BE USED TO

BE USED TO
Be used to means “be accustomed to”. We use be used to to express
a state.

Be used to is usually followed by the -ing form of verb or a noun.

Examples:

When I first started this job, I wasn't used to working on weekends.

I’ve lived here for ten years now so I’m used to driving in the city.

He’s not used to working at night so he sometimes falls asleep.

Were you used to working such long hours when you started your
new job?

Tom is used to hard work.

He wasn´t used to the cold.

Peter isn´t used to noisy cities

Were you used to the climate?

Do not to confuse be used to with the habitual past used to.


Examples:

I am used to getting up early.

I used to get up early.
