(Voice narrates) as credits rolls

The street child problem has been a long increasing concern over the

past decade. Poverty, war and HIV/AIDS…

have caused the numbers to rise sharply in the past few years, and

the exact number of street kids in Uganda unknown because…..nobody

CARES.

The children leave home due to poverty…. Mistreatment….parental

death….peer pressure…….and civil wars talk of N Uganda.

NOTE {as the narrator explains , the credits on the screen roll on

and the scenes are shown projecting every single issue as for the matter

of understanding the script}

Many leave home in their villages and go to towns to try make a

living on the streets, they face great difficulties including sleep

deprivation from lack of good shelter, ……… malnutrition, diseases,

…..physical…..sexual and mental abuse,….. as well as a marked

decrease in their self-esteem caused by their internalization of social

disapproval…

Many of the children take up drinking or using drugs to help them

deal with the harsh realities of street life………..[credits roll showing

evidence]

Some go on searching and stealing idle scrap metals or plastics as a

way of earning some money…….

Others do potter jobs, hawking and selling low price items…….

[credits roll as we see several kids with the harsh working days ]

Many are often mistreated on the streets by bitter hearted

individuals…..government security agencies…..and as well the local

government authorities….hence facing hostility, beatings, harassment,

rape and occasionally deaths

Imprisonment is also a possibility in government run rehabilitation

centers used for street kids and juvenile delinquents……..

These centers are well known for their lack of facilities and rough

treatment of the children there

There is nothing painful as being homeless

Its often emotional and physical abuse…. Combined with poverty

that drives the children in the streets of Uganda

They go huffing jet fuels,….. only God knows how the hell they get

them… may be some well off maniacs do supply them……… and

probably believe they own these kids….

They send them on streets…for deadly missions…theft, robbery and

snatching from whoever comes their lone way.

And what does the world say? FINE…..we’re all created equal. But

those scandals give napoleon, “the animal farm” a thumb up. He was

definitely right.

“ All animals are created equal……..but some are more

equal[credits roll…All we need in this generation is an incredibly smart

decisions] [voice continues to narrate]

We need not to forget our social needs. We as a society are

obligated to provide food and shelter for those who are unable to provide

for themselves ……[ credits… then we view organizations and well-

wishers provide for the kids and the homeless]

It wont take us nowhere to give to the dead, as we always do honor

them…..they won’t know anything. They can’t tell you thank you friend,

but try it before they are dead… you will have changed a life. We can

change lives, since we have the limited time and freedom to actively

venture through…. But not death, the abortion LAW must be maintained

to protect the rights to life and also maintain freedom of womens choice

We must encourage the return of traditional moral values, curbing

violence, and graphic sex on televisions

Most importantly we must promote general social concern and less

materialism in young people and pray out for God to grant us the serenity

to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we

can and wisdom always to tell the differences in the evil desires, pride

and unwanted curiosity.

But for the rigid, its a no compromise anymore. You have to make a one

way decision, and that is…

FADE IN:

Several shots of town view…and street corridors as we PAN TO a

filthy suburb in the ancient city of LANGO. We zoom to a metallic

ghetto door and…SLUM!!!!The door is shut with reverberation as an

unrecognized figure disappears inside.

A BEAT…then we hear muffled male voices as we close up onto

the door…through the keyhole, ..then inside…View of several figures,

some seated…or standing and others at a dark corner.

INDOOR SOUNDS [male authoritative voice]

Hey, I say gimme that shit now…get it out A BEAT….just tell me

what I want to hear kid,..NOW!....the whole house reacts with a who the

hell do you think you are? As seen from the silhouetted figures.

BOY PLEADS:

Captain please…I failed to track him….I mean I lost him ….as

CAPT cuts him short…

You lost him like you lost your mama! Hey lossy boy! Are you

forgotten who you are?....CLOSE UP as CAPT sniffs some white

substance…stiffens his face, wriggles nose and widely opens his paper

red eyes starring at us.

VOICE#1. PLEADS:

Ahh…kay..gimme just 23 hours and I promise to put him down.I

mean I’ll tail him when it gets dark….and won’t let him loose this

time.EVERYBODY GIVES HIM A WATCH OUT FOR YOUR

VOICE#2

…..Ah look guys, we all know the laws and A BEAT …as we see

the silhouetted figure bend down…then sneezes abruptly [aaghprrrr]

VOICE#2 CONTINUES;

Only if we work together this time.Everyone of us got a duty here,

so we wont get HIM in trouble alone every day. Ama fed up guys,we all

got two balls like all’a enemies!. .so no shit anymore(as he acts as

careless)

CAPT;

Excellent!, super excellent ma niggi, AS HE LOUGHS

CONTINOUSLY…HAHAHAHA HA…now you just did, what my

mama never taught me. Lemme wait 23 hours,…that what you

said,,hmmmm, you know the rules yes, …(as he moves his head closer to

the boy)…a beat as we scan through the faces…then

POV OF THE BOY PLEADING.(a cute skinny boy of 17 we will

call him JOHN)

JOHN:

We got to use three of our girls. At least that way, we can easily trail

and get him pinned. CAPT CUTS IN: And that, you’re now talking

TRIES TO PROTEST BUT…CAPT ignores him.

blahbblah…and you’re all we got John, this isn’t about emotions kid, its

sacrifice…self and brotherhood sacrifice. And these goes to all of you.

Never trust the dogs out. We don’t know what we got…because things

keep on changing. And life will take us anywhere, its not a

compromise…but life is to live greedy, and that’s what the foxes out

claim to be hope and love. And keep it in your minds, we don’t love, we

don’t hope, but we live to get whatever we want in life!!!!

CUT TO;

EXT CITY STREET…DAY;

We focus on several shots of the busy town streets with hundreds of

sophisticated machines racing by, humans as masters keeping at pace.

Mafia dogs(ngekongeko) stride by heading for the garbage bins and

abartiours.

The unbearable sounds of traffic and welding machines ….as

hundreds of pedestrians unlawfully crowd the pavements and roads….

each struggling for a fair day.

WEPAN TO….two LANE way at the zebra crossing;

A man scans lawfully to the left, half right, and he’s now tearing

through…and then SQUEEEERRRRR…. the truck breaks yell..as

BEEPBEEPBEEP! We hear the horns creating more pressure from

distant machines behind.

OLD MAN

Hey you idiot…didn’t you go to driving college? or new to town?

This is ZEBRA crossing and you threatening me,eh(as he tries to advance

towards the driver’s side and points with anger sharpened face)Now look

‘at what you’ve done to my tomatoes…(as the racks go deformed on the

ground)

CAR DRIVER

Just shut it up old man, shut up…look here, you’re not ZEBRA man,

….the rules are clear. Keep left!

And you just broke the LAW so ….as the crowd has started to

gather, some getting on to confront the driver. We hear police sirens

getting louder and the crowd instantly react, most backing off the scene.

The man at the scene, turtled by what he should do about his tomatoes

and the idiot driver,….he mumbles …this learner gonna compensate my

time and tomatoes, and making me look a fool, and…DRIVER CUTS IN

..and get out of my way now!!as he roars the engine, but the police

already has got to em.

ZOOM TO:

THREE YEARS AGO…

EXT MAIN MARKET/DAY

We focus on a swirling mass of sandals, we PAN to the torso and

realize several kids, most of them teens with a few homeless adults, all

seated low or standing along the sidewalks. Most have got blank but

pleading faces…they beg for food, for change. Just anything that can give

them a day. Pathetic and broken,they are ignored by the country’s biers

LAWS. We focus on walls and electric poles, all have posters…

{GIVING TO STREET CHILD CRIMINALIZED.GOV’T NOTICE}

A kid holds out an arm, trying to beg a passerby on a business suit.

KID;

Help me please, am hungry…as the man ignores and disappears in

to the crowd. A young filthy kid with a shaggy mane of dreadlocks

finishes off a with a plastic bottle of MIRINDA ORANGE SODA and

pees in to the bottle, then tosses to a veranda as fun trap…who knows?

CUT TO EXT TOWN CORRIDOR;

A garbage truck strolls by and we view its POV as several kids


struggle to get first for food. A littlant reaches for a package bag, checks
in and sends a half-eaten MANDASI home, smiles and stuffs his hand to
his pocket, gets a bottle of MIRINDA O’..opens and ready to send it
home when,,,,khock! an older, rude and tough looking boy pocks the kids
head. Before the kid can react, the bully has snatched and started the
yellow drink home already when…. spshrrrrshh...he spits in agony.
And fast as a cat, he grabs the kids collar bone tight and presses it,
pushes in his long fingers as the kid yells in pain.
BULLY;
You fool, you think you so smart? Lemme teach you this lesson…he
slaps the kid on face and sends him flying to the ground KRRRAP!
SHOTS OF OTHER younger kids suffering the same experience.
VOICE NARRATES;(V.O)
Its CLEAR the evolution LAWS work here… SURVIVAL FOR
THE FITTEST. Organisms which are not well adapted to certain
environments are weeded out while those with good adaptations survive
and pass on their genes to the next generation. But what do we expect
when the truth is kept secret? Everybody knows and have the sense of
humor. We all accept pain, believe in poverty as suffering, wish
innocently to help the needy, but only remember that after pretending we
didn’t see the side walk beggar. We wishing tomorrow…until we become
beggars aswel. Anyways, street life is not a new scandal to the globe
today. Centuries ago, shots of olden time towns with filthy beggars and
mad gangs. VOICE CONTINUES……But with this modern world,
things have just got a little crazy. And surely ironic. Whatever it is we are
trying to create within, it’s at the climax. Maybe we’ll get to know the
other side of life. I mean death, it’s so sad none of us can tell about death.
Who knows, I too believe death could be one of the greatest gifts GOD
has given to mankind. Well, I don’t pretend to know God’s will, but am

sure of one thing …. the LORD always has a good reason, perhaps he lets
these happen because he needs you…maybe for some higher calling.

CUT TO EXT CITY STREET LANE

His POV of three young teens walking by. BEEP…
EXT: CITY STREET SIDE PARKING (LATE EVENING)
BEEP BEEP! Sounds like a gimme way at first …but later we view
a hand waving for the girls from the BEEPING car’s side shield.
The distant silhouetted figures now are moving closer to the scene
but stops as meaning not to be seen.
EXT TOM’S CAR
The three girls hurry each portraying a secret hope for the catch.
They all wave their tiny fingers ….saying hi.
TOM;
NANA) beautiful can we have a night?(he smiles evil)

TOM
(TO THE TWO REMAINING GIRLS ….hope this will keep you
bitches better../he hands them two brown bottles)As they depart from
scene.
CUT TO INT TOM’S CAR
It looks as neat and mannish…with several brown bottles of some
unknown liquid and beer at the back seat. Nana looks through ..then rolls
her eyes, without trying to catch TOM’S eye line. She then wears a blank
cute, but troubled face.
TOM;
Hey cutie..lady (turns to get her eyes but she won’t give a damn. she
keeps her eyes away)well, am TOM. Call me Uncle Tom if you like.
I guess you understand me better than those bottles you’re staring at.
Eh? as he offers his hand for a shake of culture. NANA HESITATES,
THEN SLOWLY TURNS AND GIVES A LAZY SMILE.
TOM
Oh sorry young lady…I always forget the rules. He begins to extend
a hand behind to pick up a jet fuel…as he speaks…I think I got some…
Nana CUTS
NANA
Okay MR Fuel, to where now? And please lemme know if it’s a
whole night business or…and don’t think am that foolish to get drunk
right. Am in for business..not huffing your soup. SHE KEEPS STARING
STRAIGHT AHEAD.
TOM;
Well, we got several lodges in this town…..but we cant use one. Let
me take you to a hotel please, he looks straight at her and smiles. She
doesn’t respond. Something seems unusual about Nana…he thinks as he
narrows his eyes!
INT CAR:POV Of a beautiful runaway to a still blurred building.
We move closer to round a four storied building and several expensive
cars parked.

He takes left….a beat with total silence then parks the car and A
BEAT… he glances at the side mirror then kills the engine.
EXT PARKING LOT
Two figures dash to a dark veranda and get out of view.
INT CAR: Tom
Ooh waaweeh, baby this gonna be our birthday! Come on don’t your
mama teach you to be nice to good men like me?
Look, I gotta a lot of money to give you…a beat…then he resumes
cmon baby just come gimme (he smiles widely)
Nana does not interrupt but just stares out…Completely lost in
thoughts.We close up to her strikingly beautiful face and realize tears
drain out of her red eyes.She give a sigh and … majestically moves out of
the car.WE PAN on to the co driver door side and see TOM holding open
the door for Nana to move out.
TOM:
As he closes the door, he looks around as if scanning for anyone
following them.
EXT CAR PARKING:
Tom claims…Hey baby it’s okay now, ah aam lets get in. They push
through a large door and scan through the reception room.
CUT TO:INT HOTEL RECEPTION
NICE HOTEL WITH A CLUB ATMOSPHERE, A FEW STAFF
MOST OF WHO ARE YOUNG GIRLS IN EARLY TWENTIES…
FEMALE STAFF#1, calls out
Hello Sir, how can we help…BEFORE SHE COMPLETES, TOM
INTERRUPTS
TOM:
Hmm maam I need a room for two. Hope you foxes got no demn
bedbugs around in here..HE LOOKS TO NANA WHO ALL SEEMS

merely shrugs and and give a teasing smile this time
TOM:
Wow that’s my girl! Now we can be baby,...he then puts his hands
around her shoulder and through the corridor they stagger as POV.. they
disappear to a room.
CUT TO INT: RECEPTION
STAFF#2 (WHO WE ARE GOING TO CALL JANE)
JANE:
I just hate the way some people reason. ..SARAH TRIES TO
IGNORE BUT JANE HURRIEDLY CONTINUES… look girl, I just left
that shit business.
SARAH CUTS IN:..woa, you now call it shit? After you surviving
with it, just cease your… A BEAT… negativity and try to be positive as
I always do!I don’t have the idea as to why you should care anyway, I
wish you stop stressing yourself about others` issues! Girl, that’s her

CUT TO:INT MAN`S HOME


Wife WHO WE ARE GOING TO CALL MAGGIE…she looks
pissed up and unsettled…AT A DISTANT VIEW WE SEE HER
APPROACH AND OPENS A DOOR.As she closes up, we take a
blurred, and then a clear view of two little children curling under a
blanket..deep asleep.

CLOSE UP OF Maggie’s face, pale with tight angry lips…that she


bites continually. She then closes the door and walks to her bed, picks a
dial and tries a number that goes BEEP BEEP BEEP but no answers.
CUT TO: INT HOTEL BED ROOM 7
Nana dashes to the bathroom and closes the door behind her…all we
can hear are muffled sounds as she vomits and sobs.
TOM SEATS BACK ON A NEAT BED ,QUIET WITH A
SURPRISE LOOK ON HIS FACE
CUT TO INT BATHROOM
Nana grabs a towel and clutches it to her chest, runs water down her
face and dries with the towel. She then weakly runs down her hands OUT
OF OUR VIEW and brings to scene several white tablets(aspirin), rises
her head and drains the pills home.
CUT TO INT RECEPTION ROOM
JANE CONTINUES:
Don’t get me wrong, but I once had that experience…(A BEAT OF
SILENCE) then SHE CONTINUES…I mean am was a sex slave WITH
A CROACKED VOICE SHE CONTINUES…that’s how I survived,
nhmmm not that I preferred it so, but conditions forced me and I felt I
had nothing left to do…CUT TO SCENES OF HER PAST…SHE

me realize the saddest thing on this damn earth is to have nobody by your

I never saw my parents to my senses, I grew up an orphan…or
maybe more…and when the woman who took care of me died, that was
when I realized I had nobody to lean on.I was only 13 though,…

TOM:

CLOSE UP ON HIS DISTURBED FACE AND TREMBLING
LIPS…NANA nervously picks it out to reveal a cell phone
NANA:

and checks for the dial, and latest is a name saved HONEY. He gets

NANA:

NANA:

Then TOM swaggers up and advances even closer and closer then
suddenly NANA brings a lightning fast blow aimed to the TOMS face
but then he intercepts it effortlessly, and grasps her hands then pulls her
to his breath.
TOM:
Oh oh oh … now you have hurt my feelings. He puts his arms
around NANAS throat , pins her to the wall, then with a deadly roar,
plunges his face on her…lifts her up to the bed.
CUT TO INT RECEPTION:
JANE: STILL SOBBING…
And so I decided I go on to prostitution afterwards…then by Gods
grace, I met a savior one day.
SARAH:

LOOKS A LITTLE DISTURBED)
Mr. BEN remains silent as though no one is talking.
JANE ADVANCES AND AS SHE CLOSES TO BEN, WE PAN
TO HIS POV OF THE NOTES HE IS JOTTING.HE THEN SLIPS IT

Mr. BEN:

JANE:

Mr. BEN:

Mr. BEN
It is okay please, do not feel condemned because you are not alone,
not anymore. Just know God is taking over from here child. HE HANDS

ZOOM TO CURRENT DAY…INT MOTEL RECEPTION
SARAH:
Oh what was the card all about? And didn't he ask for anything else?

moving by and attending to the patients. The camera rolls and CLOSES
TO AN OLD WOODEN DOOR WRITTEN EMERGENCY WARD.

A fewer number of beds and patients with their attendants, its the
traditional British set up to date. Two doctors appear to be finalizing their
duty on a patient at a corner.

TOM IS CRUELLY REACTING TO THE ATTACK, he hurries up

to his feet and grabs the first stool then throws it at BOY #2, who dodges

it effortlessly. Tom sends another weapon, and this time realize how fast

he accompanies the stool. And as BOY#2 tries to dodge the stool, Tom is

already on him

POV as we see BOY#2 groan in pain. It is too late for him now.

Tom hits him on the left rib several times and we see thee boy lose it all.

He falls on the floor and Tom stands breathing heavily over him.

CUT TO BOY BOY#1 AND MAGGY STILL YELLING FOR

HELP.

The boy reaches Maggy with his club and almost hitting her then he

hears the hears a noise of breaking glasses, then look at Tom standing

over his motionless victim on the floor.

MAGGY(All scared out by what she sees).

corridor and runs on CAPT...who just looks at him and understands the

CAPT runs towards Toms bedroom and

Tom is so unsettled as we see him searching for something in his

drawer. He comes out with a pistol and as he is still thinking,…CAPT

flies to him with a deadly kick which sends Tom to the floor and his

pistol falls near Maggy, who gives another screem!

CUT TO EXT: TOMS HOUSE.

We CLOSE UP to see Sam Fred with four other police officers who

are training their guns and moving around the house.

POV of Sam Fred kneeling and talking to the kid#1, who is seated

on the veranda BUT THEIR SPEECH IS MOUFFLED.

Toms house with their guns trained.

his leg. CAPT lands behind the sofa with a scream.

EXT BEDROOM CORRIDOR:

The team, with Sam Fred on the lead freeze on hearing the gun shot,

and then the scream by CAPT. They resume and this time with much

attention and force.

They brake through the door at once and all commanding Tom

freeze or we shoot!

SAM FRED:

Drop that gun now drop it! You are under arrest Mr Tom, and you

have the rights to shut up!

He gives up and drops the pistol and steps back as ordered, an

officer cuffs him as a female officer cuffs muggy.
