Clestra provides stylish, discreet contemporary sliding door solution

to prestigious City HQ

Project: Global Insurance Group

Architect: Perkins & Will
Year: 2016
Clestra Hauserman, the global leader in prefabricated relocatable partitions, has developed a new, high-performance sliding door with
minimalist lines that provides high acoustic performance for the contemporary office environment.

The framed, sliding ‘pocket-door’ system was specifically designed for the refurbishment of Global Insurance Europe’s prestigious head-
quarters in the City of London. Spread over two floors, the three-phase refurbishment has been designed by global architecture practice
Pringle Brandon Perkins + Will.

The innovative door design opens and closes by sliding into a ‘pocket’ between double-glazed partitions. With a total thickness of 83mm,
the framed, sliding door system can be supplied as either single- or double-glazed, and achieves impressive acoustic separation. It now
forms part of Clestra’s standard product range.

Also part of Clestra’s package to the Global Insurer’s refurbishment were partitions and high-level glazing above joinery and seating
units. The semi-transparent, glazed partitions feature a striking geometric design that combines privacy and transparency.

In order to meet the architect’s design for special brain-storming rooms that were both functional and sleek, Clestra installed
single-glazed partitions with large, single-glazed sliding doors featuring angled glass corners.

The three phased project totaled over 600 linear meters of glazed partitions and included approximately 100 doors.
