Living in a village – yes or no?

Choosing a place to live is not an easy decision to make. It affects one's life in numerous
ways. Some people decide to head for the peaceful country whereas others can't imagine living away
from the hustle and bustle of urban environment. There are certainly pros and cons to both of these
places.

Firstly, living in a village is much more peaceful, which can be useful for people who have
stressful jobs and want to escape from the city noise. Getting away to a rural area can help them
recover from daily stress. Secondly, life in a village usually offers a stronger sense of community. That
can be an important factor in a world where people seem to get more alienated from each other.
Furthermore, villages are often very safe places, with a lot of green spaces, so they can be a great
place for bringing up children.

However, living in a village is not all that excellent. Without a car you are pretty much stuck
there and public transport can be a nightmare. In addition to this, villages often don’t have good
facilities, forcing you to drive to a city too often, which can be very time-consuming. Last but not
least, news can travel extremely fast there, including those you would like to keep private.

All things considered, living in a village offers both positive and negative sides. Each individual
should decide if a village is the right place for them. In my view, cities are much better because they
offer much more excitement, facilities and privacy.
