

So here we see that the Kingdom of God will come as we exercise

authority and dominion over the kingdom of darkness by binding the
strong man and casting out devils and unclean spirits. . After the death
and resurrection of Christ , Jesus comissioned his disciples saying ,” Alk
authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth . Go therefore
and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the
father , the Son and the Holy spirit , teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded you and Lo , I am with you always even
to the end of the ages .

God created the earth for His sons to rule together with him. He gave
the man creative power through dreams , visions and in the last
century there has been tremendous advancement in inventions and
technology and science . It is only God who gives us the power to
create things and discover things in creation through science. He gave
us the power to muster the earth and work it to make it habitable and
to glorify him. The lost authority that had been stolen from man by the
devil was restored bacj to us when Jesus Christ died in our stead and
redeemed it back for us.

The saints of God are ignorant and often are defeated because they do
not know the wealth of power they weild over the devil because of the
blood of Jesus that purchased it for us. As a result they remain
defeated because of this ignorance ans fear. . Most magnify the power
of the devil and the devil has sold a lie that certian things are for us to
handle . And when we remove the Lord from the equation of our
lives , we live in perpetual defeat . As his children we should never
have compartments in our life were some compartment we reserve for
God and others we handle ourselves. We must surrender our whole
lives to him in order to be victorious all the way.

The devil is powerful and has been in his trade a long time. Also he is a
supernatural being and was once part of the archangels of God and by
ourselves we are no match for. However with Christ in us he cannot
stand against for Christ is greater and more powerful and has already
defeated the devil.With Christ we have unimaginable power and ther
devil cannot stand against a saint of God who is filled with Christ and
God's spirit and who also knows his authority.

We often suffer defeat because we fail to realise that the authority of

Jesus Christ is us is greater than that of the devil and that we have
been given it to use it to defeat the devil and his cohorts .

Jesus gave us power to tread over serpents and scorpions according to

Luke 10:19. We have been given the autjority to transact on his behalf
to enforce the Kingdom of God's rule on the earth through His , blood
, name testimony. When we mention his name everything on the erath
submits to that name.

Every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord. Now
we the children of God are called to enforce that rule on the earth by
destroying devlish strongholds and ezcercising dominion .

We are called to exercise dominion over all creation except fellow
humans . We are to muster drug abuse , being subject to animal
control and mammon and over all the devils spirit. Insteaad of teaming
with demonic spirits and remaining under occultic incluence , we must
arise and know our rights as children of God and begin to excise the
autjority to bring everything into subjection of God’s will , dominion
and authority.

Chapter 10

The Testimony of Jesus

Revelation 12:11

[11]And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood

of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not

love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives
cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

A testimony is a personal account , witness , first hand experience ,

evidence and proof of some fact.

Our testimony is our witness and proof of what Christ has done for us.
It is the proof or witness of his finished work and what he
accomplished for us on the cross of calvary. In Col 2 : 12-15 we are
told that he triumphed over the devil making a public specticle over
him and that his blood erased every handwritting of ordinance made
against us. We atest to tjis by the way we live bearing the fuit of the
spirit and abiding in the law of the spirit and abiding in the law of the
Spirit of life in Christ . Our testimony that we are in Christ is evidenced
by how we live our lives. Its not about telling people about how your
prayers have been answered but it is about people seeing the evidence
of Christ in your life as you become more and more like him. As we
begin to be transformed and renewed in our thinking and doing all
that is required of us to grow in the Kingdom of God. We testify Jesus
as we leave our sinful behind and begin to pray , meditate daily on the
word , assemble together with genuine believers , give ,present our
bodies as living sacrifices to God and take up the cross of Jesus and

follow him. Also as we seek His Kingdom and righteousness then he is
evidenced in our lives. We testify Christ as we are led by the spirit . In
this case we put to death our inner deeds of the flesh through the
spirit of God. The spirit of God creates a testimony of moral living in us
whereby we begin to develop the character of Christ .

The testimony of Christ is also evidenced as we begin to move in

power and authority by the power of the Holy Spirit and begin to work
like he did doing miracles and setting people free and bringing them
into his glorious kingdom. It is the Holy Spirit in us who testify Christ
through us as we begin to be morally transformed and endowed with
wisdom and power . This is the testimony that overcomes the accuser
of the brothers. God wants to bring is Sons to the point that they can
serve as judges of the world and of the angels . When Jesus Christ has
been formed in the saints , the throne of God is present in them .
There is no power in the heavens , on the earth or in the dark parts of
the below the surface of the earth that can possibly harm someone in
who Christ has been formed and is dwelling.

Loving not their lives to death

We will overcome the devil when we totally surrender our lives to
Christ and totally crucifying our flesh. As we assign our lives to the
cross with Christ and rising up with Him in the power of His
ressurrection , Satan cannot overcome the resurrection of Christ. It
means we have to die to our own personal agenda and allow the will
and purposes of God to prevail. We live in a world whose systems go
contrary to God. The world is at enemity with God. To overcome the
devil , we need to follow the will and law of God and not this world
which is perishing . The worlds stanards and doctrines are opposed to
Godand if we follow them , we might end up condemned.

Galatians 5:19-21 says, “ Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are
clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, Idolatry,
sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions
(dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions,
heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you
beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

These are things that will make us not enter the Kingdom of God. The
flesh is always waring against the spirit of God . It is always seeking
gratification .Things that gratify the flesh are always contrary to the

things of the cross .So taking up the cross is crucifying all those fleshly
desires and begin to live according to the spirit of God that was
imputed on us when we got born again. We have to make the effort
to daily take up the cross and follow Jesus Christ . The word of says
that he who tries to save his own life will lose it . So when we take up
the cross we are saying that it is no longer us that live but Christ who
lives in us .

Matthew 16:24-27 says , “ Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone

desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of,
and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and
follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in
living and, if need be, in dying, also]. For whoever is bent on saving his
[temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life];
and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake
shall find it [life everlasting]. For what will it profit a man if he gains
the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed life in the kingdom of
God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life
[in the kingdom of God]? [27]For the Son of Man is going to come in
the glory (majesty, splendor) of His Father with His angels, and then
He will render account and reward every man in accordance with what
he has done.

Also Luke 9:23-26 says , “ And He said to all, If any person wills to
come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight
of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take
up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform
wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]. For
whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but
whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it [from
the penalty of eternal death]. For what does it profit a man, if he gains
the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself? Because whoever
is ashamed of Me and of My teachings, of him will the Son of Man be
ashamed when He comes in the [threefold] glory (the splendor and
majesty) of Himself and of the Father and of the holy angels.

We are called to live our lives as the children of God conformed to the
way Christ Jesus lived. He is our perfect example of we are supposee to
live. When we spend our lives chasing after the things this world has to
offer , we end up losing everything but as we puruse God , we come
into the fulness of God’s provision and blessing.

When we are living within God’s mandate , we have a blessing. God

blesses us so that we are able to fulfill His mandate. So even if we

forfeit the things of the world and follow God’s mandate , we can
never go wrong.

Luke 9:62 says , “ Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the
plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of
God. “ The above scripture shows us that once you have made up your
mind to come into the kingdom of God , there is no longer any looking
back and going back to partake of the things of the world. It means
we have to remove ourselves from the cultures and traditions of man
that usually are contrary God. We have to adhere to the culture of
Christ which wae spelt out for us clearly in the new Covenant.

Pride of life

We live in a culture that esteems a person for their sucess obtained in

their own strength. Its very rare that a person is esteemed for being in
right standing with God. The world measures a persons sucess
according the worldly accolades they have obtained , how much
money they have in the bank and how much worldly possessions they
have obtained. In most cases we see that those things can never fill in
the void that can only be filled in by God. On the other hand , God

measures our sucess on how much we have obeyed him, lived a
crucufied life and on how much we have endured our race and
accomplished our mandate for him. Luke 16:15 says, “ But He said to
them, You are the ones who declare yourselves just and upright before
men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted and highly
thought of among men is detestable and abhorrent (an abomination)
in the sight of God. So we shouldn’t never seek to be esteemed.on this
earth . God doesn’t care so much about how much stuff things we
have accumulated on this earth because all those things come from
him. He is the one who gives us the abilities and the blessing of
material blessing so that we can fulfill the mandate He has given us.

At the end of the day we just live those things behind but we will still
have to account to him how we used the talents that he gave us.

 Chapter 11

Prayer

Prayer is communicating with God. When we pray , we bless God who

created us so that we could be his family and be in fellowship with him
always.

When we pray , we also make petitions and pray in the will of God to
be done here on earth as it is in heaven.

God because of his love for humanity limited himself to act in response
to our prayers. GOD gave the rulership of the earth to the sons of man
and so when we communicate with him in prayer , he downloads his
willband ideas to us. He reveals the mysteries and secret things of
creation when we pray. Yes God is Soveriegn but he also acts in
answer to the prayers of man. In the book of Daniel 9 , Daniel sought

God for the children of Israel to be brought out captivity after seventy
years.

In the new testsament in the book of Luke, we hear of Anna who

interceeded for years for the coming of the messiah .

God longs for the prayers of the saints . The prayers evoke to respond
to bring his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Model of prayer

Jesus Christ in Matthew 6 taught on how to pray.

Matthew 6:9-13

[9]Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed

(kept holy) be Your name.

[10]Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

[11]Give us this day our daily bread.

[12]And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (left, remitted,
and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against) our
debtors.

[13]And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the
evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory
forever. Amen.

The Lord's prayer isa model of how we should pray to God. Jesus
Christ warned against praying for show , praying using twisted , vain
repitition . Also He encouraged that prayer be done in secret and never
for show. Forgiveness is also important when we pray because as we
seek God to fogive our sins , we should also make sure also that we
have forgiven our brothers so our sins will also be forgiven ( Matthew
6: 14-15).

General guideline as modeled by the Lord's prayer

* Reverence to God

We start prayer by giving reverence to God. Giving him his place of

honour . Lauding his name and exalting him

* Praying in the will of God

God has plans and purposes already in place which can only be
established on earth as the saints of God pray in those things here on
earth. There are things in the spirit realm which need to be prayed in .
Also the kingdom rule of God has to be prayed in . The devil has had
authority in the earth for a while but through the prayers of the saints ,
the dominion and rulership of God is established.

Spiritual warfare and declaring the word of God are powerful tools to
bring in the kingdom rule as the kingdom of darkness is moved by the
power of the Holyspirit.

* Pray in Gods provision

God is the one who meet our every need. Here we make petition for
every need that we want met be it health, provision , etc.

* Concencration

Here we pray that God forgives our sins as we forgive others so that
we remain in right standing with him. When we are righteous and our
sins are forgiven , then the accusations of the devil are silenced.

* Protection and deliverance

Here we pray for God to protect us from temptation and from the
wiles of the enemy.We pray for God’s deliverance . Here we pray for
God to help us to overcome habits and sinful acts that keep us from
the Kingdom of God.

Dangers of prayerlessness

Isaiah 32:9-16,20

[9]Rise up, you women who are at ease! Hear my [Isaiah's] voice, you
confident and careless daughters! Listen to what I am saying!

[10]In little more than a year you will be shaken with anxiety, you
careless and complacent women; for the vintage will fail, and the
ingathering will not come.

[11]Tremble, you women who are at ease! Shudder with fear, you
complacent ones! Strip yourselves bare and gird sackcloth upon your
loins [in grief]!

[12]They shall beat upon their breasts for the pleasant fields, for the
fruitful vine,

[13]For the land of my people growing over with thorns and briers–yes,
for all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

[14]For the palace shall be forsaken, the populous city shall be

deserted; the hill and the watchtower shall become dens [for wild
animals] endlessly, a joy for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks,

[15]Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness
becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is valued as a forest

[16]Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness (moral

and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) will abide in the
fruitful field.

[20]Happy and fortunate are you who cast your seed upon all waters
[when the river overflows its banks; for the seed will sink into the mud
and when the waters subside, the plant will spring up; you will find it
after many days and reap an abundant harvest], you who safely send
forth the ox and the donkey [to range freely].

From Isaiah 32 the following are mentioned as a result of complacency

in prayer-

* Trouble as the vintage will fail and the earth will bring up thorns and
briers .

* Desolation and desertation of the palaces and homes.

* Mourning instead of Joy and happiness

* invasion by wilde animals

When we do not pray we open ourselves to desolation, famines and

demonic attacks. We live lives devoid of joy and peace.

In the scripture ,the women where called to cry out until the spirit of
God would come and and be poured out to bring revival turning the
wildreness into a fruitful feild and the field into a forest.

Prayer is what is needed to bring revival as it it can only be effective

with the help of the Holy spirit.

Prayer brings about the power and presence of God and the devil
cannot stay in a place where prayer is constantly taking place.

Prayer in spiritual warfare

The devil is an accuser of the brethren and he accuses the saints of
God daily before the throne of God. The saints of God have to
constantly come to God’s throne to counter those accusations through
prayer , supplication and concencration. When we pray , we begin to
get revelation of what is taking place in the spiritual realm. Gods
throne room is like a court where judgements are made and decrees
are established and so it should a place we constantly dwell least
judgements are made which are detrimental to us. The devil may
accuse us even for the unrepentent sin of our bloodline in his bid to
perpetute our bondage.

The power of prayer

Healing

2 ChronIcles 7:14 says ,” If My people, who are called by My name,

shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My
face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven,
forgive their sin, and heal their land.

One of the prerequisites for healing as mentioned in the above

scripture is prayer. Also in James 5:13 - 17 prayer is needed to avert

suffering , sickness . Fervent , effectual prayers if the righteous bring
about much result.

Tempataion

In the Garden of Getshemane , Jesus asked his desciples to watch and

pray least they fall unto temptation. Luke 22:39.

He himself struggled with temptation as he wrestled to stay in the will

of God. He so travailed that he sweated blood. Luke 22: 39- 46.

Deliverance

As much aa the disciples of Jesus were given authority to cast out

demons , there were other spirits that required prayer and fasting. In
the case of the epileptic in Mark 9: 29.

Praying for others and for season

In Mark 13: 33 , Jesus encouraged the saints to watch and pray since
noone knows the day of his coming . So we have a mandate to pray

for others to come to salvation also for us to be ready since the coming
of Christ is a surprise.

Intercession

In Romans 8:28 , the Holy spirit helps us to pray and interceed .

Praying in the spirit help us to pray somethings we are not aware of. It
helps us to pray mysteries and the will of God. Sometimes when we
pray in our own understanding , we pray amiss but the Holy spirit helps
us to pray what us in the heart of God.

The armour of God

Prayer is part of the armour of God. When we are constantly praying ,

wr are shielded from the devices of the devil

Revelation and understanding

When we pray, we tap into the heart of God. In Matthew 14:23 , our
Lord Jesus Christ prayed all night Jesus prayed so that he would do the
will of God. To come into ministry , he prayed for forty days and forty
nights. In times of prayer , God revels His heart. Moses in the book of

Exodus spent 40days praying and as a result the ten commandments
where given to him.

People who spend time in the presence if God are endowed with
power and become more like him. His glory is imputed on them.
Moses after meeting with God on the mount Sanai would come
dowing glowing form the devine encounter with God.

Prayer is a command

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 , we are commanded to pray without ceasing

for it is the will of God. Luke 18: 1 says, “ man aught to pray and not to
lose heart. Prayer should never be transactional but it should be out
of our relationship with God. We should not just pray when we are in
problems but we should pray because we have a relationahip with
God as our Father. God will never force his will on us but he wants is
to come to him freely.

Prayer works

Sometimes it seems like our answers are not forth coming. The
following is needed for our prayers to bare fruit:

Faith

Our prayer of faith moves mountains. We have to believe God and his
word and pray in his will.James 1:5-8

[5]If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God
[Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without
reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

[6]Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no

hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is
like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and
tossed by the wind.

[7]For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything
[he asks for] from the Lord,

[8][For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious,

irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about
everything [he thinks, feels, decides]. A person who prays and wavers
will not receive anything.

The will of God

Sometimes we cry for things which are not the will of God for us. God
gives us things which he knows will not be a harm to us. Also he looks
at the motive behind our desire.James 4:2-4

[2]You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go
unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as
your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not
able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness
that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do
not ask. [I John 3:15.]

[3][Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you
ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is
[when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures.

[4]You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the
world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that
being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to
be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. Self
motivated prayers are not met. God wants to give us things that are
beneficial in the advancement of his kingdom and not motivated by
greed , lust and pride of life.

Perserverance

Sometimes we experience delay but God wants us to perservere. We

need to be fervent and persistant because sometimes the delay is
donically motivated just like with Daniel in Daniel 10. There was a
delay because a territorail spirit arose to challenge his prayer.

Assurance of answers

John 14:13-14

[13]And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as
presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and
extolled in (through) the Son. [Exod. 3:14.]

[14][Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in
My Name [as presenting all that I AM].

Jesus assures us of answered prayers . When we pray in his name

according to the will of God , we are guaranteed answers.

 Chapter 12

Fasting

Fasting is essentially the act of abstaining from food in order to seek

the face of God. When we fast we surpress our flesh so that our spirit
man is more sensitive to the voice of God. Fasting is a practice that
was done all through the bible age.

When our flesh is full , its hard to hear clearly from God. In the old
testament in the book of Genesis we see that it was because of food
that Eve fell from the grace of God. We see also in Matthew 4 that
the devil also tempted Jesus with food whilst he was in the wilderness
praying. He asked Jesus to turn stone into bread and Jesus replied him
saying , “ Man shall not live by bread alone but by every worf that
proceeds from the mouth of God. The devil therefore uses our
excessive desire for food to bring us out of the will of God. Imagine
what would have happened if Christ Jesus had succumbed to the
temptation to turn stone into bread.

We have seen that many have sold their souls because of their
stomachs.

2 Kings 6:25-30

[25]And a great famine came to Samaria. They besieged it until a

donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a fourth of a
kab of dove's dung [a wild vegetable] for five shekels of silver.

[26]As the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, a woman cried
to him, Help, my lord, O king!

[27]He said, [For] if he does not help you [No, let the Lord help you!],
from where can I get you help? Out of the threshing floor, or out of
the winepress?

[28]And the king said to her, What ails you? She answered, This
woman said to me, Give me your son so we may eat him today, and
we will eat my son tomorrow.

[29]So we boiled my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, Give
your son so we may eat him, but she had hidden her son.

[30]When the king heard the woman's words, he rent his clothes. As
he went on upon the wall, the people looked, and behold, he wore
sackcloth inside on his flesh.

In the time of a seige in Samaria, women got to the extents of eating

their flesh and blood in order to survive one more day.

However when we learn to supress our flesh through fasting there is

no trail we cannot overcome.

The secret

The secret is that in order for us to have genuine deeper intimacy with
the Lord and knowledge of God’s perfect will we need to master the
discipline of fasting.

Fasting is a discipline which every christian must engage in inorder for

them to obtain open doors, miraculous provision, favor, and the

tender touch of God upon their lives.

Assignment and dreams

In order for us to know our assignment and direction of our lives , we
need to fast . What ever is inside of us will be brought out when we
fast..

The discipline of fasting releases the anointing, the favor, and the
blessing of God in the life of a Christian.

Examples of People who fasted in the bible and the reason they did

To avert the wrath of God

When the children of Isreal offended God , they always called for a fast
to avert the wrath of God. When they si it always averted disastor.

In Ninevah the king called for a fast when they were told that God was
not pleased with them.Jonah 3:6-10

[6]For word came to the king of Nineveh [of all that had happened to
Jonah, and his terrifying message from God], and he arose from his
throne and he laid his robe aside, covered himself with sackcloth, and
sat in ashes.

[7]And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh, By the
decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor
flock, taste anything; let them not feed nor drink water.

[8]But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and let them cry
mightily to God. Yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the
violence that is in his hands.

[9]Who can tell, God may turn and revoke His sentence against us
[when we have met His terms], and turn away from His fierce anger so
that we perish not. [Joel 2:13, 14.]

[10]And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way;
and God revoked His [sentence of] evil that He had said that He would
do to them and He did not do it [for He was comforted and eased
concerning them].

To seek direction

Another example is in the Book of 2 Chronicles 20 where king

Jeosaphat declared a fast to seek directions from the Lord.

2 Chronicles 20:1-5,14-15

[1]AFTER THIS, the Moabites, the Ammonites, and with them the
Meunites came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

[2]It was told Jehoshaphat, A great multitude has come against you
from beyond the [Dead] Sea, from Edom; and behold they are in
Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.

[3]Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself [determinedly, as his vital

need] to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah.

[4]And Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; even out of
all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord [yearning for Him
with all their desire].

[5]And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem in

the house of the Lord before the new court

[14]Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel son of Zechariah,

Esther 4:10-17

[10]Then Esther spoke to Hathach and gave him a message for

Mordecai, saying,

[11]All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know
that any person, be it man or woman, who shall go into the inner
court to the king without being called shall be put to death; there is
but one law for him, except [him] to whom the king shall hold out the
golden scepter, that he may live. But I have not been called to come to
the king for these thirty days.

[12]And they told Mordecai what Esther said.

[13]Then Mordecai told them to return this answer to Esther, Do not

flatter yourself that you shall escape in the king's palace any more than
all the other Jews.

[14]For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise
for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father's house will
perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for
such a time as this and for this very occasion?

[15]Then Esther told them to give this answer to Mordecai,

[16]Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and
fast for me; and neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. I also
and my maids will fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is
against the law; and if I perish, I perish.

[17]So Mordecai went away and did all that Esther had commanded
him.

Queen Esther fasted as she sought favour to be able to get an

audience with her husband the king.

Repentence

King David fasted as he repented when he sinned against God when

he killed Urriah after commiting adultery with his wife and
impregnanting her.

Types of fasts

The three types of fasts found in Scripture are the absolute

fast, the normal fast, and the partial fast.

Absolute fast

This type of fast is extreme and should be done only for very short
periods of time. On an absolute fast, you take in nothing—no food, no

water. Depending on your health, this fast should be attempted only

with medical consultation and supervision. An example of such as fast
is the fast fone by Esther in the Esther 4:15-17 -:

[15]Then Esther told them to give this answer to Mordecai, “Go,

gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast for
me; and neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. I also and
my maids will fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is
against the law; and if I perish, I perish. So Mordecai went away and
did all that Esther had commanded him.

Normal fast

On a normal fast, you typically go without food of any kind for a

certain number of days. You do drink water, and plenty of it!
Depending on the length of the normal fast, you may also choose to
take clear broth and juices in order to maintain your strength

Partial fast

And then there is the partial fast. A partial fast can be interpreted in
many ways. The way it cannot be interpreted is to

include that time between about 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.—when
you’re sleeping! A partial fast usually involves giving upparticular foods
and drink for an extended period of time. The most commonly used
example of a partial fast is found in the Book of Daniel. In the
beginning of his captivity in Babylon, Daniel and his three companions
refused to eat the choice meats and sweets from the king’s table.

Benefits of fasting

* When fast you are not “twisting God’s arm” . You are not going to
make God do anything He does not want to do. What you are actually

doing is positioning yourself and preparing your heart for what is to
come. If you are willing to seek Him, He will be willing to give.

When we fast , we put our flesh under subjection to the spirit man so
that we can be more attuned to the spirit of God.

* Our flesh is always warring with our spirit man because of the
iniquity we inherited from Adam and Eve and ao when we fast we
place the fleah bacj in place and cause all the cravings and desires of
the flesh to disappear.

* Fasting causes us to die to ourselves and makes us more sensitivebto

God and the His spirit. When you live a fasted life , there certain things
you can bare easily than when you are carnally minded. A person who
fasts is usually self controlled and will not react emotionally but will
react in a controlled and mature way led by the spirit of God.

* Fastng is a hunger strike against hell. Fasting is an extreme in-your-

face statement to the devil—that same deceiver who used food to
tempt Adam and Eve to sin. When we fast, we are effectively going on
a hunger strike against hell to say, “Loose those who are bound by
deception, lies, alcohol, drugs, pornography, false religion, etc!”
Fasting destroys the grip of the enemy upon our lives.

*Fasting helps us to fit into the armour of God . We are soldierof God
and so we must stay fit; When we fast we stay healthy, alert, and
ready. Paul said we should live that way because the days are evil. The
enemy prowls around waiting to attack. Just as the angel told Daniel,
principalities of nations rise up to do battle, but we should not live
growing fat and comfortable. Moses fasted. Elijah fasted forty days.
Paul fasted fourteen days. Jesus fasted forty days. If the children of
God do notf ast, how will we ever fit into the armor of God? How will
we effectively wield the sword of the Spirit?

* Fasting and prayer sharpen the blade, which is the Word of God.
When you fast, mealtimes often become study times. You become
more keyed to God’s Word, and God begins to show you deeper
truths. Understanding comes from the study of God’s Word!

* When you fast and pray, you effectively sharpen the Word in your
mouth. Instead of flippantly quoting Scripture, you now wield a
powerful weapon with a razor-sharp edge that slashes the enemy
when you speak. When you fast and pray, you sharpen the Word of
God in your mouth.

* Fasting pleases God

Simply by missing some meals and setting our heart on understanding
by studying God’s Word, you please God, you release beauty for ashes
and joy for mourning, and the garment of praise defeats the spirit of
heaviness. Your praise goes forth and scatters the enemy, you develop
patience, you come in line with God’s priorities, you loose angelic
messengers, and you find God’s right way for you and potection for
your little ones.

* Fasting is not a means to promote yourself. The greatest thing

fasting will do for you will be to break down all of the stuff that
accumulates from this world that blocks you from clear communion
with the Father

* When you are on a prolonged fast, you are praying continually. You
have to make time to get away and pray, whether you feel like it or
not. Fasting in and of itself is a continual prayer to God. You are
praying twenty-four hours a day when you are fasting. If you have
been fasting all day, you’ve been praying all day.

* Fasting should be part of every believer. If you let it, your flesh will
take over and rule your life. That is why times of fasting are so crucial
to your walk with God.

* Fasting helps you establish dominion and authority over your flesh.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap. For he who sows to his fleshwill of the flesh reap
corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap
everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in
due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Gal. 6:7–9). Keep
your armor fit and your blade sharp. Israel was unrepentant and had
forsaken the ordinances of God. Though they appeared to be seeking
God and delighting in His ways, their sin was all God could see. Instead
of truly humbling themselves before God, fasting had become just
another faithless mechanical performance full of strife, anger, and
lashing out.

Repentence

Though you do not fast to be cleansed of sin (the blood ofJesus is the
only solution for sin), you should enter a fast seriously, having
repented of any known sins. Fasting will even bring hidden things to
the surface so you can repent.

Righteousness

The Lord says that when you fast, “your righteousness shall go before
you” (Isa. 58:8). Your faith, your right standing with God, will cause
you to move into areas where you would not have moved if you had
not fasted. Doors will open to you that were not opened before, and
your influence will increase.

Chapter 13

 The Anointing

In spiritual tems , the anointing can be defined as the yoke breaking,

burden removing power of the Living God. It is the spirit of God , The
Holy spirit manifesting in power in our lives.

Inorder to be able to accomplish all the things for the Kingdom of God
, we need the power of the Holy spirit. Jesus before he left to go to the
Father asked the desciples to wait until they were filled with the Holy
spirit. In the book of Acts 2 , we see the desciples being filled with the
Holy spirit and they began to preach the gospel of the Kingdom with
boldness and power. They spoke with new tongues and many from
different walks of life received their message. They performed
miracles , signs and wonders under the infleunce of the Holy spirit.

Impartation

Firstly, the anointing is an impartation of God’s supernatural ability

upon an available and yielded vessel to enable it to do His work

efficiently and effectively. In other words, it is a divine ability infused

upon a vessel to enable it to operate like God on earth. To operate like
God means to assume the faculties of God such that you are able to
talk as God talks, see as God sees, think as God thinks and act as God
acts. Therefore, the anointing is the empowerment for us to live the
way Christ desires us to live through demonstrating the Kingdom of
Heaven on earth. To be anointed means to be empowered by God to
do a particular task, hence metaphorically speaking, the anointing
could therefore be best described as God on flesh doing those things
that flesh cannot do. In other words, it is God doing those things only
He can do, and doing them through a flesh and blood, earthly vessel
(2 Corinthians 4:7).

Devine enabler

The anointing can then be said to be the devine enabler. When the
anointing comes on us , we are enabled to fulfill our mission and
purpose in life. Most of our God given assignments are possible by our
human strength. Without God's devine enablement we will not be
able to accomplish them. However when the power of God come

upon us , we are able to accomplish the most impossible tasks.blood,
earthly vessel (2 Corinthians 4:7). In this case the Holy Ghost equips
and empower either an individual or a group of people for service and
accomplishment of divine tasks or assignments. In other words, it is
the Supernatural enablement manifested by the presence of the Holy
Spirit operating upon or through an individual or corporate group of
people to produce the works of Jesus. It is God giving insight, power,
and enablement through the Spirit to the human vessel in order that
he/she may do this work in a manner that lifts it up beyond simple
human

efforts and endeavours. In a literal sense, it is the presence of the Holy

Spirit being smeared upon someone. It is literally the smearing of the
substance of the anointing of the Holy Spirit into our lives that makes
us able to do what He wants done excellently and exceptionally. It is
when the Holy Spirit supernaturally enables you to do something that
you cannot take credit for by natural talent or physical means. In other
words, it is the grace given by the Holy Spirit that makes an individual a
“superman” by performing beyond the level of human talent,
reasoning, skill, ability and intelligence.

Endowment

Thirdly, the anointing is an endowment of a spiritual substance upon
both a living and non-living object to enable it to perform beyond
human and natural limitations. In this context, to be anointed by God
means to be supernaturally endowed with divine assistance to do the
appointed task for which God has called you. Therefore, the anointing
is that divine energy that comes upon you and separates you from
yourself and fills you with His power such that when you speak, it’s like
God speaking and when you act, it’s like God acting and when you
look at a situation, it’s like God looking through your very own eyes. In
other words, it is the overflowing life of Jesus which endows
supernatural strength, enabling a person to perform a special task or
function in an office he is called and appointed to. Therefore to be
anointed by God is not only to be hand picked, but also to be
endowed or empowered by Him for the task or tedition to which He
has called you.or you wilk lead a meaningless life.

What Is The Anointing For?

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.Acts 10:38

The anointing is for “doing”. It is to enable you fulfil God’s eternal
purpose for your life.

Yoke breaker

Most of us have been placed under heavy yokes of bondage by the

enemy of our soul. Only the power of the Holyspirit can destroy those
yokes and bring us into freedom and liberty through Christ Jesus .

The anointing is to destroy yokes.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken
away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the
yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing ,Isaiah 10:27.

That’s the essence of the anointing, not to fall men down but to cause
them to rise up and take charge. It is not just for vibrating and
speaking in tongues, it is to establish your dominion in the midst of
opposition. (Psalm 110:3) .

THE SPIRIT OF POWER

One of the key manifestations of the HolyGhost in the last days is

power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you;
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all

Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 1:8

The essence of the HolyGhost is: the enduement of power.

What happened to the disciples in the Upper Room was an initiation

into the power dimension of the Spirit.

When you are endued with power from on high, you become Jesus’

representative. Whatever He did you do, and greater. The boldness

with which He spoke you manifest also. You demonstrate the same
dominion He had. Power is the essence of the outpouring of the
HolyGhost. Minus power, He has no mission.

And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in
the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
The proof of his presence in tongues is also a proof that the powers of
heaven is residing in a person .

The Holy spirit

John 16:7-14

[7]However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is

profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away.
Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper,
Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you
[into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you
[to be in close fellowship with you].

[8]And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and
bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness
(uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about
judgment:

[9]About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and
adhere to Me];

[10]About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with

God), because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer;

[11]About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this
world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is
passed upon him.

[12]I have still many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear
them or to take them upon you or to grasp them now.

[13]But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes,
He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will
not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell
whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has
been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the
things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

[14]He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive,
draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it
to you.

The Holy spirit was made available when Christ rose from the dead and
was exalted at the right hand of the father. He is the power of
God ,the third member of the trinity and he is available to every saints
from the time they gave their live to Christ. He is the one that enables
us to live a christlike life.

In order to fulfill our mission we need to be baptised in the Holy spirit
That way we get the enablement to be able to fulfill our
assignments.When we are baptised in the Holy spirit we come into our
spiritual gifts according to 1 Corinthians 12.

1 Corinthians 12:4-13

[4]Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments

(gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to
the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit)
and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same.

[5]And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it

is the same Lord [Who is served].

[6]And there are distinctive varieties of operation [of working to

accomplish things], but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes
them all in all.

[7]But to each one is given the manifestation of the [Holy] Spirit [the
evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit] for good and profit.

[8]To one is given in and through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to
speak] a message of wisdom, and to another [the power to express] a
word of knowledge and understanding according to the same [Holy]
Spirit;

[9]To another [wonder-working] faith by the same [Holy] Spirit, to

another the extraordinary powers of healing by the one Spirit;

[10]To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight

(the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the
ability to discern and distinguish between [the utterances of true]
spirits [and false ones], to another various kinds of [unknown]
tongues, to another the ability to interpret [such] tongues.

[11]All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to

pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person
individually [exactly] as He chooses.

[12]For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the
parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ (the
Messiah, the Anointed One).

[13]For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were
all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism
united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy]
Spirit.

The Holy spirit also helps us to pray acoording to Romans 8: 26

Romans 8:26-27

[26]So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our
weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it
worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our
supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and
groanings too deep for utterance.

[27]And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the

mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit
intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to
and in harmony with God's will. [Ps. 139:1, 2.]

Sometimes we do not know how we ought to pray but the Holy spirit
helps us to pray.

Revelation

The Holy spirit helps us to undersatnd the word of God. He is the one
who reveals the truth to us and helps us to distinguish between good
ad evil. He is our conscience.

We must desire his partnership in all we do . Without the Holy spirit

our Christain walk is dry and fruitless.

When we dwell in the presence of God, demons can not dwell there.
There flea from one who dwell in the secret place of the most high.

God’s glory destroy the evil works of darkness and even when the
children of Isreal where in the wilderness he asked that God would go
with him. He knew without God’s presence the journey would be
trecherous and difficult.

Conclusion

God has given us tools by which to wage war with . Our weapins are
nor carnal but mighty in pulling down strongholds. Weust know rhat
the devil is a defeated foe and that we have an advantage over him .
Mostly we fight to remain in rightstanding with God inorder to remove
the legal rights of the enemy over us which enable him to continue to
gain access to us. We need to war in the heanly places in Christ Jesus
knowing that in him our victory has already been achieved.

Ephesians 1:20-23

[20]Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and
seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

[21]Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and
every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not
only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world
which are to come.

[22]And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him
the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised
throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.]

[23]Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that
body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete,
and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

We are in Christ and therefore at a place of victory!
