1 Manage Oracle Social Network Objects in Oracle Cloud Applications

Manage Oracle Social Network Objects

A business object cannot be shared within Oracle Social Network until a functional administrator or
implementor:

 Accesses the Manage Oracle Social Network Objects page


 Enables the business object for Oracle Social Network integration

Access Functional Setup Manager (Setup and Maintenance)

Login to Oracle Cloud Application (Oracle Sales Cloud, Oracle HCM Cloud, Oracle ERP Cloud) as a
functional administrator or implementor.

From the Navigator, select Setup and Maintenance (under Tools).

Search for Task – Manage Oracle Social Network Objects

From the Setup and Maintenance page, under the All Tasks tab

Search for Name: Manage Oracle Social Network

Click on Search

Go to Task – Manage Oracle Social Network Objects

From the Search Results, select Manage Oracle Social Network Objects.
Note: If you see a task specific to your product family (e.g. Financials or Task Management then you can
select that task instead)

Click on the Go to Task icon.

Enable business object for Oracle Social Network integration

Select the group that contains your business object and expand the group (e.g. Sales).

Select the business object you want to enable (e.g. Reference) and click on Enable Object

Select enablement option

Select whether you want to enable the business object in Manual or Automatic mode.
Manual: (Recommended) User decides whether to share each instance of the object with social network.
Automatic: Automatically sends newly created object instances and updates to social network.

Click OK.

Once the object has been enabled, the Status will show a warning icon until attributes are enabled.

Select Attributes to send to Oracle Social Network

In the Attributes section,click on Add icon to open the Select Attributes dialog for the selected business
object.

Select an attribute name in the table, and select the Enabled check box to enable the attribute.
Note: Atleast one attribute must be selected when enabling the object.

Click OK.

Save and send changes to Oracle Social Network server

You can repeat the above process for enabling other business objects.
Once completed, click Save after enabling the objects and the attributes.

You should see a Confirmation dialog with progress details indicating successful completion. Click OK.
