CONTENT STANDARD

Content standards are broad statements that indicate what knowledge,

interests, and skills students should have at each learning level. The term
"Content Standards" refers to broad assertions that specify particular subject
areas that groups of students should study at each grade level. It helps teachers
decide the knowledge and skills to teach their students so they can achieve their
goals. Describe the precise material that has to be taught and retained in order to
achieve the desired language arts domain. It outlines the fundamental
information and abilities that the student ought to possess. A list of the skills,
knowledge, and interests that students should have. They provide general
descriptions of the subjects that students in each grade level should master.

SIMILARITIES

Content standards and performance standards are also key elements in

standards-based systems. The two are very important because without this the
learning outcomes are not good. The two are like twins; you can’t separate. You
can see these two standards in the curriculum every curriculum.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD

Performance standards are used to evaluate what specific, measurable

evidence is acceptable in determining whether content standards have been met.
Expectations for instruction, assessment, and student work are called
Performance Standards. It also helps teachers to assess the progress of the
knowledge and applied skills of learners. Use precise language to describe high-
quality work. To illustrate how well pupils must learn or to show their
comprehension of the material, use specific examples. Give examples of "how
good is good enough" to reach a specific degree of skill in a topic, like math or
English. Give examples of admissible proof that can be used to assess if a student
has high-standard knowledge.

Content standards are broad statements explaining what students should

know, care about and be able to do in each level of learning. Performance
standards are used to evaluate what specific, measurable evidence is acceptable
in determining whether content standards have been met. Content standards
were designed to encourage the highest achievement of every student, by
defining the knowledge, concepts, and skills that students should acquire at each
grade level. The goal of performance standards is to ensure that both employers
and employees are on the same page regarding job expectations. That's why
managers need to provide their new employees with the performance standards
during the first month of employment. Under each content standard are a
number of performance standards. These are the work that a learner is expected
to be able to do. These demonstrate the achievement, acquisition, and
application of the knowledge or skill required by the content standard.
Comprising performance standards are learning competencies.
