These Tests are photocopiable. Test 1
should be given after pupils have
completed Units 1–3, Test 2 after Units
3–6 and Test 3 after Units 6–9.
Test 1
Exercise 1 (page 3)
In this writing exercise, the pupils write
an email to a friend about a birthday
party. The pictures can be used to
provide ideas for things to say.
Exercise 2 (page 4)
This is a listening exercise. The pupils
listen, then tick the items that are
collected and cross the ones that are
not. Read slowly and clearly giving the
pupils time to look at the pictures.
Exercise 3 (page 5)
The pupils will need the following
colours: green, black, grey, brown, blue
and red. Pupils rad the descriptions and
colour the six men in the correct colour.
Test 3
Exercise 1 (page 9)
Pupils complete the names of the
occupations below each picture.
Exercise 2 (page 10)
In this listening exercise, pupils listen
and tick the two occupations mentioned
in each number. Read slowly and clearly.
Exercise 3 (page 11)
Pupils look at each numbered picture
and use the word associated to complete
a sentence. The seven sentences should
all include a day of the week, in the
correct order.

Exercise 1 (page 6)
Pupils complete the picture words and
then use them when writing the
sentences. Each sentence should include
either, ‘I’m afraid of...’ or ‘I’m not afraid
of...’
Exercise 2 (page 7)
Pupils write the five answers to the
questions about their friend.
Exercise 3 (page 7)
Pupils read and re-order the words
before writing the sentences correctly.
Exercise 4 (page 8)
This is a listening exercise. These colours
are required: purple, blue, yellow, pink,
orange, green, red and white. The pupils
listen and colour the specific items in the
picture. Read each sentence twice,
slowly and clearly.
