Thank you very much for your letter. I am very excited about winning the
essay-writing competition and I am looking forward to visiting Edinburgh. However,
you failed to mention a few important details.
First of all, are meals included in the three-nights' accommodation in a hotel or
will we have to pay for those separately?
Secondly, you asked when I would prefer to take my prize. Would it be
possible to go on the trip the third weekend in July? Furthermore, my friend and I
would like to take optional sightseen tour.
Last but not least, could you tell me if there are any special arrangements, I
would like you to make for us. I was wandering if it would be possible to make travel
arrangements for us from Edinburgh airport to the hotel.

Watching TV is a complete waste of time

Nowadays, television has become an essential part of our lives. Almost. every
home has a TV set. Some people believe that watching television is a waste of tame.
However, in my book, it can have some benefits, too.
To begin with, even though it is widely believed that television might have a
bad influence, it cannot be denied that it keeps you up to date with what is going on.
In this day and age, thanks to the news coverage from all over the world, it is easy to
follow international events almost in real time.
Moreover, watching television can be very important for people, for example
the elderly, who are on their own. Nevertheless, pets can keep better company, but
some people are allergic to animal fur and not everybody is fond of them.
To my mind, the main benefit is that television provides an endless source of
entertainment. It offers a huge variety of programmes, such as comedies, dramas and
even the opportunity to enjoy watching documentary or historical films. If you
choose to watch only reality shows or soap operas, television is not to blame, but you
are.
To put it in a nutshell, watching TV maybe a good way to relax our mind or
gain information about important events happening in the world. In my opinion,
television is one of the greatest inventions of our highly developed society, which is
certain to increase immensely in popularity for a very long time (for donkey's years).
