Eze_39:7

So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I
will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am
the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

Gospel Reflection
1.  Give two ways how we pollute the Name of our God.  Explain your answer.

We pollute the name of God in certain ways we that we don’t notice. One example is
when we use the Lord’s name in vain. Verbal expressions such as “Oh my God!” or
mentioning “Jesus Christ!” in situations that has no solemnity or spiritual meaning is
considered to be disrespectful. It is wrong to mention the Lord’s name with no context
since it holds such power representing His glory. We must not drag it to our mundane
conversations as to make a statement. Another example, is when we use the Lord’s
name as a threat or to mislead other people’s beliefs. There are individuals who take
advantage the faith of others for their own gain. These kind of modus is rampant where
one will pretend they are collecting donations for religious purposes however the money
at the end only goes to their pockets. The mentioned scenarios are a few of the times
that we pollute God’s name.

2. How can you apply this passage to our lesson?

Our lesson talks about the problem of pollution in our planet. It has grown to the extent
that the existence of a natural resources for the future generation is compromised.
Pollution is a global problem which needs to be addressed immediately. Relating the
passage that says, the name of the Lord will not be polluted, we must strive to alleviate
the causes of pollution to maintain a healthy environment. The road to sustainable
development should now be taken for us to continue living in a world that is not
exploited by human activities.
