Seven Days Online International Webinar “Recent Trends in Management”
INTRODUCTION
The final session of the seven days online International Webinar on “Recent Trends in
Management” was organized by IQAC in association with the School of Commerce and
Management. The topic of the session was “Paradigm Shift in Micro Finance”. The Compering
of the session was done by Mrs.Irfaan Meera. E, Assistant Professor, Department of Business
Administration.
The Chief Guest of the session was Dr.Bharat Singh Thappa, Assistant Professor, Central
Department of Management, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
The session started with a welcome note by Dr.Sambasivam, Head of the Department &
Associate Professor, Department of commerce. Ms.Divya, Assistant Professor, Department of
Computer Science introduced the Chief Guest.

Chief Guest Dr. Bharat Singh Thappa, started the session by introducing the concept of
Microfinance.

The Resource person elaborately described the concept of Micro Finance and its impact on the
development of people and the economy. He also highlighted the paradigm shift that happened in
Micro Finance where it made a shift from the term ‘Micro Credit’ to ‘Financial Inclusion’. In
this pandemic situation, Micro Finance plays a major role in reviving the economy.
Dr.Bharat Sigh Thappa also encouraged the participants to ask questions and he patiently
clarified their queries.
