Broadcasting (Listener’s Licenses) (Fees) Notice, 2021
THE Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings, with the approval of
the Minister of Information and Publicity, hereby makes the following
notice in terms of section 38B(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act
[Chapter 12:06]:—
1. This notice may be cited as the Broadcasting (Listeners’
Licences) (Fees) Notice, 2021.
Interpretation
2. (1) In this notice—
“licences regulations” means the Broadcasting (Listeners’
Licenses) Regulations, 2003.
(2) Any expression to which a meaning has been assigned in
the licences regulations shall bear the same meaning when used in
this notice.
Fees for licenses
3. (1) The fee payable for a licence issued to a listener for a
receiver in terms of the licences regulations, or for the renewal of
such a licence, shall be—
(a) in the case of a listener’s licence (sound-rural), three
hundred dollars (ZWL$300,00) per annum;
(b) in the case of a listener’s licence (sound-urban), nine
hundred dollars (ZWL$900,00) per annum;
(c) in the case of a listener’s licence (sound and television),
two thousand and one hundred dollars (ZWL$ 2 100,00)
per annum;
(d) in the case of a listener’s licence (sound-business
premises), two thousand and one hundred dollars
(ZWL$ 2 100,00) per annum;
(e) in the case of listener’s licence (television-business
premises), four thousand and five hundred dollars
(ZWL$ 4 500,00) per quarter or part thereof;

(f) in the case of a listener’s licence (sound-private vehicle),
one thousand and eight hundred (ZWL $1 800,00) per
annum;
(g) in the case of listener’s licence (sound-employer-owned
vehicle), two thousand and four hundred (ZWL$ 2
400,00) per annum;
(h) in the case of listener’s licence (sound and television-
vehicle), five hundred dollars (ZWL$ 500,00) per quarter
or part thereof;
(i) in the case of listener’s concessionary licence, nil.
(2) The licence fees referred to in subsection (1) shall be
reviewed bi-annually.
Computation of rebates for surrendered licence
4. (1) The rebates referred to in section 10 subsections (1) and
(2) of the licences regulations shall be computed by multiplying one-
twelfth of the amount of the fee paid for the surrendered licence by
the number of complete months for which that licence would have
continued to be valid had it not been surrendered.
(2) For the purpose of the computation referred to in subsections
(1), a portion of a month exceeding fourteen days shall be deemed to
be a complete month.
Repeal
5. The Broadcasting (Listener’s Licences) (Fees) Notice, 2020,
published in Statutory Instrument 63 of 2020, is hereby repealed.
