BRIEF SCOPE OF WORKS
BRIEF SCOPE OF WORKS:
The project Nadd Al Shiba 3rd Sewerage And Storm water System covers an approximate area of
340 ha. The project Nadd Al Shiba 3rd Sewerage And Storm water System project serves the
communities of 616. The communities comprise of different land uses like residential, commercial
and other public facilities.

Scope of work for Sewerage System


The scope of work for the proposed sewerage network comprises of house connection serving the
residential, commercial and public facility units in order to convey the sewage to the main collector
line and finally discharges to the existing Pumping Station V. The Length of the proposed
collection gravity network is almost 23.10 km and the diameter ranging from 200 mm to 600 mm
(excluding House Connection Pipe Length). The total peak flow to the existing Pumping station V
is 234.58 lps, from Nadd Al Shiba 3.

Scope of Drainage system


The scope of work for the proposed storm water drainage based on the catchment delineation and
topography study over all project’s catchments, the storm system is a gravity network discharging
the run-off to the existing pond 13 via a proposed lift station adjacent to the pond.

The gravity storm network designed to serve Nadd Al Shiba development, Al Manama road and a
small area of Al Warsan 2&3 during the storm event, this network is the downstream of
International City and Al Warsan 2&3, the main line of the drainage system proposed in Al
Manama Road will operate as an evacuation line to evacuate the existing International city pond
and the proposed ponds in Al Wasran 2&3 areas in the off-peak storm event. The Length of the
proposed main gravity network is almost 30.70 km and the diameter ranging from 250 mm to
1500mm (excluding Gully connection Pipe Length).

The scope of work under Dubai Municipality (DM) does not include the gullies, however tapping
lines from the manholes / land drain pipes have been provided, the gullies installation will be along
with the road contract.

Construction of the proposed Nadd Al Shiba Storm Water Pump Station (near the existing
Pumping station DB-21)

Construct SWD Pump station near the existing pumping station DB-21 including all Civil & Electro-
Mechanical work with associated works complete as shown on drawings, specification and
standards; including (but not limited to) the following:

Pump station capacity of 3,600 lps with pump configuration of 3 no. duty & 1no. assist pump.
The above scope of WORKS shall include supply, installation, temporary WORKS and all necessary
testing, commissioning, interfacing with other Contracts and handing over on successful completion of
the WORKS.
Note:- Please be noted that the quantities mentioned above are indicative only. The Tenderer to refer
the BOQ and Drawings for the relevant quantities.

2. Visiting Site and Examining Documents

of his decision to the Employer and the Contractor.
Such decision shall state that it is made pursuant
to this Clause 67.1.

(B) Unless the Contract has already been repudiated,


or the Contractor expelled from the Site, or the
Contract has already been terminated, the
Contractor shall, in every case, continue to proceed
with the Works with all due diligence and the
Contractor and the Employer shall give effect
forthwith to every such decision of the Engineer
unless and until the same shall be revised, as
hereinafter provided.

(C) If either the Employer or the Contractor be


dissatisfied with any decision of the Engineer, or
with the reasons given for his decision, or if the
Engineer fails to give notice of his decision, or fails
to specify the reasons and logical foundation of his
decision, or r before the thirtieth (30th) day after
the day on which he received the reference, then
either the Employer or the Contractor may:

(a) on or before the twentieth (20th) day


after the day on which he received notice
of such decision, or

(b) on or before the twentieth (20th) day

to a matter in dispute to the Employer and the
Contractor an no notice of intention to amicable
settlement as to such dispute has been given by
either the Employer or the Contractor on or before
the twentieth (20th) day after the day on which
the Parties received notice as to such decision
from the Engineer, the said decision shall become
final and binding upon the Employer and the
Contractor.

67.2 Amicable Delete this clause in its entirety and


Settlement substitute with the following:

Where notice of intention to amicable settlement


as to dispute has been given in accordance with
Clause 67.1, the Parties shall attempt to settle
such dispute amicably. Provided that, unless the
Parties otherwise agree, the dispute shall be
settled amicably within ninety (90) days from the
day on which notice of intention to amicable
settlement of such dispute was given, even if no
attempt at amicable settlement thereof has been
made.

67.3 Conciliation Delete this clause in its entirety and substitute with the

Where neither the Employer nor the Contractor has


given notice of intention to amicable settlement of
a dispute within the period stated in Clause 67.1
and the related decision has become final and
binding, either Party may, if the other Party fails to
comply with such decision, and without prejudice to
any other rights it may have, refer the failure to the
Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department in
accordance with Clause 67.3. The provisions of
Clause 67.1 and 67.2 shall not apply to any such
reference.

SCHEDULE OF CONSULTANT’S
SITE OFFICE FACILITIES

The Contractor shall provide, maintain and keep clean, temporary site offices with all associated
equipment, fittings and services for the engineer’s satisfaction and for the exclusive use of the
Engineer's Representative and his staff, from commencement until one month after the completion of
the whole of the Works.

The temporary site offices shall be either prefabricated portable unit/s or alternatively of some other
form of weatherproof design and construction to the approval of the Engineer.

The offices shall have full partitions and room sizes shall be as shown in the attached Schedule of
offices. All rooms shall have individual entrance doors.

Corridor and entrance areas shall be additional to the office sizes.

The offices shall be air-conditioned with the exception of the Toilet, Shower and Kitchen areas.

All rooms shall have glazed windows complete with fly screens.

Adequate fitted hardware, electrical switches, sockets, lighting and plumbing fittings, sanitary ware
and fittings and fixtures etc., shall be provided as necessary for the different areas.

The electrical installation shall provide for simultaneous use of all electrical appliances.

The Contractor may either arrange for a temporary power supply to the offices or alternatively
provide and maintain adequate diesel generator sets. All electricity bills shall be paid by the
Contractor.

The Contractor may either arrange for a temporary mains water supply or alternatively provide
tankered water supply. All water bills shall be paid by the Contractor.

A telephone line with extensions shall be provided for the offices as shown in the Schedule of Fittings
and the Contractor shall pay all installation and rental charges and call charges within the U.A.E. An
Independent Fax line including equipment and Internet/E-mail connection shall be provided.

Covered car parking areas shall be provided adjacent to the offices.

The Contractor shall submit any necessary drawings and calculations for the construction of the
offices for the Engineer's approval before commencing construction and shall be responsible for
ensuring that the offices are structurally sound. The Engineer may request alterations at this
stage. The drawings shall be approved in writing by the Engineer before installation/construction
shall commence.

The offices shall be completed and all the equipment provided by the end of the Mobilisation Period.

The Contractor shall provide all items listed in the attached Schedules.

Throughout the duration of the Contract, the Contractor shall ensure an uninterrupted supply of gas,
water and electricity to the offices.
