Notes and Reminders:

● Homework: Homework for the week (Reading Tic Tac Toe and Math Homelinks) is due by
Friday each week. The purpose of the homework is to reinforce the concepts we are learning
in school.
● The Black History Month Assembly will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at (most likely) 9:15 am.
Parents are invited to attend. Room 206 will not be doing a class presentation, but many
students will be actively participating. Some students have been chosen to do their Wax
Museum Presentation, others were picked by our music teacher Ms. Walker to participate in
line dancing, and others will be modeling.

● The classroom is in need of both sanitizing wipes and facial tissue. We are grateful for
any donations.

Here is What We Are Working On This Week:

Math
● Our math lessons this week will focus on
extended division facts and area: finding
missing side lengths.
● We will take our unit 5 assessment on
Monday (we reviewed in class on both
Thursday and Friday). We will do a brief
progress check on Friday.
● At the beginning of math each day,
students are either working on their
multiplication facts, a daily math practice
which reinforces past and current
concepts, or word problems.
Reading
● We will conclude our new class novel,
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.
○ We will start our final project on the
book.
● For literacy centers; students will be given
a contract of activities they are to
complete throughout the week.
● During guided reading this week, we will
read about Pandora’s Box.

Social Studies Science

● Southwest Region of the United States
○ Students will continue working on
their project and presentation for
their specific state
● Current Events
● Waves of Sound Lesson 2: Sounds and
Vibrations
● Mystery Science Mini Lesson

Writing
● Expository Writing
○ Students have picked a specific
thing about their southwest region
state (ex: culture, food, art, sports,
