various tea samples

Aim:
To compare the oxalic acid
content in various tea leaves.
Materials required:
1: 5g of different tea samples
2: calcium carbonate
3: filter paper, funnel
4: beaker, tripod stand,
Bunsen burner.
5: wire gauge, chemical
balance.

Procedure:
1: weight 5g of first tea
sample leaves.
2: take 100ml water in beaker
3: put the leaves in beaker and
boil for 10 minutes.

4: Filter above boiled solution


using filter paper into another
beaker.
5: Then add 2ml of caco3 and
boil.

6: Filter again in another one


there will be a ppt of calcium
oxalate. keep it for drying
7: weight the calcium oxalate.
