Technique/ Formula for impromptu speech:

1. FAC (Feeling, Anecdote, Correlation)


Feeling - Give your honest opinion on a topic. It could be based on your personal
belief or opinion, or it could be based on your experience. Whatever form it takes,
make sure it is honest and true to the best of your ability. Basically, you must
espouse originality and honesty in showing your feelings for a place or subject.
Anecdote- Nothing is more captivating than a good story. Tell a story about
something related to the topic. Make it interesting while remaining relevant to the
topic of discussion.
Correlation- Connect the anecdote to the topic at hand. After telling your story,
you can discuss why the subject is important to you.

2. PREP (Point, Reason, Example, Point)


Point- What do you want to discuss
Reason- Why do you want to discuss
Example- Personal experience
Point- How do you want to resolve it?

3. Past, Present, Future


Past- tell the audience the answer to the problem from the past
Present- tell the audience the current solution
Future- tell the audience the possible solution

4. Cause, Effect, Remedy


Cause – what is the cause of the problem
Effect- what is the effect of the problem towards the community
Remedy- what is the possible/best solution to the problem

The following are the topics for upcoming speech activity.


DIRECTION: Impromptu speech must be done in a minimum of 3minutes and a
maximum of 5minutes. You will hear the bell at 4.5 minute, with this you are
required to wrap your speech.

m. Do you think pets are for people who do not have children?
n. Is it better to be an influential than to be rich?

q. Do you think Facebook makes society less happy?
r. Do you think renting a house is better than buying?
s. Do you think introverts are not good entrepreneurs?
t. Is cold emailing potential clients actually works?
u. Do you think it’s okay to send past clients thoughtful gifts?
v. Is it smart to create blog/vlog post about your business?
w. Do you believe that customer is always right?
x. What do you mean by “Never be afraid of your competitors”?
