PRESS RELEASE// FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BARTENDER ARRESTED FOR OVERSERVING SUSPECT WHO KILLED

EULESS PD DETECTIVE ALEX CERVANTES, INJURED FAMILY

(LAKE WORTH, TX) – On November 27, 2021, the Lake Worth Police
Department responded to a fatality crash in the 4200 block of Boat Club Road.
There, officers found off-duty Euless PD Detective Alex Cervantes deceased,
and his wife and two children critically injured. The preliminary investigation
revealed that the suspect, then 26-year-old Dylan Molina, ran a red light and
struck Detective Cervantes’ vehicle broadside. At the time of the crash, Molina
had a blood alcohol concentration twice the legal limit. Molina plead guilty and
was subsequently sentenced to 15 years in prison on Monday, January 30,
2023.

During the investigation, Detectives obtained evidence indicating Molina was

overserved by 26-year-old Cala Richardson, a bartender at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop
in Lake Worth. Additionally, evidence indicating Richardson’s TABC server’s
license was expired at the time she served Molina.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code prohibits the sale of alcohol to a person
who is intoxicated.

This morning, Richardson turned herself into the Parker County Sheriff’s Office
and was released after posting a $1,000 bond. Richardson is charged with one
county of Sale to Certain Persons – a Class A Misdemeanor punishable by up
to 1 year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

No other arrests are expected in this case. However, the Texas Alcoholic
Beverage Commission’s administrative investigation continues.

“Like most serious alcohol-related crashes, this case has devastated an entire
family.” said Chief J.T. Manoushagian. “Today’s arrest fulfills a commitment we
made early on – and that was to fully investigate this senseless crime and hold
those responsible accountable.”
