information about what is being
compared and what is being
contrasted.

pattern organizes information

physical space. This pattern is best
used when your main points are
oriented to different locations that can
exist independently. The basic reason
to choose this format is to show that
the main points have clear locations.
We’ll look at two examples here, one involving
physical geography and one involving a different
spatial order.
Problem-Cause-Solution
Another format for organizing distinct
main points in a clear manner is the
problem-cause-solution speech
pattern. In this format you describe a
problem, identify what you believe is
causing the problem, and then
recommend a solution to correct the
problem.
