Marijuana. This is a modern medicine that is widely used
and known. Marijuana is the term for cannabis of people nowadays. Due of the ongoing discussion on whether it should be legalized or not, it is a very popular topic today. Some people want it legalized so they won’t have to keep it a secret from law enforcement or for medical reasons, but I don’t think it should be because it’s a very dangerous substance. Cannabis poses a serious threat to society. There are many arguments to support or oppose the legalization of this potent substance, but only a few provide more than enough evidence to support my position that it shouldn’t. One key factor for being against it is that it is very dangerous for the users. Even though many don 't realize it, it damages your organs and body and it can kill you. Some people may say, "but Marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol and tobacco." Yes, it may seem like it 's less dangerous, but it is scientifically proven that in the long run, it is as or even more dangerous than alcohol and tobacco. On the other hand, marijuana has been proven treatment for many ailments. However legalizing it would be a big problem because we cannot deny the fact that people are more abusers than we could think about. Some may use it too much to the point that it could no longer be just a treatment for them but to satisfy their addiction. Let’s say cannabis or marijuana really does help those people who are suffering with some ailments and can be benefited through cannabis treatment but only few people provides facts and opinions with evidences of it that’s what it is really hard for us to believe and persuaded that marijuana should be legalized in the Philippines for it acts as an open door for some teenagers to engage in some addictions due to their curiosity. In conclusion, I think that marijuana should not be legalized because it has a negative impact on a lot of people and is practically lethal for many people who use it and many others that smoke it around them. Your body is severely poisoned by it. It is significantly riskier than a simple cigarette, it harms teens and young people severely, and it puts many lives at risk since it impairs judgment. As was previously stated, marijuana poses a serious threat to society, and I firmly believe that it should not be legalized.
