- Last week we have discussed about Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) used in welding.

- What PPE in welding is use to protect the hands?

- There are four PPE's commonly used in welding such - Welding gloves sir!

- to protect the eyes and the respiratory
system.
- What will happen if a welder performs welding

- What is the main purpose of welding gloves besides
protecting the hands from molten slugs from metal?

- Prevents eletricution sir!
- The main purpose of gloves is to protect the welder
from high voltage current produced by the machine.

 Welding jacket
- protects the body and the external organs.
 Welding boots
- protects the feet from falling objects and
slugs of welding or molten metal.

- Before we proceed to our lesson proper, let's have a


game first. The name of this game is "NOHOYA".

Mechanics:

 All students are considered as participants.


 Students will form into two groups.
 Each group will be given five blank bond
papers
 Every group must have one representative in
every numbers.
 Group members are allowed to help.
 The representative in each group will be
going to write the correct word in the bond
papers.
 The first student to raise the bond paper up
with the correct word will be the winner.
 This game is race to 3.
 The winning group will be given an award for
being the winner.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
- Let's start our topic with a game.

- Are you all ready? - Yes sir!

- Now I will divide you students into two groups.


- Okay sir!
- I want you students to GUESS the correct word.

- Okay?

- The first is "LWDE" - Yes sir!

- Second is "ONIJ" - WELD

- Third is "NTCONEC" - JOIN

- Fourth is "CHATTA" - CONNECT

- And last is "DAD" - ATTACH

skills # 1 - Our topic is all about the DIFFERENT TYPES OF
WELDING JOINTS.

- But for now, we are going to discuss what is a


welding joint.

- A WELDing JOINt is to CONNECT or ATTACH two


metals together. +

if you are not an expert in welding.

-Alright class there will 2 groups with five members,


each in this activity
- Each member will choose only one among the five
types of joints and perform actual assembling and
welding of the choosen joint.
-I will give you 30 minutes to cut, measure and weld
your choosen joint.

- And lasty, before starting observe SAFETY WHILE


WORKING, NO PLAYING WITH THE TOOLS AND
wear PPE correctly to avoid unwanted incidents or
ACCIDENTS.
