BACKGROUND OR INTRODUCTION
1.1 Name of Business
Resto bar and grill as the name suggests is a combination of a bar and a restaurant that
serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, proper meals, and grilled foods. It is a well-
known type of business in different parts of the world. Resto-bars and grills are also popular
in the Philippines but it wasn’t found anywhere in Ballesteros, a coastal municipality located
in the province of Cagayan with a land area of 120.00 square kilometers.
Since Ballesteros is located near the sea with a great view of the sunset, especially the
sunrise, plus the ongoing construction of the bayside boulevard which will surely be a new
attraction to the place, the researchers decided to put up a food business called “THE
INFINITE RESTO-BAR & GRILL” located by the seaside of the said municipality. The
business name was inspired by the symbol of infinity (∞) which is a figure eight on its side
because the business consists of 8 owners. Infinity means endless or limitless so, just like
how the waves of the sea are unending, we aim to provide our customers an unending love,
respect, high-quality customer service, and a promise to always have an available supply of
foods and ingredients to provide satisfaction and delight to all out customers.

The business logo represents our infinite or unending love, commitment, passion, and
dedication toward our business and our valued customers. This also shows our goal towards
our products and services to always provide quality and the best possible to fully provide
satisfaction and delight to people.

4.3 Facility Management

1. Lighting features
Proper lighting makes all work tasks easier. Since our business is located at the
seaside, daylight is desirable in the workplace providing it does not cause glare or make the
work area too bright. People receive about 85 percent of their information through their sense
of sight. Appropriate lighting, without glare or shadows, can reduce eye fatigue and
headaches; it can prevent workplace incidents by increasing the visibility of moving
machinery and other safety hazards. The amount of daylight entering the workplace can be
controlled with tinted glass, window blinds, curtains, and awnings. Not enough light can also
be a problem so even in workplaces where daylight is available, it is essential to have a good
electric lighting system so for our business, aside from the natural source of light, we will
also add overhead fixtures around the place on the first floor to let people see and move
around easily and comfortably and a bright fluorescent lights in the kitchen. At the bar area,
we will put decorative island lights on the top bar and colorful lighting behind the bar to add
drama to the area.
On the second floor, the seaside resto-bar and grill will use general lighting which is
the ceiling that provides fairly uniform lighting that lights up the area especially at night with
an addition of an LED string light bulbs to produce some cozy vibe.

2. Noise management
The World Health Organization defines noise as a serious health hazard that affects
your customers and even your employees. As a business owner, how would you manage
noise? Since the business we chose is located at the seaside and it is a resto-bar and grill there
should be a limitation in sound level inside and outside of the business premises so that the
customers and employees can hear each other during conversation. The ideal sound level for
normal conversation is between 55 and 65 dB this will help to keep your employees’ content
and products to meet the satisfaction of your customers.
