Main focus: Speaking skills
Time allotted: 50 minutes

Aims: - to give SS practice about weather


-to introduce the new vocabulary concerning weather
-to make Ss able to describe the weather using the new words
-to make Ss grasp meanings of the new vocabulary

Language Functions: -describing the weather in a formal and informal environment.


-describing the future holiday plans

Assumed Knowledge: Ss may already know about the weather and holidays expressions

Anticipated problems: SS may not know some adjectives to describe the weather

Aids/ Materials: textbook,blackboard,worksheets

Activity 1: Warm up
Aim: to introduce the new vocabulary concerning the weather
Procedure: Ss read the exemples on exercise 1a ,the T writes on the blackboard some adjectives
describing the weather and then ask SS to make sentences about the weather
Timing: about 7 minutes
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-T

Activity 2: Lead-in
Aim: to give Ss practice about vocabulary
Procedure : the T asks Ss to search the weather on 3 different cities and describe the weather
Timing : about 5 minutes

Activity 3 : Speaking
Aims : to encourage Ss to speak and correct the possible mistakes
Procedure : The T writes on the blackboard the possible unknown words and ask Ss to resolve
exercise no 2
Timing: about 10 minutes
Interaction : T-Ss , Ss-ss

Activity 4 : Vocabulary
Aim : to explain to the Ss the possibile unknown words from exercise 4
Procedure : The T writes on the blackboard the unknown words and ask Ss to resolve exercise 4
Timing : 7 minutes
Interaction :T-ss ; SS-ss

Activity 5 : Writing
Aims : to practise the writing skills
Procedure: The T ask Ss to write a short paragraph about their last holiday and describe also the
weather using the adjectives at the exercise 4
Timing : 7 minutes
Interaction: T-Ss

Activity 6 : Practising
Aims : to practise/introduce the new vocabulary
Procedure : The T give the Ss worksheets and the Ss work on it
Timing : 7 minutes
Interaction : T-Ss

Activity 7 : Homework
Procedure : to asssign homework and give possible explanations
Timing : 3-4 minutes
