Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan Science 4

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 50 minutes, the pupils are expected to:
a. Identify the different parts of the brain and brain diseases and disorders.
b. Share the importance of the brain to living things.
c. Illustrate the image of the brain.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Living Things
Lesson: The Brain
Materials: Laptop, projector, power point presentation, answer sheets, letter
cut outs.
References: Science in our World 4

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
a. Prayer
 The teacher will ask the students to stand up and pray.

b. Checking of Attendance
 The teacher will check the attendance.

c. Review
 The teacher will ask the class about the previous lesson.
 The teacher will call some of the pupils to share what they have
learned from the previous lesson.

B. Motivation
 The teacher will introduce the game “4pics, 1word”.
 The teacher will flash the pictures using the projector.
 The pupils will guess what word will best describe the pictures.
 The teacher will ask someone to give their answer.

C. Activities
 The teacher will group the class into four.
 Each group will solve the scrambled letters for 3 minutes only.
 Each group who will get the correct answer will get incentives.
D. Abstraction
 The class will proceed to the next lesson which is The Brain.
 The teacher will ask the pupils’ idea about the brain.
 The teacher will discuss what is brain and its three different parts.
 The teacher will ask the pupils’ idea about the brain diseases and
disorders.
 The teacher will enumerate and explain the different brain diseases
and disorders.
 The teacher will enumerate and discuss exercises for the brain to
function well.

E. Application
 The pupils will draw the human brain and make an essay about its
importance.

IV. ASSESSMENT
 The teacher will distribute the answer sheets to the pupils.
 The pupils will answer the questions about the parts and brain
diseases and disorders.

V. ASSIGNMENT
 Create a prototype brain using recycled material. Ask your parents
or siblings in doing this.

 The teacher will explain what is the male reproductive system.
 The teacher will randomly pick pupils to give ideas regarding to the
function of the male reproductive system.

system and its functions.

 The pupils will make an essay about the importance of the male
reproductive system in reproduction of human.
 The pupils will draw the male reproductive system put labels on its
parts.

from the previous lesson on the board.

B. Motivation
 The teacher will introduce a Filipino game called “Nanay, Tatay”
 The pupils will find their partner (seatmate) to play with.
 The pair of pupils who will commit a mistake will be eliminated.
 The game will continue for 3 minutes only.

C. Activities
 The teacher will group the class into four.
 Each group will pick a representative to add the numbers.
 The teacher will show math number sentence using flash cards.
D. Abstraction
 The class will proceed to the next lesson which is The Addition of
Fractions.
 The teacher will ask the pupils’ idea in adding fractions.
 The teacher will explain how to add fractions.
 The teacher will ask some pupils to add fractions on the board.
 The teacher will discuss how to add dissimilar fractions.
 The pupils will try to add dissimilar fraction on the board.

E. Application
 The class will be grouped by four.
 The teacher will flash the questions using the projector.
 The group who will get the highest score will win.

V. ASSIGNMENT
 List the things that you can do to prevent climate change. Ask any
family members about this.
