    9TH GRADE Literature Lesson

    Lord of the Flies Chapters 1-6 Diary Writing

    Diary Entry: Select a character on the island and write a journal entry as that boy. Describe
    what you do all day, why you do it, who you look up to, what (or who) you fear. Do you believe
    you will be rescued? Do you believe there is anything to fear on the island? Provide reasons,
    explanations, examples, quotations referring to your entry.

    Consider these:

    - Selecting details effectively with relevance and focus.

    - Reflecting on personal experience.

    - Developing insight & express emotions with appropriate language, carefully and precisely.
