HELPING HANDS: HANDICAPPED STUDENTS CARE A Project Proposal In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Subject Foundation of Special and Inclusive Educ: Jamaica I. Aquino February 11, 2023 Project Proposal Title: “HELPING HANDS: HANDICAPPED STUDENTS CARE” Introduction ‘There are students in every classroom who are proficient in a wide range of subjects. In the Philippines there are 47,421 public schools, The Philippines’ transition to a K-12 education system was led by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED). The shift to a K-12 model made it possible for American educational establishments to market degree programs and universities to Filipino students. The current educational system is not designed to meet the diverse needs of all children because it is based on a teacher-centered, prescribed curriculum and rote learning, Today, the average child is taught by teachers, and despite being present in the classroom, nearly half of the children do not even get the chance to learn, While some students remember school as a place where they were able to discover their passion or connect with a favorite mentor, others remember it as a place where discrimination prevented them from pursuing their goals. According to The Atlantic's reporting, discrimination in the classroom can take many forms and have serious effects on learning. We want to accomplish this project by putting our efforts into creating an ecosystem that welcomes and supports struggling learners throughout their life cycle, resulting in better life outcomes. “Helping Hands: Handicapped Students Care” aims to create a paradigm that is ‘open {o all students and helps them achieve better learning outcomes. We provide enrichment materials to excite and engage high achievers in the classroom as well as nal learning tools to assist struggling students. The community, parents, and ssional staff at the school will also raise awareness of the advantages of inclusive education because they see diversity as a benefit to society as a whole. Teachers and parents are also involved in this project because, in comparison to other things, they are machines that can fully support individual students’ growth and learning. In that case, a teacher's expertise and parental involvement are required. Additionally, teachers and parents will gain a deeper understanding of how to scientifically and methodically work ‘with marginalized groups and how to include students in daily activities. Specifically, the goals of this project are: © To ensure that no one is left behind inclusive education solutions address the disparities that vulnerable populations confront and improve their learning and job results. © toenhance teachers’ abilities to include members of all underrepresented groups. © to increase the participation of all vulnerable groups in school activities and their integration. © “to encourage parents to actively participate in school decision-making regarding inclusion issues.” © to modify and enhance the outdoor school setting, © to make people more aware of the advantages of inclusion and integration © toraise the academic and social status of students with special needs. ‘The project's objective can be achieved through the following actions and activities: © Develop School communities’ mindsets, skills, and collective energy necessary to make their schools more equitable and just in order for schools to be places where every young person is valued, their creative genius is celebrated, and they are prepared for success in life. © Awareness-Raising campaign on creating a friendly and healthy environment for inclusive learners.
