British School Key Stage 4 IGCSE Option Choices

IGCSE Options Choices for Academic Year 2022-23

Dear Year 9 Parents and Students,

At Belvedere British School, we will be offering students a wide range of International GCSE
level qualifications administered through Edexcel with external examinations to be taken
at the end of Key Stage 4 in Year 11.

These subjects will be taught from September 2022, with students being externally assessed
in May 2024.

Students will be taking 3 core subjects (Maths, English Language and Science) and a further
5 optional subjects, giving a total of 8 IGCSE qualifications.

Acceptance to Triple Science requires a high level of achievement and the recommendation
of your teacher and Head of Science.

Please note the following:
• Students who choose Double Science will not be able to choose Global Citizenship.
• Students who choose Triple Science will not be able to choose Global Citizenship or
Geography. Business is also available in Block 3

Logistically, providing this many options is challenging for the school, but at BBS we want
to put the students first. Our aim is for students to choose the subjects that they enjoy, and
may look to pursue in further education.

We have previously held an online information and Q&A meeting with parents and in
person meetings with students to discuss the options process. If you have additional
questions, students and parents will be able to contact me, Dr Ahmed, their form tutor (Ms
Rena and Mr Johnson) or Mr Fred for further career guidance.

Please sign and complete the attached form indicating the option choices and return
it to Ms Natalie by Friday 17th June.

The forms will then be reviewed by Heads of Department, Head of Key Stage 4 and the
Vice Principal.
