principles of Occupational Health and Safety procedure in relation to health and
risks Hazards in the workplace.

B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able to independently observe precautionary


measures and responds to OHS procedures in the workplace as prescribe by
TESDA training Regulation.

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) -


is a planned system of working to
prevent an illness and injury where you
work by Identifying Hazards and Risks.

Three (3) steps used to manage Health


and Safety at work:

1. Spot the Hazards - A Hazards is


anything that could hurt you or
someone.
2. Assess the Risk - means working
but how likely it is that a Hazard
will harm someone and how
serious the harm could be.
3. Make the Changes - yours
employer's responsibility to fix
hazard. Sometimes you may be
able to fix simple hazard yourself
if you don't put yourself or
others at risk.

Common Hazards encountered by


computer Technician and users:

1. Physical Hazards - Factor or


circumstances that can cause
harm with contact.
2. Mechanical Hazards - When
working on electronic
equipment, ask yourself "is
there any way this equipment
could hurt me?
3. Chemical Hazards - There is a
wide array of chemical used with
electronic equipment.

Example:

Hydrogen Sulfide is a chemical
