The Basic Diagrams in

Extractive Metallurgy

Fahir Arısoy, Seref Sonmez, Bora Derin

1
Aim of this course:

To introduce the basic diagrams (excluding the phase diagrams) used

generally in extractive metallurgy processes such as Selective Roasting,
Reduction or Matte Smelting, Distillation, Rafination, Leaching, Solvent
Extraction, etc.

7 team= 3 person
2 team= 2 person

3 teams for each week

Team work is important. Equal time for each speaker.

Max. 25 min for presentations + 10 minutes for questions

Examples = Distillation, Rafination, Selective Roasting, Reduction
or matte smelting, Leaching, Solvent Extraction, Construction of
Eh-pH or Kellog Diagrams, etc.

Describe the whole process and how the basic diagrams (not
necessarily discussed during the course) were used in the
selected process OR if they weren’t, describe how they can be
used.
