SOP OF OPERATION & CLEANING OF DISTILLATION ASSEMBLY

1.0 OBJECTIVE
To obtain distilled water .

2.0 SCOPE
To obtain for purified water for analysis .

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
Concern Supervisor / Chemist,
Q.C. ,Q.A. In-charge.

4.0 PROCEDURE

a) S.O.P.

1 Clean the Round bottle flasks, condensers very carefully .

2 Make joint this equipment accordingly & fitted this assembly by stand.
3 Take water to be distilled & heated with the help of electric burner .
Start to flow water through condenser .
4 Allow to boiled water & vapoured product which is condensed by
condenser & condensed water kept by reservoir which is coming
through out let.
5 This condensed water is first distilled water , if double distilled water
is required , again allow to condensed this previous condensed water
by 2nd condenser.
6 Get 2nd distilled product from outlet assembly which is used for
H.P.L.C. as a H.P.L.C. water .
 7 Open out the joint assembly separately & kept in proper place after
cleaning & drying .

b) STANDARD CLEANING & WASHING PROCEDURE

After using instruments or assembly clean it with water thoroughly &
dry it for next use.
