Hi……,
How’s it going? In this mail, I am going to tell you about the festival I am attending. It is
Da Lat Flower Festival. It usually takes place at the end of December in Dalat, the city
known as the land of flowers. It is held to promote the image and the culture of Dalat to
the tourists. I went to Da Lat with my family yesterday. The weather has been wonderful
since we came here. Therefore, we spent yesterday afternoon visiting some interesting
places in Da Lat. In the evening, we joined the opening ceremony of the Flower Festival
with a lof of fun. Although we stayed up quite late last night, we tried to get up early this
morning to enjoy the main festivities. There have been many flower exhibitions and
parades. I can feel the festive atmostphere. Oh, I have to go on joining the festivities, so
bye for now. I will tell you more about this festival when I meet you.

Dear Hoa,
I am having a birthday party this Sunday afternoon. Would you like to join us? Some of
our friends that you have already known have been invited, too.

The party will take place at 7 p.m at my house. There will be a lot of food and drinks such
as cakes, candies and fruits. There will also be singing, dancing and games with nice
prizes for the winner. I think this is a chance for us to meet each other. I hope we will have
a good time together.

Please let me know by Friday whether you can come.

Love,
…..
Nowdays, energy is running out, so it is high time we took actions to save energy,
especially home energy. Firstly, we all know that showers use a lot of water. Therefore,
we should use short shower heads or buy “low-flow” showers and use less baths.
Secondly, it cannot be denied that the use of home energy costs a lot of money. It is
important for everyone to turn off the lights and conditioners before leaving home or
whenever we are not in our rooms. Last but not least, the burning of petroleum produces
carbon monoxide that causes global warming and thins the ozone layer. That is the
reason why, we should try to go to school by bike or walk to school. I strongly believe
that, if these things are done regularly, we can save a lot of home engergy.

There are so many interesting festivals around my country. Because I love flowers so
much, I love the Flower Festival most.  It usually takes place at the end of December in
Dalat, the city known as the land of flowers. It is held to promote the image and the
culture of Dalat to the tourists. There are many flower exhibitions and parades. People
show hundreds of new kinds of flowers and there are also games and music concerts
during the festival. I find the festival interesting with the new knowledge about many
kinds of flowers. I think I should come back to enjoy the festival again.

Of all the festivals in Vietnam, I like the Lunar New Year or Tet holiday most. It is the
time when Vietnamese people celebrate the beginning of spring and also the start of the
Lunar New Year. On the days before Tet, streets are decorated with colored lights and red
banners. People are also busy going shopping to buy gifts, cleaning up and decorating their
house with flowers and trees, cooking special foods such as chung cake, candied fruits,…
On the days of Tet, people dress up, visit relatives and friends. People who live far away
from home try to go home for a family reunion. Children receive “lucky money” inside red
envelopes. Many people go to the pagodas to pray for a happy year for themselves. They
can also take part in games and festivities. What I like most about Tet is I can have some
days off with my family members. Tet is a really time of fun and happiness.
Of all the festivals I have attended so far, I enjoyed the 2019 Mid-autumn festival most. It
was held on the 15th of the 8th lunar month to celebrate the largest full moon in the year. In
the morning of that day I had to go to school but I had the afternoon off. Therefore, I could
help my grandmother prepare a party with moon cakes, soft drinks and lots of fruits. After
dinner, all the children in the neighbourhood gathered in my house to enjoy the party. We
all ate, sang and danced. After that, when the moon was higher, roudner and brighter, we
picked up our lanterns and went out the streets. We were able to feel the cheerful
atmostphere of hundreds of lanterns on the streets. We freely played and enjoyed lantern
parades with other kids under the bright full moon.We also watched wonderful lion and
dragon dances. At 10 p.m we went home and felt happy that night.
