 What are your usual activities as a retired professional teacher? Please tell.
 My usual activity as a retired teacher is to take care of my grandchildren at
home.

 Did you find your past teaching experiences memorable? What were your most
significant experience?
 Yes, the most significant experience that happened on my past teaching
was joining the jamboree scouting and it was great because we enjoyed
travelling in different places with my pupils.

 How long have you taught as a professional teacher? Do you have any regrets of
having been a professional teacher? Why?
 37 years in service, no I didn’t have any regrets of having been a
professional teacher because indeed, I enjoyed my job as a teacher.

 What do you consider as your most significant contribution to the teaching


profession? Please tell.
 I considered that the most significant contribution of my teaching
profession was to teach my pupils to read and to share my knowledge to
them.

 Have you been promoted in your job? Why were you promoted? What benefits
did you get from your promotion?
 Yes, I have been promoted as teacher 1 and to become teacher 3. I was
promoted because of like in service and number of units. The benefits that
I get from my promotion is having a salary increase.

 Would you consider teaching as the greatest profession? Why? Why not?
 Yes, I am happy seeing my pupils learned to read. Teaching is enjoyable if
you are committed and dedicated to your work it will help you to find your
true happiness.

teachers?
 “You have to love your profession”

 Yes, I am satisfied with my job because it is my inspiration and I love to
teach children.

happy? Sad?
 The things that makes me happy is when they fulfill their dreams to
become a professional person.

 My unforgettable experience was, I walked the narrow way just to teach
the children up there in the mountain.

 My most significant contribution to teaching is teaching young children
with love passion, and of course teaching them the best quality of
education.

 My plans for the future is to become a master teacher 2.

 I was promoted in my job through effort and hardship in my work and
because of that the benefits that I gained is, there is an increase in my
salary.

 To see the pupils learning, handling school paper as an adviser and

 Having extra works but not well compensated.

 As a professional teacher, what code of conduct do you strictly follow? Can you
name the specific behavior that should be followed to the outmost?
 I strictly follow the code of honesty and integrity. Honesty in work
especially in giving grades and use of working time.
 What kind of professional teacher would you dream to become before you retire?
 I dream to become the teacher who can inspire pupils to graduate college
and become a good citizen of this country.

As I interviewed Mrs. ESTELA R. BARIQUIT, A retired teacher
with 37 years in service. Her usual activities as a retired teacher is
doing household chores and caring her grandchildren. Her most
memorable experience in teaching is to teach her pupils to read
and to share her knowledge to them. Being a 37 year in service
she was no regrets of being a professional teacher because when
she was young she wanted to become a teacher.
The most significant contribution in teaching profession is to
teach her pupils to read and to share her knowledge to them. She
has been promoted in job the benefits that she had gained is
increasing of salary. And she considered teaching as a greatest
because there was no other profession without the help of a
teacher. The food for thought that she gave is” You have to Love
your Profession”.

As I interviewed Ms. Jovelyn Narte, she says that she is


satisfied with her job because the children are her inspiration to
teach even more. According to her the things that makes her
happy is when they knew that her pupils’ can fulfill their dreams to
become a professional one.

For her the most significant contribution to teaching is teaching


young children with love and passion and of course teaching them
with the best quality education.

(1-3 Years Teaching Experience)

As I interviewed Ms. Lysa R. Mana-ay who were graduated at


King’s College of Marbel Inc. The school prepares her to become
a good teacher through giving her knowledge, skills and as well as
morally and spiritually transformed. She also actively participates
in different activities which her teaching can be enhance for
example she attends seminar such as Seminars/workshop for
School Papers Advisers and K to 12 training for Grade VI pupils.
She is also a member of a professional organization
(CPKPRISEA) she says as a professional teacher the code of
conduct that she strictly follows are the code of honesty and
integrity.

Close Encounter with a Mentor/Master Teacher


(11-15 Years Teaching Experience)

As I interviewed Mrs. Shiela A. Sumalinog, she said that she was


satisfied with her job because teaching is her passion. In teaching,
the things that makes her happy is when her learners understand the
lesson and they will apply it to their lives.
As a mentor to the young professional teacher I share everything
of what I have learned so that they will enhance their skill. Looking
back to the early years, I will compare myself as with my mentees
now just like new beginner.
