2.4 Installation Tests

Before the test start the recodring in the data tool (enter imei and email)

Aktion Erwartetes Ergebnis OK

3 Accessoires
Accessories only work with the right tracking device and are not included in the standard delivery.

3.1 Private Switch

The device has a second input (open collector => ground must be switched) what allows to add a private switch!

Tests:

3.2 Connecting Digital Inputs
Most external signals (alarm buttons, door sensors, ignition, etc) return two states: high or low voltage. Digital inputs should be
used to read this information. The figure below shows how to connect alarm button, door sensor, etc.

Tracking Unit

Different tracking units have different numbers of Digital Inputs. See above for finding the right pin for digital inputs. In cases
when sensor output signal is negative an additional relay has to be installed to convert negative signal to positive.

GPS Tracking Units have various digital inputs that can process simple status signals (0 = off, 1 = ON).
Other examples for vehicle signals that could be connected to digital inputs (depending on the vehicle and how you can
connect): Ignition, Door/hood open/closed, Seat belt on/off, Fuel tank lid open/close, 4-wheel drive on/off, light on/off.
Interaction between the tracking box digital inputs and the vehicle signal needs skilled professional people (in a workshop) AND
the electrical plan of the vehicle. Most workshops know about how and where to connect a digital input to the vehicle. In rare
cases (or depending on the vehicle brand and model) you will need a special CANBUS interface to get the vehicle signal safely
from the vehicle without interfering the CANBUS. If you are not sure, consult a professional workshop or dealer or search for the
vehicle electronical switching plan online:

3.3 Connecting iButton driver identification with buzzer and relais

To prevent interferences we recommend to connect the buzzer only via an automotive relais (12 or 24 volt). If the buzzer is too
loud, you can use isolation tape around it.

Cable Type Necessary Connect to

GPS antenna GPS Yes To the tracking device
Red wire PWR – Power Yes Permanent power
+ 10 V - 30 V DC
(direct current)

Yellow wire ACC Positive Input Yes Ignition power

Black wire GND GROUND Yes Ground

Green wire IN1 Yes iButton reader white wire (1 Wire data)

Grey wire OUT2 Yes Relais 86

Relay Connection
Make sure to connect according the relay numbers (the colours could be different)!

Wire Connect Necessary Description

85 (black) Permanent power Yes Switching current
from vehicle
86 (green) Tracking device OUT2 Yes Switching current
(ground is switched
ON/OFF)

87 (yellow) Vehicle ground Yes Working current (ON if 86 is switchting ground)

30 (red) Ground of buzzer Yes Working current (ON if 86 is switchting ground)

Connect to
iButton reader white cable (1 wire data) Tracking device IN1/1 w (green cable)
iButton grey wire (ground) Vehicle ground
Alert buzzer red wire Tracking device ignition plus ACC (yellow cable)
Alert buzzer black wire Relay 87 *!

*! danger: make sure that the output has been configured by the provider prior to connecting it

Tests:
The driver identification is managed by the tracking device firmware or that software (refer to the UserManual). The test is
based on software-side logoutmode=2 (driver identification required with every new trip).

Action Result OK
Ignition is ON without You should hear the buzzer at least 5x ⃝
ibutton No driver is shown in the software
Place the button on the The buzzer noise stops ⃝
reader The driverID is shown in the software
3.4 Temperatur Sensor
The sensor is delivered by the manufacturer and converts the temperature value into an Dallas iButton signal. One tracking
device can handle up to 2 sensors.

Connect to
sensor reader red cable (1 wire data) Tracking device IN1/1 w (green cable)
Sensor black wire (ground) Vehicle ground

Tests

Aktion Erwartetes Ergebnis OK

Ignition on The data tool shows an value in the column temp1 ⃝
A record with ignition on is written in the data tool.
An event info was sent to the given email address.

3.5 Connecting Outputs

When connected as shown below, the output can disable engine starter when output is ON. A simple automotive relay shall be
used to invert input signal or to immobilize engine starter. Note, that they are available as 12 or 24 Volt.
GFSx44: 4 digital outputs, open collector output (max. 500mA), the digital output is switching the ground!!!

The digital outputs can be activated using special SMS commands that can be requested when necessary.
The usage of outputs can lead to dangerous situations and needs precaution. The provider EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS
ALL WARRANTIES OR LIABILITIES that could be caused by connecting outputs. The customer bears the risk of any
consequential damages.

A possible configuration:
The relay is connected with the OUT 1 cable, that its pulls , if the output is active (in other words when ground is coming over
the OUT 1 cable)
If the relay is active, the ignition will not work.
If the relay is not active, the ignition will work.
If the tracking device is not working or would be damaged, the ignition would work!

4.1 Device is not sending (correctly)

 Study the installation manual
 Take pictures of the current installation
 Check, if the device is connected to permanent power
 Check, if the ignition is connected correctly
 Check, if the antenna is on the right position and is facing the satellite with the round part
 Do a test drive and check the data in the data tool
 Use the LED’s (See 2.3) to analyses the problem in detail
 Contact us, if you can’t solve the problem
