Scenario: Client Pearl Beck Mae Cuelonma 3 years old was brought by her mother to the health center due to fever. Vital signs shows T39C PR is

EMPIRICS ETHICS ESTHETICS PERSONAL

Clinical Eye:
Patient appears flushed, warm to
touch and somewhat teary eyed.
She looks uneasy and complains of
some headache.
Evidences:
Body Temperature of 39 C.
Pulse Rate: 120BPM
Nursing Knowledge:
The nurse must do Tepid Sponge
Bath (TSB) and monitor the body
temperature.
Right to privacy
➢ Close curtains, windows and
doors
➢ No unnecessary exposure of the ➢ Inform patient to use call light

Performing a nursing task -TSB:

folded and no edges are shown.
➢ The mitten is rid of excess water
and must not be dripping when
it touches the patient.
➢ Makes wrinkle-free linens after
giving TSB.
Past experiences:
The nurse remembers her past
experience of having fever when
she was young and her mother
rendered TSB to her. She
remembered that her mothers’
hands are soft and her strokes
are not hurried. This reassured
her and made her feel safe.
Self-awareness:
The nurse is aware that her TSB
strokes must not be hurried
rather it must be soft to reassure
the patient. She also understands
the need to have the patients
relative nearby or in the room
while she is performing TSB.
