RIDLEY VALLEY TUTORIAL

RVT (Tutor/Admin)
EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT

WHEREAS, the RVT is a tutoring institution Ridley Valley Tutorial and is committed to maintain
in the framework of high educational standards; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the RVT to employ highly qualified teachers who support the
school program in pursuit of such high educational standards;

WHEREAS, the RVT (hereinafter called Ridley Valley tutorial) and


_________________________________________________________ (hereinafter called
the Tutor) agree to the following conditions of employment, to witch:

1. The term of this agreement is effective on 01 March 2023 to 28 February 2024


2. The Tutor shall abide by the Rules and Regulations and all other provisions of
employment as set by the School Board;
3. The Tutor will accept all reasonable assignments and responsibilities assigned within the
bounds of the duties and responsibilities as set by the same;
4. The Tutor will faithfully perform the tasks assigned in conformity with the mission, vision,
philosophy and standards set by the tutoring education and will uphold the directives of
the school as represented by the School Board, as well as the directives and policies of
the Department of Education;
5. The Tutor agrees to serve the RVT from Monday to Sunday and within the times 0600am
to 0000 depending with students needs and to perform other duties assigned by the
administrator; and to work cooperatively with the staff, faculty and administration of the
RVT;
6. The Tutor shall devote a reasonable amount of out-of-class time to curriculum-
development, to sponsoring student activities, and to other duties as assigned by the
administrator
7. The Tutor shall teach for the entire duration of the school year stated therein;
8. The Tutor shall notify the School Board in writing three (3) months before the end of his
or her contract of his/ her intention whether to stay or leave for the following school year
unless the RVT gives the Tutor written notice of its intention not to re-employ the Tutor;
9. The Tutor may be suspended or discharged for good cause as shall be determined in the
exclusive discretion of the School Board. It is specifically understood that good cause for
discharge shall include but not be limited to: inadequacy of teaching, misconduct, neglect
of duty, physical or mental incapacity, actions involving moral turpitude, violation of the
terms of this agreement or RVT’s policy, or any conduct not in keeping with the or
conduct tending to reflect discredit upon the school or tending to impair the Tutor’s
usefulness in his capacity as a teacher;
10. Thus, in reference to 9 above the tutor is entitled to report or be a witness to any
misconduct by another tutor (put your job security above your friendship). Tutors are not
allowed to have non-academic relationships with students of any age even students not
enrolled directly by RVT but learning at the school building to avoid confusion. (Put your
job security above your genitals) discipline start with you. Like any other work
environment office relationships between tutors is not encouraged as it might pose
conflict of interest or could impact the institute’s bottom line & tutor professionalism.
11. Tutors may have their own private students paying usd20 per student/month but should
not conflict with RVT students or former students. You cannot personalize a former RTV
student

12. RVT employs the Tutor at a monthly salary calculated at usd10/student per class of 6-
10 non-a-level students usd15/student per class of 2-5 non-a-level students
usd20/student per class of 1 non-a-level student. usd20/student for a class of 6-10 A-
level students. usd25/student for a class of 2-5 a-level students. usd30/student for a
class of 1 student.1-on-1 are paid at usd3/hr. home visits at usd4/hr.the salary payments
shall be payable between the 1st to the fifteenth (15th) of each month;

Administrator duties and responsibilities

The Administrator creates a positive and appropriate learning


environment through the management of a school. Their duties
include helping deliver the highest standard of education to the
students, supporting Teachers and staff and ensuring an overall safe
and successful school environment.
A Headteacher must be prepared to face a wide range of challenges
and responsibilities daily. They should be able to communicate in
public and spend time on their own completing administrative
assignments. Their main duties and responsibilities include:

 Creating an academic programme for students that meets


national standards
 Working closely and communicating with students’ parents
 Helping assess students’ needs and development
 Selecting, training, supporting and assessing staff
 Providing guidance to staff to help resolve issues with students
 Using data to track student performance and produce reports
 Working with external advisors and school governors
 Ensuring the safety of all children in the institution/programme
The administrator should be able to work with the director’s personal assistant but report
directly to the director
The administrator salary starts at usd2400/year paid monthly at usd200/month on top
of their teaching salary. Other benefits include interest free car loan after 1 year & when
the school enrolment is over 100 students

13. It is agreed that the conditions of this contract shall only be changed by the written
agreement of the tutor and the RVT;

This contract shall be binding during the period stated herein and shall automatically expire by
the term thereof without the need of any notice to that effect. Also, it is agreed that the
performance of the Tutor shall be subject to periodic assessment and review of the School Board;

As a member of the SCHOOL’s teaching force, I understand that I am bound to teach in this
institution for the duration of the entire school year;

This contract of employment is binding between the parties and no other representation, be they
oral or written and this agreement in its performance and interpretation shall be governed by
the laws of the Republic of the Zimbabwe.
In effect, I signify to abide and agree to the above terms and conditions, I place my signature in
this document on the __________ day of __________, 20__.
