Q1. Do as directed –

1. Write as numeral
8 × 1000000 + 3 × 1000 + 6 × 1

2. Determine the difference between the place value and the face value of 5 in
78654321.

3. Write the greatest 4 digit number which on rounding off to nearest thousands gives
5000

4. How many four digit numbers are there in all?

5. A mobile number consists of ten digits. First four digits are 9,9, 7 and 9. Make the
smallest mobile number by using only one digit twice from 8, 3, 5, 6, 0.

7. Fill up and identify the property used-

9. By suitable rearrangement, evaluate –

10. A certain nine digit number has only ones in ones period, only twos in the
thousands period and only threes in millions period. Write this number in words in
the Indian system of Numeration.

11. Find the value using appropriate property-

12. Find the product of the greatest number of three digits and the greatest
number of two digits. (use property to evaluate)
13. A vessel has 13 litres 200 mL of fruit juice. In how many glasses each of capacity 60 mL
can it be filled? (Show calculations)

14. Do as directed –
a.Represent 15 as triangular number using dot pattern

b.Using the pattern given below write the next step-


i) 64 × 5 = 64 × = 32 × 10 = 320 × 1
(ii) 64 × 15 = 64 × = 32 × 30 = 320 × 3
(iii) 64 × 25 = 64 × = 32 × 50 = 320 × 5
(iv) 64 × 35 = 64 × = 32 × 70 = 320 × 7.....

c. How many whole numbers are between 99 and 300?

15. The population of a town was 78787 in the year 1991 and 95833 in the year 2001. Estimate
the increase in population by rounding off each population to nearest hundreds.
