2) Describe your role in the organization (it can be an internal or external role).
I have an internal role in this organization as a Kids Leader. I have been employed at the
organization for ten years in September holding various roles throughout my tenure. My

current role is to manage a team of 50-100 team members while overseeing kids’
activities such as summer and school break camps, daily childcare while parents and
guardians are within the facility, plan and deliver member events such as parent’s night
out or specialty events like Dazzle Dance, host birthday parties, and manage a rock wall.

Life Time opened on the public stock market in October of 2021. Since going public,
there have been changes in organization structure. Since going public incremental
responsibilities, and incentive metrics. The change most important to this situation is the
was communication that PTLs will no longer be receiving salaried pay effective January
1st, 2023. To be paid, each PTL will need to create a ‘book of business’ and personally
deliver on a minimum of 85 training session each month with an hourly base pay. The
PTL at my location did not agree with this change and has been employed for ten years
with earned paid time off (PTO) in accordance with policy. This individual takes a trip
every January to visit family in another country for two weeks. According to vacation
time policy, only twenty hours of PTO will transfer to a new calendar year. Previously

there was an agreement between the individual and General Manager to utilize his PTO
in January regardless of policy for his pay to not be affected. Since the new role
requirements (effective January 1, 2023) this was no longer an option. Due to efforts of
the General Manager, there was an exception made in order for the PTL to be paid over
his trip similar previous years. The PTL left for his trip January 2, 2023. On January 8,
2023, there was a comment made by the PTLs significant other on a social media
platform in response to one of the executives that was distasteful towards the executive
and company. After the post was made the executive called the General Manager and
said to have the significant other delete the post. The post was not deleted as the PTL and
significant other were unreachable. There has since been communication with Human
Resources to remove the PTL from the position. The PTL will return to work from
vacation on Monday, January 16th, 2023. This situation does not directly apply to my
position however I was made aware by the General Manager of the situation upon
discovery and was in the room when the call between the General Manager and Human
