A.Introduction /Presentation
a. Preparation Good morning children! Let us all stand for our opening prayer.
(Video presentation)
You may now have your seat. Let me first check your attendance.
(Say present if your name is called)
Aside from that, here are the basic health protocol in a face to face
classe.
So, let us strictly observe that, inside as well as outside the classroom.
Now,I have here an incentive chart. I will group you into
two, if your group answer correctly, you will have the chance to
take one step on the ladder. The more correct answers you
have have, the better.
1. 2 x 6 =
2. 8 x 3=
3. 5 x 2 =
4. 6 x 4 =
5. 9 x 2 =
c. Review Have some pupils recite the multiplication table from 1 to 10 through a
game entitled “ Who am I “
Gr.1 Gr.2
4.My factors are 8 and 3, what number am I?
Good job,children!
e. Presentation Today, we are going to learn on how to apply the commutative property
of multiplication. It is important for you to learn and listen to what I will
be discussing today, for you to be able to understand commutative
property.
-The first group shows that there are 4 rows and 3 columns of pots of
flowers.
-On the other hand, we noticed that the order of the factors is changed
where in there are 3 rows and 4 columns of pots of flowers and the
product is still the same which is 12.
Another example.
Lilibeth draws 6 circle with 3 stars inside each circle While Ana draws
3 circles with 6 stars inside each circle.
Lilibeth
-In this illustration, There are 6 groups of circle and 3 stars each inside
it. We write the multiplication sentence as 6 x 3 where 6 and 3 are the
factors and the product is 18
6 x 5=
If 6 x 5 are the given factors, the other factors that exhibits the
commutative property are 5 x 6 and the product is still the same.
Therefore: 6 x 5 = 5 x 6
30 = 30
-thus, we noticed that changing the order of the factors in the given
number sentence does not affect its product. This property of
multiplication is called commutative property.
This time let us all learn on how to apply the commutative property of
multiplication.
MIMI NENA
Who are in the picture? How many boxes of egg did Mimi
arranged? How many pieces of egg are there in each box? How many
pieces of egg did Mimi arranged in all?
How about Nene, How many boxes of bread did Nene arranged?
How many pieces of egg are there in each box? How many pieces of
egg did Nene arranged in all?
Do they have the same number of pieces? Very good.
Now. Lets talk about the egg which Mimi and Nene have.
The egg is formed in the reproductive tract of a female chicken,
called a hen. The reproductive tract is divided into two major parts: the
ovary and the oviduct. The ovary is where the yolk is added. When the
yolk reaches the right size, it is released from the ovary by a process
called ovulation.

E. Independent Practice Show that multiplication is commutative. Write the missing letter.
1. 3 x = 7 x 3
2. x 4 = 4 x 3
3. 7 x = 9 x 7
4. 8 x 6 = x 8
5. 9 x = 6 x 9
2. 6 x 7 = x 6 = ______
3. 7 x 9 = 9 x = ______
4. x 6 = 6 x 4 = ______
5. x = 7 x 2 = ______
a. 8 x 5 = 40 b. 5 x 8 = 40 c. 5 x 7 = 35
a. 12 x 5 = 60 b. 60 x 12 = 5 c. 5 x 12 = 60
