21 It is given that
Radius of sphere = 3cm
Diameter of spherical ball = 0.6cm
Radius of spherical ball = 0.6/2 = 0.3cm
We know that
Number of balls = Volume of sphere/ Volume of one small ball 1
So we get
Number of balls = (4/3 × (22/7) × 33)/ (4/3 × (22/7) × 0.33)
On further calculation
Number of balls = (4/3 × (22/7) × 27)/ (4/3 × (22/7) × 0.027)
We get
Number of balls = 1000

22 Let us consider the height of the tower as AB, the distance between the foot of the
tower to the point on the ground as BC. In ΔABC,.
tan C = AB/BC
tan 30° = AB/30
1/√3 = AB/30 1
AB = 30/√3
= (30 × √3) / (√3 × √3)
= (30√3)/3
= 10√3
Height of tower AB = 10√3 m. 1

23 <ACO=40⁰ 2
OR
Radius is 7 cm
24 Number is 36
OR
A=-3/2 b = -2
ab= 3
25 Total area cleaned at each sweep of the blades = 2 × Area cleaned at the sweep
of each wiper.
Area cleaned at the sweep of each wiper = Area of the sector of with radius 25 cm
at an angle of 115° 1
= θ/360° × πr2
= 115°/360° × π × 25 × 25
= 23/72 × 625π
There are two identical blade-length wipers.
∴ Total area cleaned at each sweep of the blades = 2 × 23/72 × 625π
= 2 × 23/72 × 22/7 × 625
= (23 × 11 × 625)/(18 × 7)
= 158125/126 cm2
= 1254.96 cm2

28 Since ABCD is a parallelogram circumscribed in a circle
1
AB=CD........ (1)
BC=AD........ (2)
DR=DS (Tangents on the circle from same point D)
CR=CQ (Tangent on the circle from same point C)
BP=BQ (Tangent on the circle from same point B )
AP=AS (Tangents on the circle from same point A)
1
Adding all these equations we get
DR+CR+BP+AP=DS+CQ+BQ+AS
(DR+CR)+(BP+AP)=(CQ+BQ)+(DS+AS)
CD+AB=AD+BC
Putting the value of equation 1 and 2 in the above equation we get
2AB=2BC
AB=BC........... (3)
From equation (1), (2) and (3) we get
AB=BC=CD=DA
1
∴ABCD is a Rhombus
29 X=-1, y=2 1.5
OR
a=8,b=5 1.5
30 X=-1/3,3/2 3
31 Let us assume, that √5 is rational number. 3
i.e. √5 = x/y (where, x and y are co-primes)
y√5= x
Squaring both the sides, we get,
(y√5)2 = x2
⇒5y2 = x2……………………………….. (1)
Thus, x2 is divisible by 5, so x is also divisible by 5.
Let us say, x = 5k, for some value of k and substituting the value of x in
equation (1), we get,
5y²= (5k)²
⇒y²= 5k²
is divisible by 5 it means y is divisible by 5.
Clearly, x and y are not co-primes. Thus, our assumption about √5 is rational
is incorrect.
Hence, √5 is an irrational number.
SECTION D
Section D consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each.
