entrepreneurship education refers to a structured course that helps students to grasp
personal
insights, market demands, and commercial opportunities through entrepreneurial skills. It

business plan, business management, and assessment of the business environment.

This course is designed for students who desire to establish their own business, purchase
an existing one, or work for a start-up or corporate venture firm. This course emphasizes
"learning by doing," in which people and resources are used as foundations for the
entrepreneurial process, such as producing value, spotting an opportunity, and innovating.
This course covers case studies for one small or micro business that has been chosen by
the group members. Students should conduct an interview about a business physically or
virtually in gaining first-hand knowledge of the issues that the business faces as well as

1.2 Problem Statement

To be an entrepreneur, there are many challenges that one must overcome, and a couple of
those problems are: -

 Financing
Experienced entrepreneurs do not have it easy when it comes to funding a new business
but they do have a few advantages over newcomers. They might have a pool of capital
from a business they previously sold or a steady stream of revenue they can use to fund
a new business’s cash flow.

 Teambuilding
This is especially hard if you have never run or managed a team before but even if you
have management experience, picking the right team for a start-up is stressful and
difficult. It is not enough to find candidates who fill certain roles. You also need to
consider their cost to the business, their culture fit, and how they will work as part of your
overall team. Such considerations are exceptionally hard when you are pressured to fill
those positions as soon as possible.

6

A business strategy is a long-term plan term plan of action designed to achieve a particular
goal or set of goals or objectives. This is because different business has different goal and
objective. The business strategy also is the backbone of business because that is the
guideline to achieve goals. Without guidelines, it can result in businesses getting bankrupt
and difficult to compete with competitors.

The first strategy that Crafted by Kantan used is providing job opportunities to all level of
ages. The manager was using this first strategy to attract more people to work at their place
so that their business could make it smoother in operating the business every day. So, they
can easily solve to achieve their objectives and goals. The manager believes by opening
more job opportunities by not following age, they can help people to increase new skills,

a very affordable price for all types of printing. They also use social media to attract more

shirts. So, they will publish their product, price, and place of their shop on social media such
as Facebook and Instagram. By using social, they also can increase their communication
between the customers and owners. So, they can increase their strength in their business.

11
2.4.2 Marketing Strategy

A marketing strategy refers to a business's overall game plan for reaching prospective
consumers and turning them into customers of the products or services the business
provides. A marketing strategy contains the company’s value proposition, key brand
messaging, data on target customer demographics, and other high-level elements. The
importance of marketing strategy is to help an organization make optimum utilization of its
resources so as to provide a sales message to its target market.

First, design strategy. Design is important to attract people to buy a product. If the design of
the product is unattractive and not suitable for the product, customers will not buy or use the
product. Crafted by Kantan was designed based on the idea of their own design that is
taking an art course at university. Other than its affordable price and the social media, the up
to dated design also could be one of the marketing strategies. So that, this business can
compete with others.

Next, E–Marketing. Even though this is a small business, this business still can provide a
good marketing strategy. This business uses E-Marketing to make people easier to exist to
their products to get information about their products. Facebook and Instagram are
examples of E-Marketing that they use to market their product to people in Malaysia. So,
with this alternative, they can create new customers and can communicate with their
customers.

2.4.3 Operational Strategy

A plan specifying how an organization will allocate resources in order to support

infrastructure and production. An operations strategy is typically driven by the overall
business strategy of the organization and is designed to maximize the effectiveness of
production and support elements while minimizing costs. This is important because without
an operational strategy the business will not run smoothly, and they will be facing a lot of
problems.

The operational strategy of Crafted by Kantan is designed to maximize the effectiveness of

production and minimize cost. Since their business wants to satisfy the customers with their
service, they put their office at Sikamat, Seremban near their place. So that the customer
around them can see their shop easily. They also use media social platform as a platform to

12
promote their service. This is important because their product is still new in the market, so
they will be faced problems if they build their shop far from people and difficult to archive.

Customized t-shirts are similar to free off-the-shelf promotional items. Well-designed

customized t-shirts encourage employees and clients to wear them wherever they go,
resulting in a distinct company image.

2.5 Financial achievements

Crafted by Kantan has achieved so many achievements since the first time launched. This
printing shop is always received a huge order from schools, higher education institutions,
private and government sectors, clubs and associations, and individuals. Their varieties of
designs and products have attracted so much attention from customers. Crafted by Kantan
has always received a lot of customers from other states as well. Crafted by Kantan has
provided many quality and up-to-date design that meets the customer’s need and wants.
Based on Encik Mohamad Norizzammudin Bin Zulkiflee, Crafted by Kantan always received
good feedback from their customers.

Profitability is the most fundamental financial goal of any company, especially a small one. It
entails generating more money than spend on operating costs. Sales revenue and interest
on investments are examples of business revenue, while advertising, rent, utilities, interest
payments, and taxes are examples of operating expenses. It is important to completely
comprehend how to cut operating expenses in business in order to gain a better
understanding of your company’s financial statement and make improvements to the
organization in both good and bad times.

As the economic damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic continues to spread, Crafted By
Kantan strives to improve the financial health of their business. They are focusing on
lowering operating costs by utilizing a remote workforce to engage with employees. It is
becoming increasingly vital for businesses attempting to adapt to the ‘new normal’
imposedughrn by Covid-19. Because some of them are students who are always on the go,
this makes it easier for them to communicate with each other. They communicate with their
team as needed throughout the day using Google Meet or Zoom, which helps them keep
their operational costs down by eliminating the need to pay for office utilities, among other
things.

Then comes cash flow accounting. The movement of funds in and out of your business is
referred to as cash flow. Business typically tracks their cash flow on either a weekly,

13
monthly, or annual basis. Cash flow accounting is important because it will represent your
company’s capacity to keep sufficient operating capital to cover all of its fundamental
operational expenses. Setting a restriction on corporate funding incurred for off-season
operations or a time period to repay the amount of financing are two examples of cash flow
management. Every penny that leaves your bank account should always be a source of
concern in business, especially amid a cash flow crisis. You must cut out all the unnecessary
charges and only spend on those that are required.

As for Crafted by Kantan, they avoid using suppliers from other countries, such as
Indonesia. This attempts to lower the cash flow required to pay for the shipment of cloth from
Indonesia to Malaysia, as well as the costs of supplier’s payments. As a result, they decided
to discover the nearest supplier and were successful in finding one that supplies the same
quality of cloth at a lower price. Furthermore, rather than hiring a large number of agents,
Crafted by Kantan has decided to engage only 4 to 5 agents. Because Crated by Kantan is a
small company, it is not a problem for them not to hire a large number of agents. Spending
on employee compensation can be reduced as a result of this.

Finally, a company should consider how to optimize the pricing of its products and services.
You must set your prices based on your costs and how much your competitors charge. You
should not set commodity prices too high because it will negatively impact your firm. Crafted
by Kantan, on the other hand, makes a good selection by producing high quality, value, and
unique products at low cost compared to their competitors. One of the unique features of the
Crafted by Kantan product is that it includes design. Nonetheless, their product prices are
lower than their competitors, at RM 20 only, and you can receive discounted pricing, such as
during the special season, for only RM 18. It can enhance sales volume as a result of the
price reduction, and the lower the set price, the higher the business revenue in bulk as more
products are sold.
