Paper Snowman Craft

What you need

o 2 sheets of white paper (plain print paper will do although

construction paper will work best)
o paper in any other color (and a bit for orange nose, can also
be drawn)
o black marker
o glue, scissors

Start by cutting strips of paper in two lengths, I cut the strips by

cutting across the sheets of white paper, one set cutting along the
length and one set cutting along the width.

Now assemble the paper balls. If you don’t know how you can check
how we did it when making this paper ball garland, the procedure is
the same, with the difference you’ll be making two balls for one
snowman.

Draw on or stick on all the details, the eyes, nose and buttons.
You can also use a cupcake liner as a hat, it looks kind of cute.

Crafts
Sponge and duct tape sail boats
by Cara Mullin
Sailing boat toys made from sponges, duct tape, PVC
tape and sucker sticks

I love this cute little boat bath toy craft idea made by mommy
blogger, The Craft Train. I decided to try it out to see how easy it was
for kids to make. I tweaked the design by using sucker sticks and by
adding another little sail to the top! They came out better than I
expected and were really easy to make. Kids can use them to play
with in the sink, the pool or the bath. Perhaps whilst the kids are
playing with them in the sink you can encourage them to wash a few
dishes at the same time too!

You will need:

 Dish washing sponges

 Duct tape

 PVC tape

 Scissors

 Sucker sticks or cake pop sticks (Preferably plastic ones as the

papery ones will eventually saturate and unravel).

Method:
1. Cut one of the short sides of the dish washing sponge into a V
shape for the front of the boat.
2. To make the sail, cut off 2 x pieces of duct tape 16cm in length
and fold in half with the sticky sides stuck together to make two
8cm pieces.
3. Place one of the duct tape pieces on top of the other and overlap
them by 3cm. Stick a small piece of tap over the join to hold
them in place.
4. Stick a layer of coloured PVC tape around the duct tap on each
end of the sail.
5. Stick a layer of the white PVC tape on the inside of each
coloured layer to create the striped effect on the sail.
6. Stick a layer of the coloured PVC tape down the centre of the
sail.
7. Using the sharp end of one side of the scissors, pierce a hole
1cm from the top of the sail and another one 1cm from the
bottom of the sail on the middle coloured stripe. (Younger
children will need assistance from an adult with this).
8. Insert the sucker stick from the front of the sail through the
hole, out the back and then through the top hole back to the
front of the sail.
9. Pierce a hole in the middle of the sponge with the scissors and
insert the bottom of the sucker stick.
10. Cut a 4-5cm piece of PVC tape and stick it around the top of the
sucker stick above the duct tape sale. Cut a "v" shape out of the
top sail.
Float in the bath or the sink or a swimming pool.

Craft: Windmill Toilet Paper Roll Craft

Materials:
• toilet paper roll,
• something to color with if using the B&W version,
• scissors,
• glue,
• paper,
• printer

Note:  You could use a paper cup (upside down) instead of a toilet
paper roll as the base of your windmill.  Simply paint it rather than
wrapping the rectangular piece of paper around it.
Note:  You can attach the blades (sails) of the windmill using a brass
tack so they actually spin.

Instructions:
• Print out the craft template of choice.
• Color (if using the black and white version of the craft) and cut out
the template pieces.
• Glue the large rectangular piece on first to cover the tube.
• Glue the door onto the front of your windmill.
• Glue the windows around the windmill as you see fit (you can use
all three or less if you want).
• Glue the sails (blades) of the windmill onto the top.
Glue the large circle and then the small circle into the center of the
blades..
